Sheila Hershey Tells Us Why She Loves Charterhouse Edinburg by Jeffrey Lancaster
Leanne, one of our Resource Parent Recruiters in Farmville, is really passionate about finding great families to add to our team of enthusiastic foster parents.
Do you think you have what it takes to be a foster parent with UMFS?
UMFS was a top 5 finalist for the Community Innovation Grant, a $500,000 grant from the Robins Foundation, in support of our dynamic Extreme Recruitment Program. Extreme Recruitment is an innovative family locating program that uses private investigators as well as social services resources to find family connection for some of the hardest-to-place youth.
Though UMFS did not win the grant, the region's at risk youth still won. The grant was awarded to Richmond, VA non-profit Art 180, to develop a program that combines art and advocacy for youth in prison. Click over to the Richmond Times Dispatch for more information about this potentially life-changing program.
A little Behing the Scenes Action...
John and Tammy are two of our most active foster parent recruiters and they created this video to help galvanize prospective foster parents to taking the next step onto the road of becoming full fledged members of the UMFS family!
John wants to know if there are any outgoing, child focused people who want to volunteer with UMFS?
