Thought I’d share with you guys some of my favorite script fonts. I’ll be doing more of this later on (^-^)
I use my laptop for a lot of things - essays, writing, photos, Tumblr and other things - and so I have a lot of websites, extensions and apps that I couldn’t live without. Here are some of my helpful favourites:
Momentum [Chrome Extension, free] This app is beautiful and amazing and just makes me focus so much more. It’s an extension which loads whenever you open a new tab. It features a picture of a landscape with the current time in the centre. You can personalise it by adding your name to it and it has a to-do list, a quote, the weather and quick links.
Fliqlo [computer screensaver, free] It’s a flip clock. It’s that really minimalistic, black flip clock that a lot of people around here have. I personally haven’t used it but it seems really nice.
StayFocusd [Chrome Extension, Free] StayFocusd is basically a website blocker to help you stay focused on whatever you’re doing. It stops you from visiting whatever websites you decide to block so you don’t spend ages sitting on Tumblr or whatever when you’re supposed to be writing an essay, for example.
My Study Life [app for Windows and ios, free] This is a great app for keeping your school life organised. You can upload your classes, timetable, homework and tests to the app and it keeps track of them for you. It’s colour coded and can work with rotational timetables. The app also can synchronise with the phone versions to allow you to be updated on both devices.
Write or Die [website, free use] This is perfect for those times where you just have to write an essay or a writer who just wants to get stuff down. You set a target of so many words or so long and, if you get distracted or don’t reach that target, the website either plays a really loud sound to jolt you back into focus or gives you a consequence. There is also a mode where, if you get distracted for so long, the website will start deleting your work, word by word to make you get back to work.
8tracks [web player/app, free] This music sharing app is amazing if you don’t want to make a playlist as you can just search and a continuous stream of music is played for you. However, this app is now only available in North America so I can no longer use it. IF you are American though, I highly recommend using it because it is amazing, especially when you’re studying as you don’t have to constantly change the song.
Spotify [web player/app, free] Another music app which is just as good as the previous. This is available all over the world and features so much music that you can listen to anywhere. Only downside is that, to be able to listen to music offline, you need to buy a subscription.
Canva [website, free use] Canva is an amazing website that allows you to make all sorts of graphics for so many different uses. They have templates for resumes, examples of Tumblr graphics and all different types of graphics for you to customise and make. Some features on the website do require you to pay for it but the majority of the features are free.
These are just a few of the available apps out there but my personal favourites or the ones that I have seen as very popular. I hope some of you may find this helpful and if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me!
