I've been this afternoon in this amazingly cute public library near montreal. I read 2hs about The League of Nations' history, and I made a selection of various books about International Law.

The one I'm most anxious to read is America America, A new history of the new world, because it seems a new great american history bible, but I also feel that the Climate Changes and Indigenous People must be fascinating !

There sure are a lot of public figures rushing to condemn the assassination, who have embraced the genocide for the past two years. A lot of emphasis on how "political violence is never the answer," yet apparently that is the "answer" for 680,000 Palestinians.

Soooo its not totally "back to school" but I least we managed to succeed on the main goal of the week : we found an appartment AND moved in in only 5 days (we arrived at Montreal the 2nd).

That's what I call being productive no ? Now on to the serious business : go back to study by myself and find a job.

Soooooo after 20 monthes in Latin America, including 12 on the road, we finally arrived yesterday in Montreal, Canada.

I already found a favorite old bookshop downtown, but now after one day walking and enjoying the city, it's time to get productive.

Goals of the "back to school in a new town" week :

Find an appartment (already wrote messages for 18 units today)

Find a job (I hope it will be alright and quick, hopefully since i speak french english and spanish it would help) (already re-did my curriculum in french this afternoon)

Buy some photo material as paper, chimicals and films and find a laboratory

Continue to auto-learn International Law before going back to France in 2 years

i dont think whites understand how being white makes literally everything easier.

it effects everything.

being trans is easier when youre white.

being gay is easier when youre white.

being disabled is easier when youre white.

being a woman is easier when youre white.

being autistic is easier when youre white.

oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.

you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.
