Thought of the day: If Showtime at Six was a real-life animatronic stage show, Daisy Daily's ears would be able to flap around and be held up much like Dook LaRue's ears

He didn't even do anything 😭
I think Earl Schmerle and Mr. Peckles should do lunch. They have a lot in common
I can't believe Mr. Peckles weaseled his way into the Showbiz Pizza continuity /j
Me, a few days ago: All right, that's my Chuck E. Cheese brushing-up done! I do wonder how the Showbiz Pizza characters will stack up to Munch's Make-Believe Band...
Me, now having watched a clip compilation or two for every character in The Rock-AFire Explosion:
Obsessed.
Also... Happy Trans Day of Visibility! 🏳️⚧️💙✨
Smol doodle I drew of a casual Daisy; somebody really ought to tell her that it's okay to take breaks. Alas, her pursuit to be the perfect journalist taunts her so...
Squawk! Rounding off the quintet is the cantankerous and crass Mr. Peckles, the Rainbow Dodo! After being personally interviewed by Daisy Daily, he never bothered to leave the premises afterward. Now, perched up high on a stage light within the studio, he likes to provide Showtime at Six with what he calls his own brand of 'real-time constructive criticism'... to him, the show should really be called 'Mr. Peckles' Showtime at Six' instead.
This is Daisy Daily reporting live for Channel 81 News! Always eager to get the lowdown on the world around her, this amiable meerkat is almost never seen without her microphone. Whether the circus is in town or life has been discovered on Mars, you can count on Daisy Daily to be right there on the scene to deliver you the deets!
Also she is my wife and I love her so rthrrjrtkgitujreidjrgr aa 💛💛💛
LAST POST TODAY PROMMY
Seeing as tomorrow I'll have all five Showtime at Six bio posts up, is there anything Ricky Rhino's related (Ooh, alliteration!) y'all would want to see next? There are still a handful of character concepts I'm labbing with, and I'm in the process of sketching out an extremely early draft of the stage design, though that won't be ready for a little while.
In the meantime, a few ideas I had were:
Assorted script pages of various Showtime at Six show tapes
Faux animation cels for a cel-animated Ricky Rhino's commercial (This happens to be my specialty lmao)
Opening up asks for the Showtime at Six cast (It would put the fonts I have for each one to good use; you'd get a personalized handwritten 'letter' in response)
I do still want to stress I'll be crafting some Showbiz Pizza/Pizza Time Theatre content down the line, though seeing as Showtime at Six seems to be quite the hit, I just thought I'd ask. If there's anything you'd like to see, please let me know in the replies <333
I deeply apologize for who I will become when I post Daisy Daily's bio on this blog tomorrow— it will become very clear that I, uhm. Have a 'slight' thing for her 💛
When it comes to the wide world of sports, Barney B. Ball is your designated hitter. He may be a bit oafish, though his passion for baseball as well as many other lesser-known ball sports is very much admirable. He also happens to be the only star of Showtime at Six to not be done up in formal attire... it adds to his charm.
Today's forecast calls for a giraffe who always seems to have his head in the clouds— it's Lenny Longneck! As the funny man to Ricky's straight man, he tends to steal the show during his ridiculously entertaining weather block.
I am so sorry to be overposting, but I just couldn't wait to get this up (Right at six o'clock, too)! Meet Ricky Rhino, the benevolent and snazzy front man of the Showtime at Six quintet! With his engaging anecdotes and a voice as smooth as velvet, he fits the bill of a talk show host to a tee!
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting such a positive response from my previous post revealing Ricky Rhino's Showtime at Six— let alone fans already! Such a lovely reception just makes me so happy. This weekend, I'm going to start rolling out the renders I've drawn for the characters I've already designed in neatly packaged bio posts.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this Pizza Time Theatre inspired pin set I designed using the renders I drew of the Showtime at Six gang to put up on my RedBubble, alongside a Ricky Rhino's shirt! If for whatever reason you're interested in either, DM me and I'd be happy to send you a link to them. <33333
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls... settle on in for a live show you won't wanna miss— the name's Ricky Rhino, and this is Showtime at Six!"
Here it is— the main quintet of characters (And by extension, a logo) for my talk show/news broadcast hybrid animatronic stage show, Showtime at Six starring Ricky Rhino and his pals!
Ricky Rhino's as a stage show can best be described as a 'middle ground' between the vibes of late nineties Chuck E. Cheese as well as the supposed adult oriented vibe of the elusive Zapp's Bar & Grill. It's stage show both children and adults can enjoy!
You can expect me to be posting a lot of Showtime at Six content in the days to come; I'm working on full-body renders for the main cast and am looking into designing even more characters for it. Hoping y'all enjoy this first look!
🕹️ Hello! 🕹️
My name is Julia, and this is a sideblog dedicated to posting about all things vintage entertainment, whether that's animatronic stage shows or arcade games.
I made this sideblog in an attempt to connect with and make friends within the Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz Pizza (Are those synonymous? If they are I only ask for your patience, I'm new to the fandom) communities.
I am very much familiar with the Chuck E. Cheese franchise from having grown up with what it was in the late nineties to mid-2000s, though I'll admit my knowledge on the Rockafire Explosion is... well, a bit lacking. If there's anyone out there who's willing to yap to me about the characters and lore, I'd be more than happy to listen. Please DM me!
Moreso, I'm working on my very own animatronic stage show, and that's another reason this sideblog came to be. Hoping this post will be noticed, I really want to get to know some of y'all. <333
(Special thanks to @sister-lucifer for the awesome dividers!)
