Every time I see some gamerbro edit of a female video game character to make her 'prettier', I always see something I have mentally dubbed Cockroach Wife Syndrome (in honor of the guy who accidentally conditioned himself to only be aroused by a fantasy of his cockroach wife Ogtha).

That is to say, there is a certain subset of gamerbro who interacts so rarely with real women, that his primary touchstone for how women look is fiction: often video games and anime. So when a video game woman looks too realistic--too close to having traits that one might find in real flesh and blood women--this is foreign to them. This is unattractive. They have been jacking it to hentai and blender animation porn for too many years, and have inadvertently conditioned themselves to only be sexually aroused by the exaggerated cartoonish traits of animated women.

God i wish I'd taken a year off and worked between high school and college. Like. In my first semester i found out i had a fucking bone disorder that made my knee just stop bending a few weeks before finals started & my grades took a fucking nosedive from me straight up not being able to walk to class. Finally started to get in the swing of things in the spring semester just in time for covid to shut everything down.

Signed a lease with a friend for the following school year, expected it to be signed by the two others who had agreed to sign it & then their parents made them stay back at home bc pandemic still happening. Leasing agent asked us if we'd be ok with moving into a house that two open bedrooms, we said sure, and then i spent the year as a mental ill gay guy in what was essentially an off campus frat house. Went as well as you'd expect.

Like what did i do to end up with this luck. What the fuck

And after all that, my diploma got delivered with a ripped corner.

I have tens of thousands of dollars of debt in variable interest loans just for a degree that i don't even want at this point. i'm going to be making payments for decades & maaaaybe make a small dent in the principal balance before i die if im lucky. what people who didn't grow up by the sea don't realise is that death at sea isn't a threat it's a part of life that you have to and will come to terms with. you can play it as safe as you like but at the end of the day if you choose to stay close to the coast you are entering a contract with the sea that she can demand you honour the terms of at any time. there's a reason so many old gods and eldritch horrors are ocean based. that's literally just what it's like.
