Avocado Secret Satan Exchange 2025 Roundup Post
Every year the Avocados in Love (Mattfoggy) Discord server organizes an exchange, and it always results in some fantastic fics and art! A month out from the exchange (now that I've had the time to read everything), I'm rounding up all the works in case anyone missed the smorgasbord generated by the event. :D

Sam meets Foggy properly. And after everything, he thinks itâll be alright.
Set during the Soule run in the comics, this fic follows Sam in the aftermath of his harrowing experience with the villain Muse. Life may go on, but he's got a lot on his mind. Luckily, he's not alone; he has Matt and also Foggyâwhatever he might be to his mentor. The fic also comes with art, so check that out too!

After a bad night out, Matt decides he needs a night in.
What makes a sex dream better than average? Obviously one where you wake up and the object of that dream is watching you with wide eyes! Sexy and cozy and complete with a love confession, coprime's Rest Easy is for you if you like a little spice! And if you prefer podfic there's one of those too!

Something enormous, dark red and feathered was on top of the man and the gun was skidding away across the tarmac. The man was trying to yell, but the thing on top of him kept slamming him into the ground, headbutting him, cutting his cries off. The thing twisted suddenly and the man went flying into the street, where he scrambled to his feet and took off running. The thing gave chase and had almost vanished into the shadows again when it paused and cocked its head.
Foggy stared.
The creature huffed a breath and darted out of the streetlampâs light, vanishing into the darkness.
The Devil of Hellâs Kitchen was fucking real.

Foggy Nelson, unsuccessful Youtuber, is on the verge of losing his sponsor for his Cryptid-Hunting channel. He takes some interesting risks trying to succeed.
This one is bound to satisfy the creature!Matt enthusiastsâespecially those that like theirs with a side of humor. There are some genuinely laugh-out-loud moments in this one, and Foggy's voice is spot on! Join me in clamoring for the second chapter to be released soon!
4. Don't Give Yourself This Excuse by inkforhumanhands (5306 words) rated M
He couldnât save her. But maybe Foggy can save him.
This fic is a little heavier. After it's made abundantly clear that he can't possibly save everyone, Matt falls into a despair it doesn't look like he'll come back from. Meanwhile Foggy, lately unsure what he has to offer in terms of keeping Matt safe, finally comes to terms with his own worth. Heads up for an aborted suicide attempt. This one also comes with a podfic!
5. The Phantom of the ESU Auditorium by 94BottlesOfSnapple (8483 words) rated T
Franklin Nelson is in his final year of undergrad at ESU. As vice president of the ESU Theatre Club, he doesn't expect the spring musical to go any differently than any of their other shows.
And then a bunch of weirdos show up claiming to be from "Evil Juilliard", and turn his world - and the production - upside down.
Set in earth-65 (aka the Murderdock universe), this fic is a well-crafted alternate take on Matt and Foggy's undergrad experiences that includes a lot of zany fun and riffs on Phantom of the Opera in the best way!
6. Daddy says I was a Dancer before I could Walk by 42donotpanic (3212 words) rated T
Matt Murdock had always loved dancing. He just didn't talk about it.
Another one that comes with a podfic, this fic is a soft exploration of a Matt who feels connected to dance, much to his friends' surprise. It's a very well-thought-out piece of fluff that goes down easy!
This one is a short fan comic of earth-65's Murderdock and DA Nelson set to a verse from Poe's "The Raven". It's fantastically well-arranged and crafted!
8. Two Sides Of The Same Coin by MissMoochy (2687 words) rated G
Foggy does his best to steer humanity into making the right choices but it's hard to do when you've got a demon co-worker who is determined to get under your skin.
This is an intriguing alternate take on the angel and demon AU, featuring Matt and Foggy as rivals. Foggy perhaps has some prejudices to overcome as he realizes Matt isn't exactly as he'd always assumed.
9. What is Written, Stays by thelonebamf (8123+ words) rated G (3/6 chapters posted)
The island of Columba is home to a thriving monastery and brotherhood of monks, with whom Matthew has spent nearly the last twenty years. Sent to study as a boy, he imagines he will spend the rest of his life in service to the brothers' great work. But when a stranger washes up on the shore, Matthew realizes there may be more the rest of the world has to teach him.
I can almost guarantee you've never read a fic like this. An AU set in the Ireland of centuries ago, this well-researched fic places Matt and Foggy in a monastery with a cranky old abbot as the antagonist. The setting is just as interesting as the burgeoning relationship between our boys!
10. The Ones To Call When It All Falls Apart by tiredbliss (3832 words) rated G
The tone of Matt's voice had Foggy on alert immediately. It wasn't filled with the usual bravado or certainty that came when he called. It lacked the soothing gentleness that appeared when he had he returned home safely. He sounded quiet. Unsure. A little shaken unless Foggy was imagining that.
All things that pointed to something being very, very wrong.

A lingering injury gets the best of Matt, despite his stubbornness to push through. Foggy is there to make sure heâs okay (and remind him of a few things.)
Sweet hurt/comfort at its finest: when Matt gets a concussion, Foggy is the first person he calls. Featuring some great banter, read this if you need your heart warmed!
11. A plot for reconciliation by AUofGoldandFantasies (9438 words) rated G
Mike is back home for good, but after years of flitting in and out of Matt's life, his brother wants nothing to do with him. As attempt after attempt to reconnect fail, Mike is close to giving up. But when Marci takes a chance interest in his plight and offers to lend him some of her social engineering skills to make it happen, things finally begin to look up.
This fic centers on Matt and Mike's brotherly relationship, inventing a past for them where they've long-since drifted apart. It also includes a healthy dose of Marci and her famous problem-solving! Both fun and sweet!

The corner of Mattâs mouth twitches downward, and his fingers still on the strap of his cane. âSo, he just gave you his cat.â
âYup! He was all, you take care of her now, er, himâI canât remember exactly. As you may recall the world was shaking at the time, and I had very real worries about imminent death. But Iâm just a man; what mere mortal could say no when someone so, soâso important in our history asks you something so simple? Of course I would happily protect his little Fluffball with everything in me!â
Matt mumbles something.
âHm?â Foggy asks, finishing his coffee. Karen got them, in the end, to apologize for hitting Alpine and Foggy. Probably mostly Alpine.
âHe killed JFK,â Matt says, barely louder.

Or, what starts out as a fun morning office story ends up being an Absolutely Hilarious running bit when Foggy realises that Matt â and, to a lesser extent, Karen â absolutely hates hearing about it. Foggy hasnât had fun like this in ages. Even better, Mattâs adorably pinched irritated face and Karenâs hilariously strained polite smile are not the only new additions to Foggyâs life. There has definitely been an uptick of Strange Happenings.
Actually. Now, wait a damn minuteâ
Both fun and adorable, this fic features Foggy unexpectedly getting stuck taking care of the Winter Soldier's cat. This sparks some petty jealousy from Matt, which is always a welcome fic development! Leave some comments encouraging slippingfromreality to upload the rest!
13. Spare the sympathy (Everybody wants to be my enemy) by StripedScribe (6773 words) rated T
"Once you turn, they hate us.â
Magic had entwined around the very soul of Hellâs Kitchen, giving her inhabitants strange new powers. Most of them, at least. Some never gain theirs, and they are pitied for what they are missing. Itâs a hard deal for the Devil of Hellâs Kitchen, when everyone else around him can turn into an animal at will.
When Matt is lost beneath Midland Circle, his magic finally catches up to save him, and yet equally makes his life so much harder at the same time.
Almost in the vein of a good campfire story, a tale is woven here about animal transformation magic, and its collision with Matt's near death at Midland Circle makes for an absolutely gut-wrenching turn! Not for the faint of heart!
14. Love Me (As I Am) by Marv_with_a_v (63981 words) rated E
Matt Murdock is doing just fine suppressing nearly a decade of homophobia and trauma⌠at least until he meets Foggy Nelson and is forced to confront his intensifying feelings for him that call into question everything Matt has ever been taught about faith, love, and homosexuality.
An absolute doozy of a fic. If religious trauma and internalized homophobia are your jam, you're sure to find something to like here!
15. Me and the Devil by raggedyred (28778 words) rated T
The first time Foggy meets Hell's Kitchen's resident vigilante, itâs of course when he is being mugged.
Itâs really more of a sad affair, than anything else. For everyone involved, as it so happens, in some kind of ironic and pathetic way.
At least Foggy knows better than to have more than fifty bucks on his person when he is walking along past eleven at night. He sells it a little by including a (fake) frequent customer stampcard for Josieâs Bar that she never, not even once, has let him use. Some day.

Or: The Devil of Hell's Kitchen is perhaps a monster, and Foggy is endeared toward him, anyway.
Another one for the creature!Matt collection, this fic is both action-packed and lighthearted, and Foggy's fondness both for Matt and the vigilante monster he doesn't know are one and the same is heartwarming!
