this is a project we've been thinking about for a very long time and finally feel that we have a tangible thing to offer out. however, this is a little interest check to see if anyone would be interested. stunted is an rp set in '03 where an entire cheer squad goes down in a plane crash. it would be a 15 player (or less) group and all characters would be women or femme-aligned (ofc anyone under the trans and gnc umbrella would be more than welcome). they don't necessarily have to be queer! this isn't a romance-centered group. there will be slight supernatural elements. this is heavily inspired by lost, yellowjackets, and the wilds.

quick idea for the skeletons: i think it could be kind of fun if one of the things on the skeleton was a superlative that they would’ve received in high school! like best dressed, most likely to succeed, etc.

i < 3 connections . i feel like it helps to narrow down who i want to play as well as makes plotting a bit easier ! i also am pro more time to apply just to give people some time to build their muse + make more concrete app ! in my experience people who want a quick turn around between opening and acceptance just want less competition for getting accepted 😭 which is fair !

okay, we'll talk about the opening and extending it! our schedules are a little nuts all of the time, so i think i'll add another person as a sort of "moderator" who works from home more often than i do so things are all kept up to date.

using potential connections was very successful in the rp i run. it gives people an option and links together a story u could see between the characters without requiring something that one half of the relationship might hate. also throwing it out there that while u guys love astrology and might want to dictate the signs, most people who apply will likely be just as into astro/figuring out their characters signs.

that's true, i was just going off someone saying myers briggs which i am not as familiar with! we already have our first "task" planned out so that'll include that and other things that are super y2k / early 00s. thanks for this input!

would you consider being open for apps for 2 weeks instead of one? speaking from experience it will allow people more time to really think about their muses but also allows to pick up stragglers who need that time to even find the rp/craft a full character

i think we want to open for interactions maybe on the monday evening (the 23rd) so it'd be a week and a few days. i'm getting a lot of differing opinions because some are saying people would lose interest and i want to get the sweet spot of being able to accommodate those who may take some time but also not lose interest of people who've been waiting since the beginning!

honestly i love skeletons that have connections because i feel like it gives good building blocks for the connections with the other characters and it also kind of takes a bit of pressure off of muns when it comes to plotting but the main thing i would look for in a skeleton would be like the bare bones imo: a short description (whether that be through a little blurb or like just written aesthetics) and maybe like some tropes and/or personality traits. when i last ran a skeleton group, the main things i had were the label, a short description, and then their mbti type, tropes, and a deadly sin/virtue and then two connections per skeleton. like i felt like i wasn't writing an entire character but an outline of one if that makes sense. that's one of the things i love about skeleton rps is that you can have several interpretations of the same skeleton from something sort of bare bones.

awesome !!! thank you for your input, genuinely. we currently have traits listed, a 'snapshot' of their room and then i'm toying around with how else we can add to it without making it way too detailed, because obviously i would love to see how everyone else takes them. mbti type is fun, the admins are astrology girlies so we might go down that route (big three? or maybe just sun and moon?) but yes i agree! back when i was making skeleton rps in the late 2010s (lol) that's how i would do them, so i'm glad they aren't too far off from what i'm used to.

hi! love this concept. wanted to weigh in on the connections thing. i think the applicants should write the connections. maybe there could be “potential connections” on the application. this way it helps when it comes time to plot. and instead of generic “childhood friends” or “ex” it’d be specific plots like “ex best friends who are stuck together all the time cause their parents are still friends” that kinda thing. OR like “character hooks” that gives idea of what makes the character tick, what kinda personalities they might not get along, what they’re obsessed with, etc. that way when plotting it’s easier to find out how the characters might interact

we were throwing this around and it feels like the best case scenario. putting wanted connections and then maybe even linking some people post-acceptance who had similar things, or at least the other muns could see that there were people looking for similar situations. we could put maybe possibilities? like "character x could be jealous of character z for this" but ultimately it'd be up to them?

i would think required because it would be tricky if the person who applied for one of the connections was into it, but the other wasn't. i feel like it'd get complicated!

we're almost done getting the skeletons finished and organizing the main page. we're going to do the official "drop" on friday or saturday, depending on when we're done. if you're wanting to join us, what sort of things are you looking for in the skeletons? we're really torn about adding connections or not, so what do you think? let us know!

no, we'll be taking applications during the week of the 16th and then go through them on the friday and possibly saturday depending on how busy we get in our personal lives.

what if you get more than 15 apps?

idk! i feel like this is a very niche interest so we'd be lucky to get fifteen! once we drop the main and people read through the rules and the skeletons, they may not want to join. if we get an overwhelming amount off applications, i guess we'll just chat amongst each other to see what may be best. i don't know if i can handle running my first rp after almost a decade of not adminning more than fifteen. we'll just have to see how it plays out. we have some great interest but you never know what might happen. what do people do these days? do they just post acceptances, do they message the people who didn't make it? i remember back in my day, we were pretty brutal and posted denials (which i definitely don't want to do).
