Vuyani Xundu was born in Soweto, Johannesburg in 1983. He was raised in a Tswana community from a Xhosa father and a Zulu mother. He matriculated at West Ridge High School in 2001 and took a few years off school to focus on his passion for Rugby. He started working at Standard Bank in 2007 and left the company in 2012 to follow his passion in photography and sports. He is interested in Music and Sports. His love for photography came from reading daily newspapers and a lot of Hip-Hop magazines. He was fascinated by sports photographers at Rugby matches with all the long lenses they use behind the rugby posts. Then he decided to buy his own camera and started taking photos around Soweto, while taking those photographs he got invited to take photos of events in and around Soweto.
