some kinda Early Musicke reference because I was practising Gaudete for choir :)
absolutely love the time sim changes in the Trio section. Gives it a very fresh neoneoclassic sound!

nearly halfway! This is inspired by an unnamed piece by Chopin written in the front of someone else's book - inspired in terms of being in Eb, in 3, and having a LH tune bit in the middle, and generally being a bit Chopin-ish. (ish!)
this is so lovely

a pretty one!
Here’s my demo using the sample library “Miroire” by Orchestral Tools. Two years ago I scored the soundtrack to a baroque era game titled Court of Ashes, so I used material from that for this piece.
Enjoy listening!
Nice! Would be cool if you transformed the two part choral (albeit in different octaves) into four parts for the maximum lacrimosa effect
Something like this could be fun

I did a quick arrangement for string quartet of Future Days, inspired by the game The Last of Us Part II. It's a beautiful song by Eddie Vedder, though not shown in its entirety here.
I made this today to get the hang of Dorico (the notation software), but since I enjoyed it quite a bit I decided it to post it.
Hope you enjoy it!
I know that @composerinprogress is quite a fan of dorico, and rightly so. Such a satisfying software to use

probably my favorite composer here in tumblr, highly recommend!
It feels like a little while since the last nice quick song sketch of a poem on here huh?
This is another one by Thomas Hood, with some nice cute easy piano riffing going on yay.
The stars are with the voyager Wherever he may sail; The moon is constant to her time; The sun will never fail; But follow, follow round the world, The green earth and the sea, So love is with the lover’s heart, Wherever he may be.
Wherever he may be, the stars Must daily lose their light; The moon will veil her in the shade; The sun will set at night. The sun may set, but constant love Will shine when he’s away; So that dull night is never night, And day is brighter day.

jeez is bo burnham OK?
New - or rather very old - piano piece!
This is a good project (trying to write up and also record my old music) because I don’t think I ever quite got this piece down confidently before, even though it’s not super difficult. Sheet music included, why not try it yourself?
I actually wrote this as an exercise for composition class in my final year of undergrad. The idea was to follow the *structuring* of a piece, in this case Debussy “La fille aux cheveux de lin” closely in order to analyse it and at the same time to make your own piece. There is a teeny bit of Debussy maybe in the harmonies/parallels too. Also it has the title at the end: Naptime for Kangaroos.
there isn't a single piece of yours that you posted here that I don't love
A little teaser for the opera I wrote for the Amazon Opera Festival, which will premiere next month!
