I think it is very offensive towards religious groups to call Thor a title and not a person. It's just as much a title as "Jesus". I think it's weird that certain people on tumblr are even calling people who just have a critical view of Islam islamophobic but then turn around and demand that Thor and Heimdall should be turned into completely other people because their names are "just titles". Tumblr is only supportive and understanding towards minorities that cry "I am a victim" loud enough...

I know of some Pagans who are incredibly offended - they said “It would be like having Jesus-Man as a superhero along side Superman, then turning him into a woman and then calling anyone who criticizes it sexist” - It’s insensitive to an established religion and to actual people who follow that religion…
