in my mind yuta can only really date maki because. being a Boyfriend would feel awesome for yuta like really really great and it would also bring all of his worst traits to the forefront and be really miserable to watch. he loves to fill a role, he loves to lose an independent identity, he loves to validate his own existence through another person. he loves to be someone's Boyfriend. he gets a list to check off of things to do (open doors, pull out chairs, hold hands) and in reward he gets basically everything he's ever wanted. and loses himself thoroughly in the process obviously. there is the little rika hiccup but if his girlfriend can ignore that so can he. he can be so happy and good guys just watch ^w^.
