The amazing photographer who did my new borns is doing a "picture a week for 52 weeks" challenge with different inspirations each week. I've decided I will also post them here. It will not only remind me to post but share my life like I intended this to be. This week was "birds eye view". I decided to take this because it's what my life has become! We do LOTS of tummy time or play time. Our pup is always there to watch after us too. Look who's three months old!!! She's holding her head up like a CHAMP and loves to be held so that she can look around. Her favorite thing is currently her toy elephant she got at Christmas. She also loves to watch any kind of screen. She is really starting to grab at things and kicks her legs like crazy to get something to move. And oh boy has she found her voice! She is constantly making noises. In the last month, she has had her first Christmas and New Years. While at dinner tonight Pook (hubs) and I reflected on this past year. We found out we were expecting, Pook got a job, hurricane Harvey happened, we had our beautiful pumpkin, and Pook got a better job opportunity. So much has happened and 2017 was amazing. I have grown so much and I have learned who our real friends are and sadly who aren't. Yesterday we took pumpkin to take her first picture with Santa and took her to Zoo Lights! While, I'm not totally thrilled with the Santa picture I'm so happy to be experiencing all these firsts with her!! The Zoo Lights were really cool! Something I haven't even done myself. Of course while there pumpkin got hungry and since I'm breast feeding i breast fed her. I went to a dark corner to get situated and then covered. At one point though she partially uncovered herself (she really doesn't enjoy being covered) and her arm was out and she was moving it. I over heard two guys go "whoa there's a baby in there" and couldn't help but kinda laugh. All I could do was look at my mom, shrug, and say that babies gatta eat. Looks like our pumpkin is now 2 months old! Wow does time fly!! She's now starting to turn herself while doing tummy time and she loves to look around. Currently her favorite thing is her bouncer. She's also found her hands! In this last month, she's had her first Thanksgiving and I've gone back to work. Leaving her is so hard and I count down til I'm back home holding her!! My second week back at work was actually a lot harder than my first. It was harder to leave her and all I would think about was getting home to her. Something my family and I were really worried about was me having PPD and PPA. Although I'm only 8 weeks in I am so happy to say that I have yet to have an issue. Surprisingly my pumpkin as an overwhelming calming effect on me. Even just looking at a picture of her calms me. I am so extremely luck that my pumpkin helps me overcome something I've always had to deal with in my life. If you do suffer please get help! Took pumpkin to do her 2 month check up a little early to make sure I was able to be there. She weighed 11 lbs (66th percentile), was 21 inches long (12th percentile), and her head was 14.5 inches (27th percentile). My little chunks BMI was in the 94th percentile! 🤣 After all was said and done the pediatrician said she was perfect and I will have to agree!! That was the easy part though... Cause then came the shots. I was able to hold my tears in, although they almost slipped. First week back at work is finally done!!! My dad watched her this week and would send me pictures which made work a smidge more bearable. While I am so happy to be done with the week and get all next week off (yay thanksgiving!!) it also makes me sad cause that means that my pumpkin is a week older! Day two is in the books and while leaving wasn't any easier my day seemed a little more organized in the teacher area. My nightmare of someone walking in while I'm pumping during lunch almost came true today. Luckily it wasn't a teacher with a key to my room but my heart stopped when they wiggled the knob. Although I cover it still is uncomfortable.
