Sometimes you have to take a break during a full day of studying for a face mask and selfies. My excuse is that I got a new highlighter XD

My babies! Now both tri-paw’ds. Natasha (the white one) is still recovering from her amputation while Wonder Woman has adjusted and had her fur grow back and is now my beautiful attention whore.
How do people not like cats?

How my desk looks when I start to study vs. when I’m in the middle of it. You could say I spread out.

Some of my recent faves! My cat, Pretty City London, and the Maypole soap from Lush. Honestly, I would buy a dozen bottles if they made it’s scent into a perfume.

Silky PJs and reading about incredible women is the ideal way to end the day. Especially since I’m so harried about a research project but I’ll let you know about that at another time.

Some shots of the Potomac view at my job. One from last week and one from January where the steam is melting snow and ice.

What happens when you’re too busy to write stuff down in your bujo (and honestly, I’m lucky if it makes it into my calendar, but it always makes it onto my to do list). At least I can finally plan for watching To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before with my bestie :3

Sundays are for self-care! Love these Origins masks by the way! The blue one did wonders for my hormonal acne flare up! <3

I get all ready to study and then I get an interruption from my darling. Wonder Woman just loves attention, and I get it to her without hesitation. I love my cats so much.
And I want three more. Or five. Or seven.

So this summer I got into reading the original (or at least I think its the original, I don’t know) Nancy Drew series. My mom has the entire series and over the weeks of limited academic work, I got to the forty-fifth title (out of over fifty) and I hope to complete the series by my birthday.
I also got into the original Nancy Drew audiobooks (Books 1-10, 12), then the Nancy Drew Diaries audiobooks (complete series, actually have higher reading level than original series, most recent iteration of the girl detective), then the original Hardy Boys series audiobooks (only books 1-7 now, 1-10 available). And finally, the new Hardy Boys Adventures audiobooks (complete series, most recent iteration of the Hardy Boys saga). Please tell me I’m not the only one.
I was into the Nancy Drew PC games. But since we’ve been waiting for Midnight In Salem since 2015, I’ve been bored but desperate for Nancy and I found it!

New bulletin board details. Swapped out kpop idols for flowers and motivational, feminist quotes. Expanded my Nationals pin collection to fill a couple holes that unfortunately won’t be filled with another set of playoff pins. I am not at all disappointed about that, at least not today. My main boy Trea hit a home run this week.
At my office I also switched cubes from the DC side, where I had a lovely view of construction, to the river side, with views of the Potomac and a now-taken-care-of wasp nest (the building is not especially run down, it’s just old).

Here’s to a new week of school, having labor day off (which I spent seeing crazy rich asians again and painting my nails after spending most of sunday doing legos, you know, like real adults do), and trying to get back into my bujo!

Doing some studying for my Celtic art course with chocolate (I actually thought the tin had tea until I realized it was the chocolate Hersheys not some kind of tea hersheys...) I picked this course because I believe I have a Celtic heritage and I wear an Irish Claddagh ring to honor it.

My favorite photography books, which I’m flipping through for Sunday relaxation. Plus, some polaroids of my babies. You will hear a lot abut my babies. Deal.

More from my feminist reads of the summer. This one was heavy (what can you do about the writings from Harvard philosophers?) But everything she said rang true (even though she only really used maybe five big examples throughout the book, and for something like misogyny, which is so present in our culture, I would have preferred more examples). Still, if you want to get a philosophical perspective on it, I recommend it.
The gist is that people react badly when women neglect feminine roles (ex. being nurturing), seek masculine roles (ex. the presidency), and people will do fantastic mental gymnastics to come up with reasons for this they can articulate that do not reflect their implicit icky feeling they get from women doing these things.

Over the summer, I adopted two new babies! The darker one is Wonder Woman while the lighter one is Natasha (as in Black Widow) and they are now both tri-paw’ds without their right, front legs. I am now much more of a crazy cat lady.
