I feel like I don't really have an ed. Sometimes I can restrict for months at a time and I KNOW I can b/p for months at a time (it's hell). But mostly I just binge then overexercise and stay the same weight. Do you know any long term affects of that?
You do have an eating disorder. Even if you are diagnosed or don’t believe it’s valid. Restricting, overeating and overexercising will damage your health. Your metabolism will be wrecked. Even if you stay the same weight, you’ll lose muscle and that will be replaced with fat, which is lighter (thus more of it). You’ll look bigger with yo-yo dieting/restricting. Don’t yoyo restrict and diet. I know an eating disorder is mental and this is easier to say than do, but strive for health and a lifestyle change. Please don’t hurt yourself anymore. If you’re looking for a sign, here you go - please try to recover.
Here are some Medical Tips/Facts about EDs
1. If you are eating very little, make sure you are consuming some sodium (not too much) so that you don’t induce hypotension.
2. Make sure you eat a banana or potassium. Many people with EDs collapse without it.
3. Learn the difference between water soluble and fat soluble vitamins. In short, water soluble vitamins are flushed from your system after it extracts the needed bits. In fat soluble, the extra unused nutrients from the vitamins are stored in your fat/body and can become VERY toxic to you if you contain too much of it.
4. Do not exercise if you are fasting or have eaten very little. This can destroy your health so quickly.
5. If you aren’t eating enough for a very long time and are underweight, there’s a chance you will lose the ability to have kids/ make someone pregnant.
6. Laxatives and vomiting completely diminish you of electrolytes. Electrolyte potassium plays an important role in helping the heart beat and muscles contract. Make sure you replenish them via sports drinks, pickle juice, etc.
7. Your metabolism will crash. That’s why most former people with EDs end up rebounding into obesity.
8. Food restriction and/or vomiting will cause gastroenteritis. This in turn causes bloating and nausea (plus a whole slew of other symptoms.)
9. Severe binge eating has been known to actually rupture the stomach and cause a life-threatening condition.
10. The brain consumes around 1/5 of your consumed calories. Lowering your calorie consumption damages/impairs the brain.
11. You will lose your sex drive. The hormones, testosterone and estrogen, are produced by the fats and cholesterol we eat. If none present, the hormones fall.
12. Make sure you have some iron. You can self induce Anemia if you don’t.
13. Start recovering or encourage your followers to recover. We all know what damage we are doing to our bodies, so I don’t wish it on anyone else. Recover.

Hey guys. I’m glad to be finally posting my “mental breakdown survival guide”. As you know I struggle a lot with mental health, and so I have been through a lot of breakdowns. So many that I actually dropped out of university after 3 weeks in 2016 and had to take the whole year off. just a reminder
i lost 4 pounds in a week and the way i did it;
- 8 cups of water per day to decrease appetite
- i worked out every day this week to burn calories and build muscle
- i set little achievable goals like working out 5 minutes more after you would have given up
- put lemon juice in water to drink more water and decrease sugar cravings
- cold water to lower your internal temperature and burn calories to warm you back up (+ more water!)
- cold showers to burn calories
- sleep at 66 - 68 degrees (F) to burn calories and lower chances of diabetes

self control

Cheap vegan low cal soup
Yall idk how many people are gonna see this but I had to share this super simple recipe because it’s my absolute fav. The entire pot is about 300 calories, and it lasts for days, even if you have it for every meal of the day. Always be careful with restricting, and maybe have this alongside some more steamed veggies. Getting adequate nutrients is a must!!
Ingredients:
1 carrot (30cal)
1 celery stalk (10cal)
1 white onion (60cal)
3 cloves garlic (or less; it’s really just to taste) (15cal)
2 tomatoes (62cal)
1 bunch spinach (79cal) (sometimes I prefer using only half a bunch, but during THAT time of the month I feel as though a full bunch is needed, for extra iron)
3 tsp paprika (18cal)
2 tsp cayenne pepper (12cal)
2 tsp black pepper (12cal)
Salt (to taste, add to every bowl)
(Calories given are generous estimates)
Instructions:
Chop all ingredients EXCEPT spinach and add to large pot; add spices; add 8 cups of water. Bring everything to a boil, add spinach, lower heat to low or medium setting and let simmer for up to 1hr. Remove from heat, add salt to each bowl, and serve.
Obviously modify for your liking (this recipe is mildly spicy), and feel free to add in any other veggies (potatoes if you want to feel fuller, etc.)
If you give it a go, lemme know if you liked it or if any improvements could be made! I know for a fact I’ve beem wanting to add a bayleaf or some parsley for added flavour, just haven’t been able to afford such luxury ingredients lol.
