could you spread the word about EA discriminating russian simmers, please?🤍 it’ll mean a lot to our community.

i haven't posted anything about it because i was waiting for more information (i don't know anything about the laws involved). but i really feel for you and all russian simmers caught in the middle of this and i hope whoever is in charge of this decision changes their mind. this is the petition i signed yesterday, i hope this is the correct one that i should be sharing! 💖

I feel for you Russian players, but don't be mad at EA – be mad at Putin and the government for their hateful and discriminatory laws. You can always pirate the pack anyway.

you probably haven’t read this law, dear anon. Lgbtq+ content is not forbidden for 18+ audience in Russia. and ts4 is an 18+ game.

u know what I see on the main display stand every time I enter the most popular bookshop in Russia? it’s CALL ME BY YOUR NAME with two gays on the cover (marked 18+). and it’s not the only one gay book here, there are tons of them. so who do think EA are trying to fool? exactly people like you who don’t look up the information properly.

and I’m not saying this law in general is fine, it’s definitely not. and believe it or not, we hate all of it much more than you, cause we live here.

but the most important thing about this “brave” EA’s action is that it won’t hurt neither the government nor the laws in any damn way. ever heard of russophobia? that’s what it’s all about. don’t tell me Russia is the only country in the world with problematic behavior towards lgbtq+ community. but they ban only Russia.

Let’s talk seriously today.

Ok, as you might know already, we’ve got really sad news today. Our dear @thesimsofficial team decided that Russia should not get new GP because of our laws against LGBTIQA+ community. Well, if you thought that we will stay silent, you were wrong, we won’t :)

So be ready for what’s coming next.

I won’t say that we don’t have this kind of law. Unfortunately, we do, and as a bisexual who’s living in Russia, it breaks my heart that this law even exists. But let me tell you. This law only applies to content that was created for underage audience. AND THE SIMS 4 IS RATED AS 18+ IN OUR COUNTRY. So… This law doesn’t work in this case.

What’s more… Why now? We have this (censored rage just in case) law for several years now, and it was always possible for us to have relationships that can be classified as connected to LGBTIQA+ in the game (sorry, if it was long and not fully understandable), and a lot of content that was released through all of these years was supported by covers and game trailers clearly showing LGBTIQA+ couples, AND, thankfully, IT WAS NEVER FORBIDDEN. Like remember Cats and Dogs trailer, for example? Nothing was said. NOTHING.

Also, let’s be honest, Russia is not the only one country who, unfortunately, has this kind of laws and was labeled as not LGBTIQA+ tolerating country (and I’m really sorry for this), so it’s not understandable why only our country was banned here. It might be something connected to our Constitution for having something about marriage but as far as I remember, several countries have this thing too, SO IT’S NOT A FUCKING REASON.

So, I’ll repeat myself, WHY EXACTLY NOW? Why all of this situation is happening right now, @thesimsofficial ? You told us “To our Simmers around the world, we are grateful to have you in our universe” but it seems like you’ve never seen us as part of your universe, us, Russian people who have been deeply in love with this franchise for all of these years. What’s more, right now you put Russian LGBTIQA+ community into ocean of hate and danger because of banning us ONLY from release, and you must understand how hard it is to be part of this wonderful community in Russia already. All of this situation already makes people start Russophobic actions, and you are more than responsible for that. This pack could’ve supported our LGBTIQA+ community too yet you decided to make our country the main bitch in this situation. Huge part of our people support LGBTIQA+ community and hugely disagree with all of this situation. PLEASE, REMEMBER: Whole Russia doesn’t equal the government we have, and we are not responsible for their actions. We all know how politics works, and this question seems so be really political.
