why is it important to calm your mind?
calming your mind is important for several reasons.
it helps reduce stress, which can improve your overall well-being. for example, practicing meditation or yoga can lower stress levels and enhance your emotional health.
a calm mind also improves focus, allowing you to concentrate better and be more productive, much like how reading a good book can help you escape and relax.
additionally, it enhances emotional health by helping you manage your emotions more effectively, leading to better mental health. for instance, journaling your thoughts and feelings can clear your mind and provide emotional clarity.
with a clear and calm mind, you can make more thoughtful and rational decisions, similar to how taking a walk in nature can help you think more clearly. calming your mind also improves sleep quality, which is essential for overall health.
engaging in activities like listening to calming music or taking a warm bath can promote better sleep. a relaxed mind is more open to new ideas and creative thinking, much like how drawing or painting can spark creativity.
finally, chronic stress can lead to various health issues, so calming your mind can have positive effects on your physical health as well. taking time to calm your mind can lead to a happier, healthier, and more balanced life.

upgrade your life by taking note of the objects you use most and slowly replace them with the most beautiful and high-quality versions of those things you can find.
For so long I have been scared of putting myself out there, posting my thoughts, likes, feelings online. All this fear of judgement and conflict brushed under the carpet of brazen apathy , and today I ask myself what for? In the grand scheme of things what difference does it make?
I started using this wonderful platform at the age of seventeen. True to popular belief, my starry-eyed younger self genuinely thought she knew all there is to know in this world, or at least she was on the path to affirmative success and glory. She stood on the shoulders of giants and saw the world as a globe full of endless possibilities. She was confident, brave, smart and ready.
I discontinued the use of Tumblr when I was eighteen. Now I return to see the ‘17’ in my profile bio sit there and stagnate for the past two years, a grim satire at my also stagnating hopes and dreams. What all has changed in all these two years cannot be surmised in a simply worded Tumblr post, but wherever my seventeen year old self is now, all I want to do is give her a big, long hug. I miss her. I wonder where she went.
She exists within me it seems,
her bits and pieces scattered throughout like broken glass
Sometimes I catch their reflection.
Alas, even the shine of that diminutive shard glares me,
Frightens me,
Reminds me,
Sorrows me
maybe mediocrity isn’t wrong. maybe you don’t need to be the best at everything you do. maybe you don’t need to be the best at anything you do. it’s ok to simply do things because you enjoy doing them. its ok to not want to advance in your job. nothing has to be a competition. you don’t need to be better than anyone. you can do things just because they’re fun. you don’t need to read up on the history, and know everything about it. its ok to just exist. its ok.

My student has been doing so well. She's moved on from additions in just 2 days :'). Today, we'll be doing subtractions but more specifically, trying to practice subtracting single-digit numbers before double digits. After her session, then it's crunch time to finish with my TTMIK Level 1 book!
Deep Dive - 60s Psych Pop
Join Crispy on a trip back to the 1960s, a time when everything was new and nothing was impossible.
This Deep Dive will visit what will be, to many, familiar subject matter.
You may ask yourself, ‘What’s so left-field about this lot? Almost every track was a chart hit after all.’
And yes, you would be correct, but when seen in the context of what came before, it represents something akin to an earthquake – the literal birth of a cultural medium still with us to this day.
Before the arrival of bands such as Cream, The Small Faces, The Who, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, there was very, very little. Take away a couple of exceptions (Elvis Presley, Little Richard, and Link Wray cases in point) and the world’s radios were awash with parent-friendly crooners and novelty comedy singles. With the arrival of bands like The Byrds, The Zombies and Love, the charts became suddenly vital and vibrant in equal measure.
Colour – trippy, psychedelic colour for that matter – had arrived. TV sets began transmitting in yellow, blue, red, and green and this incredible music, perhaps more than anything else, summed up the spirit of the age best.
There was virtually full employment; rationing and austerity were dead. Youth culture had arrived, and with its newfound consumerism came the opportunity for savvy record labels to prise this disposable income from baby boomers’ pockets. By the decade’s end, the pop charts had become a way of life, and with such wonderful music on offer, the 3-minute single had, in a very short space of time, become a perfected art form.
It could never last – nothing ever stays the same – and by the mid-1970s the album had begun to take the single’s place as the punter’s preferred medium; but for a golden, ever-so-brief chunk of time and space, the psychedelic single ruled. Come and join Crispy on a trip back to a time when it all had to be said in four minutes or less.
Artists include The Beatles, The Who, Love, The Byrds, Small Faces, Cream & The Rolling Stones.

It’s okay to be a beginner at the things you are interested in. There is no reason to feel intimidated by people more advanced than you are, because they too were in your place at one point. Keep learning and growing and expanding in whatever it is that you love and let nothing and no one stop you. You don’t have to be at the same stage as someone else. You can just be at your stage and that one is okay too.
