I’m not in China atm, but I have a lot of friends there and the only thing I can do is to worry for them and wish that things will get better soon. Pretty helpless situation. Not only the virus is a huge danger, but also people wish to start living a normal lives. The whole country can’t function normal. alright ladies. let's talk about what was revealed about gaius today. this post is not going to be excusing his actions, or even being a gaius "apologist" rather the affect on a antagonist when you remove their conscience. which is essentially what pb has done, this does not by any means excuse anything he's done, whether a lack of conscience or not, he still did those things and no amount of guilt tripping or sad bad stories will make me feel a pang of guilt for hopefully choosing to deny him a redemption. you weaken an antagonist when you give them this kind of free for all of bad actions, because people can and will say "oh well he was manipulated" yeah so? he still had freewill, he just felt zero guilt. he murdered children in cold blood, if the only thing that was stopping him was his own consuming guilt, then the thoughts were already there and only selfish reasons were stopping him. he didnt care about those he murdered before, he just cared about the effect his actions would have on himself. gaius always is, and always was a selfish bastard, and just because rheya rumbled about in his mind removing any kind of morals, doesnt mean he didnt have those thoughts or cared before. she just removed the last mental block to allow him to become the villain he is, and after rheya died, he has no reason to commit those atrocities for her which is shown as his only motive even after she changed him. once she died, that motive was gone, and yet gaius still murdered hundreds of people years later including mc. the fact is: gaius wouldve always become a good for nothing murderer, rheya just sped the process up, meaning he deserves no redemption other than to be faced with his own actions and to finally be dead for good.

Something I remember from my Criminal Law classes is that, quite genuinely, looking at someone (occasionally even pointedly not doing so) can constitute assault.

It seems absurd, looking at someone? Where’s the harm, right?

Well, it turns out it’s so that the law has recourse against people who just stand in a public space and start through someone’s living room window. For weeks.

Just randomly chasing somebody, even without intent to actually harm, is legally assault. It’s not harmless, it’s months or even years of therapy and paranoia against ever going outside your home, if you even think your home is still safe.

TLDR: Yes the law has already seen you play “I’m not touching you” and it is already fed up with your BS.
