That moment when you finish to read “ Eleanor & Park”…
Why is it cute and trendy for girls to wear men’s flannel shirts and baggy boy’s sweatpants, but when a boy tries to wear anything remotely close to girl’s clothes, they are considered “girly” or “gay”?
Do you know why?
Do you want to know why?
Because our society thinks its degrading to be feminine.
GIVE THIS THING AS MANY NOTES AS POSSIBLE. EVERYBODY MUST SEE THIS AND HAVE IT ON THEIR BLOG. HOLY SHIT.
No its because most boys look ridiculous in girls clothes, but girls look decent in “boyfriend” clothes. Stop trying to make EVERY THING into some form of female oppression.
It’s not “boyfriend” clothes. Clothes do not inherently have gender, they are pieces of fabric and no one cares about your hetero insertions. There was a time when it was normal for young men to wear dresses, clothing was much more gender neutral.
Cute little boys in their boy dresses!
And dresses and skirts look fine on men:
In different cultures around the world different items of clothing are worn that in many countries would be seen as feminine:
And they all look fabulous as fuck, like wow!
The only reason you think so now is because you are socialised differently. Which is ok, that happens, but when you assert things as facts and don’t look at any of the culture behind them you looking like an anal fissure.
Do not project your issues onto other men, men can wear whatever the fuck they want and look fabulous as hell.
YES YES YES!
This is relevant to my interests.
"never a reason why a mother... " I'm not one for name-calling, but you need to understand that there are reasons why some kids would hold contempt against their mothers. My mom suffers from mental issues, and as young as 5, she has been emotionally, financially, and on occasion physically abusive, sometimes asserting a great deal of harm against my sister. Even my friend lent his mom who abandoned him at 8, $10,000, and never paid him back because "she gave birth to him". Women can be abusers.
Congrats, that’s some pure misogyny right there.
First of all if you’re going to call your mom a bitch, for any reasons, you’re a piece of shit. No exceptions. I don’t care what you think, if the best insult you can toss around is a slur that degrades them as women, you’re garbage.
Second of all, don’t use your mom’s mental health as an excuse to shit on women. Women react in retaliation against patriarchal norms all the time, and if her mental health comes across as somehow “financially” harmful, cry me a river, and make sure they’re extra salty. ‘
And abuse? Sweetheart women cannot abuse men, there is a difference between retaliating and abuse, and while both are harmful in varying degrees, the consequences of retaliation do not par that of the abuse caused by the cycle of abusive men. Have you ever considered that maybe your mom’s mental health is the result of trauma from her father/uncle/brother(s)?
Of course not, nobody’s head could be stuck up their asses as much as you.
And don’t even dare to throw your friend’s mom under the bus either. For what reason does she need to pay him back all that money? If you’re going to give you’re mom that much money, why would you stupid enough to expect that all back. The best she could say is thank you, but why say that to the same people that are likely going to pay 25 cents less for every dollar a man makes?
Seriously, you anti-sjw types piss me off - Melody
Oh my god this is disgusting. This better be a joke because this is absolutely appalling. What the fuck? Get help. This is by far the most disgusting thing I’ve read all year
The only disgusting thing by far here, is this white cishet’s message in my inbox.
This is fucked up. This is so fucked up. My father was PHYSICALLY abused by his mother. He has SCARS. Fuck you @melody-of-chaos. You are NOT a feminist. You are the FARTHEST THING from a feminist. Please, GET HELP.
If you don’t think I’m a feminist, then there’s something really wrong with you.
Mothers can be abusive, mine very well was. She refused to see that my step-father was bad for me and beat me constantly. Not every man or woman is abusive. People are abusive. Yes, men are abusive sometimes. Yes, men do rape women sometimes. But other times, women are abusive. Other times, women rape men. We’re all equal. Each human is just as responsible. No matter what you’re race or sex or gender is. We all need to live up to that expectation. We will all be equal. Men, women, everyone. We live together, we fight together.
@foxdaddi that’s all right. Sorry, i don’t speak english, but you have reason.
We are HUMANS. I am not a feminist, I simply hate abusers, both men and women.
Humans are adorable.
Supporting evidence:
1. Humans say ‘ow’, even if they haven’t actually been hurt. It’s just a thing they say when they think they might have been hurt, but aren’t sure yet.
2. Humans collect shiny things and decorate their bodies and nests with them. The shinier the better, although each individual has a unique taste for style and colouring
3. Humans are not an aquatic or even amphibious species, but they flock to bodies of water simply to play in it. They can’t even hold their breath all that long; they just love to splash!
4. When night falls and the sky goes dark, humans become drowsy and begin to cocoon themselves in soft, fluffy bedding.
5. Some humans spend time in each other’s nests! Just for fun! It’s not their nest; they’re just visiting each other.
6. Some humans use pigments and dyes to make their bodies flashy and colourful! They even attach shiny dangly bits to their cartalidgous membranes!
7. Humans are very clever, and sometimes adopt creatures from other species into their family units. They don’t seem to notice the obvious differences, and often raise them alongside their own young!
8. If a human sees another creature in distress, they can commonly be observed trying to help! Even at their own risk, most humans are deeply compassionate creatures!
9. If a human hears a particularity catchy sound or tune, it will often mimic it, even to the point of annoying themselves!
10. Sneezes are entirely involuntary, and completely adorable. Especially when the human in question becomes frustrated
11. Humans love treats!!! Some more than others. Many humans will save these treats specifically for a later date when they are in need of comfort or reassurance. IE, pickles, pop tarts, Popsicles, etc
12. They’re learning to travel in space!!! They can’t get very far, but they’re trying!!! So far, they’ve made it to the end of their yard, and have found rocks
this sounds like it was written by a really enthusiastic alien humanologist
i love this because it makes me look at seemingly mundane things from a totally different perspective and appreciate humans so much more
this is actually so precious ohmygod

little self care tips
- apply Vaseline to your eyes, lashes, brows, and lips before bed
- never brush curly hair while it’s dry
- on that note, applying products/oil to curly hair while dry is useless
- use a t shirt to dry hair to avoid frizz
- sleep without pants. trust me.
- avoid watery body lotions like Vaseline’s lotion. only dries you out
- avoid crystalline, jagged scrubs (sugar, coffee. St. Ives, etc.). Use round/gentle ones like oatmeal
- avoid coconut oil on face. if you apply it to your hair wash your face afterwards
- don’t put lemon on your face. it might seem like it’s helping but it weakens its protective layer in the long run. if you do use it, dilute it and avoid sun for a while.
- no toothpaste on pimples either it’s a myth
- why do u have a bra on at home. take that shit off and live a little.
- apply deodorant before getting dressed so it doesn’t rub off on your clothes defeating the purpose
- reapply sunscreen every 3-4 hours
- don’t text the fuckboy he don’t care about you
- wake up 30 minutes earlier to have a more relaxed morning and avoid rushing
- wash panties by themselves so you don’t get the gross dirt and germs from your other clothes mixed in. dry them in the sun to kill bacteria if possible.
- hand wash all hijabs they’ll last longer
- don’t use rose water with added fragrance. always check label
- eat at least one fruit or vegetable a day
- leave menial tasks for the end of the day. don’t drain yourself before getting to the important stuff
- before saying something mean or a nasty joke, take 5 seconds to think about it.
- apologizing first doesn’t make you weak
- being vulnerable doesn’t make you weak
- exfoliate after using foundation or powder
- clean phone screen with rubbing alcohol/sanitizer
might add more later or y'all can reblog with your own tips

Black girls deserve to learn free from bias and stereotypes.
Most black girls experience this hatred at schools. And classmates are not the only problem, there is no support from teachers, too. That’s why they get so affected by their school experiences. Black kids deserve to be treated just like everybody else, they want to study, they want to learn something ,too. However due to prejudice they are 5 times more likely to be suspended than their white peers and it can ruin their lives forever. National Women’s Law Center created this video to change the situation. Join the movement to help black girls feel normal and get the same opportunities everybody else has.
