It only stung a little bit when he first started, but you kept yourself distracted, glancing around, watching, and talking to Dirk as he worked. You asked him all sorts of questions about his job, and what made him want to tattoo, and things like that. 

"Is it hard to do? I mean, it looks so difficult with all of the coloring and shading that gets put into it.

"Well it takes the talent, that's for sure. Art has always been a strong suit for me, and I've been doing this for awhile so I'm pretty used to it. It kinda depends on the detail level of the tattoo and how much I know about the particular thing itself that I'm tattooing, you know? Usually I need more reference than this but I know what cherry blossoms look like well enough to not need any."
