Head-scarves were worn in Europe, mostly in Russia and in many parts of Europe and the Balkan region. In some branches of Judaism, women are required to cover their heads with scarves. Head scarves and veils are used by Christian women in the Eastern Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodox Church, Assyrian Church of the East, and Roman Catholic Church. Why is it that the Western society only views Muslim women as oppressed and their head scarves  as a symbol of their oppression?!

Don’t be robotic with Allah when making du’a. Don’t just sit there and recite your du’a. Have a heartfelt conversation with Him. Don’t suppress your emotions, let them flow. Talk to Him. Tell Him how you feel, why you feel the way you feel, why you need Him to answer you. Show Him how needy you are of Him. Beg Him. Cry to Him.

Nothing should stand between you and God. No imams, priests, rabbis or any other custodians of moral or religious leadership. Not spiritual masters and not even your faith. Believe in your values and your rules, but never lord them over others. If you keep breaking other people’s hearts, whatever religious duty you perform is no good.

If the fact that people turn away from you or speak ill of you causes you suffering, return towards the knowledge of God in you; if this knowledge is not sufficient, then lack of satisfaction in the knowledge of God is a far greater trial than that people speak ill of you. The purpose of this slander is that you should not rely on people; God wishes to bring you back from all things so that nothing may distract you from Him.

One of the tragic aspects of human existence is that when we remove God from our search, whatever we call God, if the Buddhists talk about Ultimate concern/Ultimate reality; this is still coming approximating our understanding of God. God is ultimate concern; if we remove ultimate concern from our lives, we have to find substitutes. This is human nature. We will find a substitute to fill that hollow space within man because man is essentially a hollow being.
