Went into a sort of psychosis at 2AM after watching Remarkably Bright Creatures with my mom. I just really loved the concept of the film, and I ABSOLUTELY NEED MORE OLD PEOPLE IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA!!!!! PLEASE!!!! Not only are the awesome and cool, but I really like looking at their perspectives.

Old people are my favorite people to draw. This might sound weird but conventionally attractive people aren’t as fun to draw, and I LOVE unique features. BLESS YALL. Shoutout to my mom she’s like 55 now.

Posting this by proxy of my mom, who has in turn caused me to be just as enraged about this topic:

Apparently, for the 1964 My Fair Lady film, Warner bros decided they wanted Audrey Hepburn to play Eliza. Great, Awesome, however she wasn’t the best at singing the high notes, so someone else sung all of the lyrics. The beautiful singer in question was Mari Nixon, who dubbed many other songs for popular movies.

EVEN MORE THAN THAT, they wanted Rex Harrison specifically as the actor for Henry Higgins, and he couldn’t sing either… but instead of doing another dub,, he just sort of spoke musically throughout the film.

Anyways, my mom told me this rant on the way home from seeing a live performance of My Fair lady, which was super awesome and cool. The older version also has a special place in my heart.

We totally need to redefine the meaning of “born in the wrong generation” because I think that about other people all the time. But not like ‘wow you would enjoy the 80s’ but ‘You’re doing so well but I know you could Thrive as a groundskeeper for a rich person’s NY mansion in the 1920s.’ Like this person was MEANT to be a goose keeper in early Europe but Unfortunately That Didn’t Happen.
