I had such trouble coming up with what I wanted to say about this post because I couldn't find the right words. So today, I'll keep it shorter - here's to every experience that brought each of us to where we are and made us feel and be stronger, fight and love harder, and be more ourselves in a world that constantly pushes us to conform to something else ❤️

So I haven't posted in a while because things behind the screen got slightly (read highly) complicated - however things are all sorted now and we're moving forward! What was super interesting though was to truly think about whether my art was going to be a source of self love in this time, or was it going to be a source of stress. My number one priority this last month was sorting out my off-screen life and making my art unfortunately had to take a bit of a backseat. It really got me thinking of how we define self love and how sometimes doing the harder thing and taking a pause on making art was the way I loved myself more this last month. This said, I'm back and we're here and we persevere!! Much much love ❤️✨

Today was such a historic win for people in the LGBT community in India, gay sex was decriminalized!!! I've been so overjoyed all of today - so so happy and so I thought I would share a project I made for a final for a class last semester. The project was meant for a colonialism class and my artwork was meant to show a pre colonial views on sexuality, sex and sexuality during colonial times, and modern day sexuality. While I won't get into all the symbolism I tried putting together in my art I thought today was the perfect day to share this ❤️❤️ so proud of India and so damn happy y'all. I really really am.

The openness of this pose always makes me really happy - it's an openness and a freedom I aspire to. And on the days I do succeed in reaching that level, I always find myself at my happiest ❤️❤️
