Context for this,,, in someparts of the US (idk if elsewhere) they believe that a red cardnel represents the spirit of a loved one, if one shows up at your home it means someone who you cared for that passed is visiting. Its not a thing where i am but i know this because my cousins sent me images of a red cardnel after my uncle(their father) had died of cancer in 2016.

Matthew Rushin, a young black man with Autism and ADHD, was sentenced to 50 years in prison after being in a car accident, after which he was manipulated into pleading guilty for attempted suicide and murder with the promise he could return home to his mother who was battling cancer at the time. 40 years of the 50 were suspended, but he still has to serve 10 years.

There were serious injuries during the accident, but no one died. Matthew has never been in trouble before.

In the words of his mother, “Matthew has been my rock through my battle with cancer and understands what life is all about.Matthew exemplifies what it means to be a productive member our community, he is a loving, caring, compassionate about life and everything that surrounds it, student at ODU, worked at Panera and volunteered throughout our community.”

The opening scene with the street merchant was completely unscripted. Robin Williams was brought into the sound stage and was asked to stand behind a table that had several objects on it and a bed sheet covering them all. The animators asked him to lift the sheet, and without looking take an object from the table and describe it in character. Much of the material in that recording session was not appropriate for a Disney film.

just hear me out, I don’t think the atla kids would curse as much as people think sometimes

with aang it’s more obvious. the monks taught him to use his words wisely and to avoid aggressive or offensive language. aang also believes in the ability to create peace via communication. curses don’t really fit into that mindset.

sokka and katara were raised in a mostly male-led society, where girls were probably raised not to use foul language, and boys were taught not to curse around women, children, and the elderly (ie the people sokka and katara spent many of their formative years around). when they begin their travels, they’ve spent most of their lives with people who never really incorporated cursing into their diction, so it just never became a habit for them.

zuko and azula were raised among royalty, and were taught that true leadership is something innate. your speech should reflect your class and status. to curse would be to admit that you need expletives in order for others to listen to you, or that you don’t know how to speak like a proper member of the royal family. when zuko gets older, he’s also probably very cautious with his words, and does his best to make sure he’s speaking clearly and fairly and not coming off too aggressively like his father.
