This is the dream, it is coming to life. Whats the dream, well I will tell you, it is a skyscrapper of farms. All within 1 chunk. This is in an effort to not only consolidate a bunch of farms so gathering stuff is quick, it is also in an effort to make the farms as statistically efficient and fast as possible. The benefit of doing this is that whenever a block in this chunk is selected for an update, the chance of it being a block that has something to grow is high. and whenever this one chunk is loaded, the farm will be on. Unlike my reed farm at a village, that is very big but, is rarely loaded because I am rarely over there. The first picture is just some more building, I really want to go crazy with the front facade. I want small symmetries, not overall symmetry. And hopefully it will come together, as for the second one, I separated the wheat and the carrots into two separate layers, nothing complicated there.

What is this? comparators, and hoppers, and droppers? Well you wouldn't know that they are droppers but they are, and this is all for a nether wort farm that auto harvests and stores the harvested nether wort for you in a chest. How does this work, well items on top of soul sand will get sucked up in a hopper, because soul sand is not 1 block tall, it's a little less. and there is only one hopper at the end of each nether wort line, so I use a water stream to harvest the wort, and push it all into one block where the hoppers, this required a little redstone action, but it's all good, basically if there is any nether wort in a hopper, then a comparator tells all of the water streams to keep flowing. This is so all the nether wort gets picked up, then hoppers move all of the wort into a dropper. A comparator then activates a clock when there are items inside the dropper, which pumps the items up into a chest. Yeehaw automizing!!

You see what that is? Nether Quartz m'man. But like all updates, in order to find this stuff in your world, you have to go to unloaded chunks in the nether. But that isn't very hard, because once you go find some unloaded nether chinks this stuff is super common. But it is annoying that the unloaded chunks have to be in the nether, because you have to travel very far in the over world in order to have a newly built portal go to un-generated nether chunks, so I would just recommend walking in the nether for a while. Again, this stuff is common, so don't worry.

Im back in vanilla! Holla! feed the beast got kinda old and the fact that a glitch in the mod would eat all the memory I had allocated to it kinda wrecked that. But the 1.5 prerelease is out and thats cool, so thats what I am playing on, just updated today so I won't go into detail on that, but I do have a random mining tip: if there is lava near your ore, have running water, the water will pacify the lava before the diamonds burn. The second picture is me jazzing up the home base, ya know throw some columns on that baby, I haven't actually built a lot, so this is new fun stuff.

Umm I think I have finally found a winning Feed the Beast world, this is basically a single player world, but I open up to LAN a little. But anyway, I am currently not really that advanced, we have an MFE, thats about it. We do however have a coal coke oven, thats how we power our machines, which is an industrial electrolyzer, compressor, extractor, and a recycler, so not that advanced. The coal coke is a pretty good way to get really cheap energy, firstly it doesn't actually cost anything to turn coal into coal coke. So you just make the oven out of bricks and sand, so really cheap. Then you just put coal in it and wait, oh and have a tank to collect the creosote oil. It takes like 2 minutes to make a coal coke, that is why its not a great energy source. For now it works. Lastly does anybody actually have an idea for what I should do with the creosote oil??

It must be the differences in the modpack, I play on a server with a few friends that's on hard permanently, we hardly have trouble with Zombies and the like.

Woah Macerators shouldn't be costing you that much, but I play with 1.4.2 Beta A, different pack?

I think the matter is Gregtech with the world set on hard mode, the mod made changes to make hard harder apparently, basically the only two things that I can think of that it did was macerators and making angry zombies hell. Playing in Mindcrack pack, for the snapshot updates!

Hey Guys, so latest FTB stuff, so if you play on a certain difficulty in your FTB world, good luck making macerators, Gregtech made them super impractical, requiring advanced circuits and DIAMONDS for cryin out loud, while I do see there point in not wanting players to double their ores right off the bat, but when i'm that rich, im skipping macerators and heading to grinders or somethin like that. But Gregtech can't hold me back, there is this.. The Pulverizer, its cooler than the macerator and hella cheap, 3 gold and 5 iron and 2 copper. Hella cheap, so make that and put your ores in it the smelt the dust, double your ores early. I will talk about configurations in next post, because they are the coolest, and put this thing way over a macerator in terms of coolness.

This is an actual picture of my feed the beast world, I am running on the latest mod pack, which is the mindcrack mod pack. I have an inability to find diamonds i currently have none and no diamond materials. What i did was make a enchanting table off of 2 that I found around the desert temples ect. I live in a village, but I will probably move to a bit of oil and a hole that leads all the way down to level 11. Diamonds maybe?? But this is feed the beast, so you get levels like crazy. I was at level 36, then i did a level 30 on an emerald pick, got a good un. unbreakin 3 eff 4 and silk touch, diamonds cant hold me back. I'll go through set up next episode

I've been experimenting with some mods! aka tekkit and then Feed the beast, i was running tekkkit on my server until I realized that after an hour, the ram required was too much, and running on minecraft 1.2.5 was not a great thing either. Just for the small things, like shift clicking armor was annoying. Tekkit also seemed like it had a million things that didn't really streamline the experience. Feed the Beast, however was very cool, the main thing about Feed the Beast that makes it better than tekkit is that it runs on the latest version of minecraft. For me this is great because i can just LAN a world, which is really all I need. Therefore requiring a lot less ram.

just like this dude, I am uninformed in minecraft now so this is me every other week it seems like now when Minecraft gets a new update

In the old days it would be like months for a patch

I Like building farms, thats one thing thats cool about minecraft, that if you think hard enough, or know of the people that look into minecraft code to see how the game spawns, wither skeletons (for example) than you can make a farm out of that. While carrots are not as hard as wither skeletons, and are much more figured out, they sill pose some challenges. My farm layer is 2 8x16s, so I hydrate all the blocks, ect. ect. My harvesting method is light. If you turn off the lights all the stuff will pop out, then you walk in and replant, because of the water sources being in the middle of the farm, I decided not to use water, it messes every thing up. Oh and one final note on farms, always make them in one chunk, if possible because, when the game checks a chunk it then checks a block in that chunk for updates, and if every block in said chunk can grow a crop, than you are guaranteed** a growth. ( a chunk is x and y divisible evenly into whole numbers by 16)

**it is much more complicated than this, there are growth formulas which is another thing entirely.

I was bored in my smp world so i decided to do work on the mountain i found. Guys who have been around for a while know that i went to this area to mine emeralds when 1.3 hit. Seems so long ago. But anyway, the goal here is to create a very empty space, to provoke thought and other simple things in the inhabitant. To do this I am making the floor very level, even and uniform, while cutting out all the dirt from the walls and ceiling and letting the stone carry on in its natural abstract forms. Plus building is something I rarely do, and this was a relaxing experience.

New fangled fancy pants rePeaters have just been released in the new 1.4, and what the hell do they do? Well there are some implications for circuits and most of it is just compactness. Just like the original repeater did for minecraft when there was only torches and wire, now locking repeaters happen, and they don't actually change too much, yet. This pic is what repeaters used to be. enjoy the nostalgia old schoolers.

And Were cavin, in the hole. This a annoying water fall in the mineshaft, it will be even more annoying with the coming of the 1.4 sounds, which I don't like by the way. That sucked (The waterfall). Look another fucking spider spawner, this is dumb that they are here, but look ay my armor bar, thats diamonds with an iron helmet. So I rarely die, the closest I came to the edge in this trip was on fire and being attacked by a gaggle of mobs in a dark hole. I will leave you with this crap hole, I mean come on minecraft, get your crap together i don't want to see anymore of this kind of mineshaft generation ever ever.

Cavin sesh yall! This is that long lost mine shaft that wasn't so lost after all, so yeah. This was a long caving sesh so I'm gonna break it up, see this as and introduction to the long sesh I did. Look at this lava, its cool, but at the same time dumb. Lava's dumb. Oh and this is how long i caved, got a stack of my favorite block now, which is gold, and i got 14 chests from dungeons and the like, no gold records sadly. So lets jump in to this mine shaft, part one out of some amount.
