I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything

the winter term is upon us! I've updated my pinned bio with my current classes. Last term was.. certainly something. I feel like I worked really hard and none of that hard work really paid off. My grades were still pretty terrible (altho better than last sem but the bar is lowww). I have to be careful now about making sure I meet the minimum gpa for whatever I do next😭LMAOOO

I noticed recently that my grasp on english is somehow shaken?? I was always the kid in elementary reading at a "grade 12 or higher proficiency level" and above all (fuck capitalization, grammar, + punctuation rules) prided myself on spelling and distinguishing between homophones. These were things my shitty little teenage self knew intrinsically. What a dumb mistake to confuse your their/they're/theres. Bear and bare. Lose/loose. Too and to. It sounds so basic but its sooo common. Like i would literally feel frustration inside myself when i would see posts online with incorrect spelling or these mistakes (apparently i had no sympathy for anyone learning the language or struggling for any other reason). And I've caught myself over the past month slipping up a couple times. Adding an extra o and quickly deleting it. Questioning myself for a split second if it's buy or by (how dumb!). Now that I've noticed this, every time I type out a homophone i think about it for just a moment. Small, but it's something i've never had to think about at all before!! How is it that my confidence in my native language is so quickly crumbled lol. Is it possible to fall out of practice in a language you use every single day

Relieved to be exiting biochem and starting physiology! I think muscle structure (ft. Miffy) is far more interesting than biochemical pathways. Also, some post-exam cooking below!

being back made me realize how much i missed this place! Can't believe everyone has been back to school for 2 weeks now and I'm taking photos of the buildings like an ickle firstie. Weather is great, classes are busy, and I've had so much fun catching up with everyone I haven't seen in 4 months. I have a lot of catching up to do, so classes were mostly gibberish today. But if i work hard watching the lecture recordings for the next couple of days i think i'll be caught up in no time.

my biggest pet peeve is people misspelling lose as loose and idk why it irritates me so much?? Im sure i misspell as well and i don't hold on to proper grammar or syntax rules but BOY seeing LOOSE just gets my blood boiling

Just finished a study session with my friend from uni. We did almost 4 hours straight, I don't even understand how I got to focus so much.

Yeah, I really undervalued working with another person. It helped me increasing my focus and it gave me another perspective on problems I burned my synapses on.
