Back to the future: returning to live in the same house twenty years later
In Rome, MORQ Architects renovated a home from the thirties, giving it a contemporary makeover while keeping the original atmosphere. The reinterpretation of the Studio -according to the owner’s directives, Nina Ferrante who is back in the same house she lived in some years ago- is stunning and truly chic!

Kungsbacka | Form Us With Love
Swedish design studio, Form Us With Love, have collaborated with IKEA to create the KUNGSBACKA line of kitchen fronts that are made entirely from recycled plastic bottles and reclaimed industrial wood. They choose to look at used plastic bottles as a resource, instead of waste, with 25 plastic bottles being used for every 40x80cm unit. The fronts are finished in a matte, anthracite grey, each with chamfered edges that add a bit of detail to the sleek fronts.
Throwback Thursday: Banque Lambert
This year we celebrate the golden anniversary of Banque Lambert, SOM’s first major building outside of the United States for a foreign client. The commission from the Brussels-based financial institution Banque Lambert also served as one of SOM architect Gordon Bunshaft’s first experiments with the expressive qualities of pre-stressed concrete. Here a load-bearing concrete facade cantilevers beyond the ground floor’s glazed perimeter, and viewed alongside the slightly tapered roofline, the facade’s sculptural pins and tails almost seem to float.
