Saying this was out of Eino's wheelhouse was putting it lightly, but he looked upon Isak's sacrifice with great curiosity. The surgeon, the man who often fixed anyone and raised them from the brink, had cut off such lifeline with ease. In some way, it was wholly perplexing, while in others, Eino figured there had to be relief in being let go of such harrowing duty. “I will give you one when I am to find one,” his tone is eerily cheery in a way, as though the situation could not be anymore ridiculous despite the fact they were indeed living it.
"Shall I shake it or your own hand in thanks?" Isak doesn't realize he actually is very happy to have Eino on this excursion until the other man bantered back with him. Normally, searching the dead wouldn't bother him, cadavers had been something common for him even in life. Death was a natural part of life, but it had been a long time since he'd felt a real loss and the idea of being alone with his thoughts and one hand would no doubt drive him mad. And then he'd be no use to anyone. Forward, he had to keep moving forward, they all did, whether they liked it or not. "No luck here." He set the hand of the corpse down before rising to his feet. "I'm starting to wonder if I should have offered them both so I wouldn't have to match it to anything." It's not even like he's all that picky, he'd just like all ten fingers to be relatively the same length. But considering his height, the overall looming figure of him, that was easier said than done.
