There are no records of Stringbean having a family. We assume he has a mother, like all creatures must. He was found planetside in an abandoned octokitten den by our very own octokitten couple on the ship, String and Bean. Stringbean was about 3 weeks old and alone in the den. "We are assuming that his mother knew of a threat and only had enough arms for the rest of her kittens, leaving behind the underdeveloped runt who had a 2% chance of making it anyway," according to our meow translator and the two octokittens who adopted little Stringbean.
