1.10.18// a calm little moment on this monday morning ✨ unfortunately, my mid-semester break has come to an end (*cries*). I had a horrible endo flare up for the first week of it and family commitments in the second week so suffice to say I got zero work done. It’s now time to jump back into the thick of it for the second half of the semester.
A spread I made about the game we had during our spiritual retreat where we wrote comments about each other in a post-it note and we stick it to the person who we would like to give it. I’ve been very busy these days with deadlines piling up plus my undergrad thesis is not thriving and the semester is already ending in like two weeks.

colourpop supernova shadow in over again is making my soul so happy
may favorites ~ beauty ed.
hey friends!! here’s my may favorites, beauty/makeup edition. i’ll be doing a skincare version of this as well, so stay tuned.
these are my favorite beauty/makeup/etc items of this semester!! i’ve put them all to wear tests and they have all become staples in my routine. for reference, i have a light/medium skin tone (changes in the summer) and combo/oily skin that is prone to breakouts (so i choose my products carefully!) **PLEASE** let me know if you want to see any swatches, wear photos, or anything for any . of these babies!!
1. colourpop super shock highlighter in flexitarian, $8
dang that’s quite a glow!! this is like, the ultimate champagne white gold type of glow that has complimented every single look and outfit i’ve worn with it. get this - with other makeup, or just my skin. also the perfect inner corner highlight. this shine doesn’t quit, but can be layered for various amounts of glow. colourpop has an excellent collection of highlighters, and amongst others that i own this one is definitely a favorite. something i always look for is how long it stays, and this one stays put all day with that dewy-wet-glowy look.
2. apotheke perfume oil rollerball in driftwood, $25
MY FRIENDS, I FOUND A DUPE FOR glossier glossier you perfume. i know, we all thought it couldn’t be done. this cute company from my native brooklyn makes all types of gorgeous scents in perfume oils and candles, and one day strolling through a local boutique and sampling them i was blown away by this scent. i adore it! it smells just like glossier you, just at a kinda more affordable $25 rollerball instead of a $60 bottle. it stays on, and is a gorgeous unisex scent that i can’t go without.
3. glossier boy brow in blond, $16
i wear this bad boy literally every day. like i’m a hoe for mascara and switch that up but i am loyal to this product! i have flashbacks to when i used to fill in my brows way too much for my taste which gives me chills but this product takes the pain away :’). this pomade does that groomed/filled in/natural brow look that i adore. and it lasts!! i love it and you best believe i have backups!!
4. seraphine botanicals chia + camellia eyeshadow palette, $30
i cannot believe i found this palette for such a good price!! original pricing on its website and other sources has been $52-$60. it is a gorgeous palette for sure, but that is hefty especially for its size and i am so glad i found it at a more affordable price. what can i say about this palette besides that you can create a whole look with it, it’s on the smaller size so totally travel-ready, never creases, has a variety of shades, blends gorgeously, with wonderful color payoff. it is always my go to, and the one i reach for no matter the look i am going for. the middle shade is often my base or my crease, and the gorgeous champagne shade is often my brow highlight or inner corner or even all over the lid - probably my most worn shade ever!
5. flower beauty flower pots blush in wildrose, $10
like, idk, beautiful consistency in a powder blush, great pan size, and gorgeous pigment. i use this on my eyes and my cheeks and it doesn’t crease or fall out anywhere! i have this in a classic hot pink shade and i love it. it blends really well and is very buildable - this color was a step out of my comfort zone but now i can’t live without it!
6. eyeko london lash alert mascara, $26
* also on ulta and nordstrom rack
what can i say besides i have tried maybe 25 mascaras and this one has got to be my favorite to date. it is pricey, and i definitely have drugstore alternatives, but man oh man i love this one. i have put this one totally to test and i have cried a ton and it does not budge whatsoever!! it is not marketed as waterproof but has withstood many intense cries, but doesn’t make me rip out my lashes when i take it off! it doesn’t fall or melt off over the course of the day, even after long days. it maintains intense volume with separation of my lashes and tons of definition. isn’t a huge task to apply, and doesn’t make a mess. what can i say, i think it is timeless and just so, so good.
7. smashbox always on gel liner in fishnet, $18.50
* also on ulta
imma be honest, i’m not a huge eyeliner gal. i adore makeup but am not a huge full coverage full face of makeup every day gal, and i guess that is part of why eyeliner is not a staple in my routine (i’m awfully biased to my excessive mascara collection). this one though, dANG. this product has tempted me to make it a part of my daily routine. it is a gel pencil, so nothing too fancy for me, an eyeliner novice. lemme tell you, first day i experimented with this and wore it on my waterline and both my lashlines, i cried a lot. like i’m talking, consistently for multiple hours. and this baby didn’t budge! it’s not marketed as waterproof, but it stayed the heck on and had that cute freshly smudged look all day long, from start to finish. smashbox gets their products right, what can i say!
8. baby lips moisturizing lip gloss in taupe with me, $9
* $5 on the maybelline website
not ashamed of this baby lips product in the slightest!! sure, i first tried it out freshman year of high school, but i search the web endlessly for this product to make sure it is a part of my routine, always. it is my favorite nude lip gloss, and it is literally always in my bag. sure, it doesn’t have that all day shine, but it is a moisturizing gloss that does its job, so it melts in nicely. it has that nice nude-y sheen but never over the top. it is in my bag alongside my glossier lip gloss, but for a more every day lowkey moisturizing shine, i always turn to this baby. plus, it smells good and is sooo easy to apply! a must have for me, always.
9. pür cosmetics 4 in 1 tinted moisturizer in light, $35
i found this on ulta too, which is where i originally purchased it, but i figure amazon is a little easier. this is on the pricey side, and i did initially buy it on sale. the reason it is on this list is cause it is so lightweight, with a gorgeous finish, and actually does that whole blurring thing without being a foundation or a heavy coverage product. this has become my go to item for a makeup day that i don’t want to be too full coverage. it is a liquid, so i feel a little bit more secure about it than my nudestix blur stick, but it is still a moisturizer - and has SPF 20! and it hasn’t broken me out, while staying on all day.
