he’s not sleeping. not after he had promised to wait for sherlock so they have dinner together at angelo’s. but there was a bout of flu in the surgery which had left the man busy for hours, working through lunch. then the tube had been mobbed, leaving him no spot to sit & half an hour behind schedule due to construction. sherlock had been meeting with lestrade & was hopefully taking rosie to molly’s for the evening before returning. resting his eyes for a moment wouldn’t hurt.

— A DRAMATIC EYE ROLL is sherlock’s response to the ridiculous wine comments. honestly, it astounded him how john failed to register very distinct notes & hints between the different bottles. blaming it entirely on the doctor’s failure to open the flavours of it properly before pouring a glass & taking a sip. many brief ( & a few not so brief ) disputes over the very subject had taken place in their kitchen. yet, the wine discrepancy aside, a smile flutters briefly to his mouth at the chaste kiss on the cheek. — “ i’ve told you time & time again, there are very strong differences & that cheap swill you try to buy has more in common with rubbing alcohol than actual wine ”

eyes roll at the ages old argument, ( really his fault for bringing it up at this moment, ) but it’s almost routine to bicker about it now. “ i’ve told you time & time again, that bloody oxygen has no effect on the wine that we drink. you’re just a bloody lunatic. “
