Going to try and get to my drafts today. I’ll be around more at the end of term but for now I have far too much work to do to RP as much as I’d like.
Sorry for the delays
Sorry for the absence, uni deadlines are really piling up. I’ll be around more soon.

“This is me not even trying.” Missy glanced over at the man sprawled across the floor before walking over, staring for a moment before kicking his leg with the top of her stiletto heel. When he didn’t move, she looked back up at Edward curiously.
“Is he dead?” A red gloved finger pointed at the man in question, her head tilting to the side as she waited for an answer. Hopefully dead, otherwise she’d have to finish the job and, much as she loved doing that, she liked to take her time - and that wouldn’t be an option here.
“I didn’t send him, my love, the people I work with did. I’m a…how shall we say? Old friend seems the best term.” She crossed her arms and looked back at Edward, as she spoke, eyes flicking over giving him a somewhat dismissive once-over. “Of your boss. That mole in the government he talks about on occasion?” She waved a few fingers at him in a jaunty hello.
Edward languidly fell into his chair, his study was the perfect blend of practical and comfortable. Though it had taken three designers to make it so. Glancing at the goon, the corpse, with a blank expression... Edward couldn’t offer her more than a light shrug of his shoulders.
“Well, I haven’t checked.... depends.” He said, lips twitching as he fought off a smirk. “Does he have a tolerance to M99? ‘Cause then it might not have been an overdose. I don’t appreciate surprise guests Missy, you know that.” If his little girl had been here today, it would have been a bullet riddled corpse she was collecting... not the bruised and beaten specimen at her feet.
“If they have a mole, then why that?” He asked, eyes resting on her .. his expression unreadable. I was almost second nature now to remain impassive. “I thought subtlety was a specialty of your department....”
“I think I’m okay.” Kyösti insisted, settling himself more firmly to be sat up - it was comforting to be in an upright position like he was, and felt much better than being sprawled across the floor like he had been before.
“Vet. Only part time, I do a few days a week in the surgery there and emergency call outs.” He didn’t like doing more than two or three days a week, being around all that death and so sensitive to it…it got to him and made him grouchy and upset, so he tried not to be there more than on occasion.
“What do you do Elizabeth?” Kyösti shook her hand with a good grip, holding for a little longer and tighter than necessary out of habit, then letting his hands go back to the grass. “I hope so too. But thank you, it’s nice to know someone cares when someones hurts. Very good.”
“Good.” Elizabeth said matter-of-factly. Knowing full well that if she had taken a fall like that there’s no way she would be so chipper about it. Then again, she hadn’t fallen out of a tree since she was a girl, and even then it hadn’t been a regular occurrence. “Just take it easy... you fell quite aways.” She encouraged, looking up into the branches.
“Do you do house calls?” She asked, sounding perhaps a little too eager. “None-emergency of course... just I wouldn’t mind changing vets, my current one is a little expensive.” Elizabeth explained, glancing over to where her little pack were waiting (mostly) patiently.
“Well according to my tax forms I run a puppy school and a boarding kennels... though most of my current tenants are strays or abandoned, I try to rehome them... though most just end up staying unless they’re young and cute. Those I can usually find homes for.” Shifting back, the woman settled herself more comfortably on the grass, her knees had been beginning to cramp up. “You did fall from a tree... I couldn’t just walk by.”
textbookvixen:
“Huh. I figured you got that a lot.” She told him with a shrug, wondering if most younger women just kept it to themselves or if he just didn’t talk to many women under thirty. The second seemed a bit more likely, though at the last school she’d been at there were always a few younger moms and they were all pretty vocal. “Yeah, I have. Not here, but I imagine they’re all mostly the same.”
Morgana shook he head and chuckled, smoothing down her collar. “Way before high school.” She replied, not telling him exactly when so he might try to guess, though she doubted he’d get it right.
“Doesn’t exactly speak volumes about my awareness does it?” Robert said with a slight chuckle. He’d thought he would be with his teenage sweetheart until old-age, and since then Robert had hardly dated unless his friends had set him up... not that that ever ended well. He was more or less ignorant to how the whole system worked. And more than once he’d missed out on some subtle hint or other.
“Way before...” The man mused, “Around 12?”
textbookvixen:
Morgana glanced over just long enough to see the color in his cheeks. “What? You’re going to act like I’m the first person to point out that you’re good looking? I bet the PTA moms go crazy over you.” She chuckled, enjoying that she’d made him blush again, even though this time she hadn’t really been trying to. She nodded at his comment about his school, fairly sure he didn’t want to discuss that further. “If you think it’s a weird hobby now, I don’t know if I should even tell you how young I was when my obsession with blazers started.”
“Recently? Yeah... well, the first person under thirty.” Robert admitted nervously, between work and caring for a five year old: he didn’t exactly seem to get out much. “I never really noticed.” He shrugged, Robert couldn’t remember the last time he had paid all that much attention to a PTA meeting. “Soccer moms complaining just go in one ear and out the other.” Robert admitted with a slight shrug, “Its always the same... have you been to one yet? Better at putting you to sleep than a handful of Valium.”
“Okay, now I’m curious.” He confessed, offering her a warm smile. “Before or after high-school?”
“Is this really the best you have?” Edward asked, “Because honestly, I’m not even the slightest bit impressed.” It was almost insulting really, though whether this was an insult to him or the man he worked for: Edward wasn’t sure, probably both. “You send this fool to break into my house... he didn’t even make it through the gardens. Pathetic really.”
abiggerinfinity:
Trini had a feeling that Edward just didn’t feel like arguing anymore so when he gave in, she bounced on her heels with excitement. “Perfect. I’ll be right back.” The dark haired woman disappeared into the house and decided to grab a few bottles of beer and made two old fashioned. Most kids started their drinking experience with Boone’s Farm or something equally as terrible tasting but Trini had grown up in a home that only had real alcohol in it. Whiskey was her father’s favorite which meant it had become hers. Balancing everything in her arms, the girl carried it back to poolside and set them down. “I wasn’t sure if you wanted beer or something stronger. You have really good whiskey though so I made you one of these too,” she told him, setting it down. Trini walked over to the edge of the pool and sat down, shoes off so she could dip her feet in. It was no secret that Edward didn’t necessarily want her there but neither did anyone else her father knew. Her own list of consorts was depressingly small. “Why do you like working for my father?”
“Alright.” Edward said in acknowledgment, reaching for his shirt and pulling it over his head. The fabric clung to him where he hadn’t quite dried off, but the sun was warm and he would soon dry. Sitting with his legs in the water, the man watched the sunlight dance across the surface of the water as he waited for her to return. His mind wandered without aim or purpose, wondering if her father knew she was here... wondering how the hell she got here if he didn’t know. Languidly, Edward reached over for his phone and sent the boss a quick text, he wasn’t concerned if Trinidad’s father was going to be mad at her for running off: Edward knew where is loyalties lay. “I better not.” He said with a shake of his head. “Just kind of happened, the money helps.” It wasn’t exactly a straight answer, but it also was about as much as she was going to get from him on the matter. “More importantly, why the small talk?” Why are you here? The second question went unasked.

Olivia smiled, thankful that Hal had the tact not to push too much about her wish. She knew that she’d have to tell him eventually, or at least, he would notice when it got warmer out. For now her pants were enough to cover the prosthetic leg. It was nice to be able to hide it. Nice to make a friend who didn’t seem to pity her, or try and take care of her. “It was on art during the renascence, which I find fascinating, but the way he spoke.” She groaned. “I’m telling you, he could have made anything sound boring.”
“Renaissance art? Lucky you... I wish I’d had the chance to take some arts modules at university.” He said, still smiling broadly. “I mean sciences were fun and all but there are only so many things you can dissect or set on fire.” Hal hadn’t even taken one arts or humanities course after high-school, he kind of missed them, but then again he had never quite had the knack for it. His brain was wired too logically. “Ah well, least you’re free now, had have a lot of little cranes to show for it.”
textbookvixen:
“It might, but I feel like young attractive professors often have a hard time getting the respect they deserve. And that’s seriously archaic, I can’t believe an educator really shared those views with students.” She shook her head, unable to imagine hitting a child at all. “That’s smart. I’d wear more easily washable clothes, except my blazer collection is half the reason I decided to go into teaching.” She joked, popping the collar of the sky blue blazer she was wearing.
“Attractive?” Robert echoed, halfway between stunned and flattered. He felt that heat rise again beneath his skin, this was quickly turning into an unfortunate habit of hers... it was unusual for him to be nervous especially around student TA’s, usually he was the one teasing them. “Granted, I didn’t really go to a very good college and I’m 98% sure he’s not teaching anymore.” A slight shrug then, it was a part of his life Robert didn’t really like to dwell on. “You have a blazer collection? Strange hobby.” He joked.
Ben was oddly cold on the phone, all clipped sentences and bluntness - but his worry was still clear. Kyösti smiled as he heard it faintly none the less, closing his eyes and leaning back for a moment before sitting up properly.
“That’s wonderful! I actually work at the vetenary a few files that way.” He gestured in the vague direction, crossing his legs and putting his hands in his lap. He was less dizzy now, far less, and everything was coming back into focus nicely.
“Kyösti - thank you, Elizabeth.” His thick accent became far more clear on his name, natural Finnish tongue coming through. Kyösti held a hand out to shake.
“Hey, hey, slowly.” Elizabeth said gently as he pulled himself upright into a sitting position. “You might have a concussion, last thing either of us want is you passing out or throwing up.” She added with a warm smile, though he seemed just fine, she didn’t want to leap to any conclusions until she was sure he was out of the woods.
“Ah a vet? Or assistant or nurse or receptionist?” The woman asked curiously, times were tough at the shelter and it was taking more and more effort just to make ends meet, knowing a vet... or better yet: a vet that owed her a favour... would be a huge help.
Taking his hand and shaking it firmly, Elizabeth offered him a warm smile, “A pleasure, though next time I hope we meet under better circumstances.”
abiggerinfinity:
“Well, I suppose we’ll have to tackle TV next. You need some kind of modern entertainment in your life that can give you any kind of reprieve from everything you do for the family.” Trini herself wasn’t a big television watcher but she had her shows and when she was locked in the house with nothing else to do, it was the only savior she had from boredom. One downfall of being the daughter of a crime boss was how obviously difficult it was to carry on even the tiny bit of normalcy when it came to having a real life. Most girls her age worried about going on a date and getting drunk enough to act real slutty. They didn’t typically have to worry about getting kidnapped, beat up, and held for ransom from one of her father’s many enemies. She sighed at his comment because he was right. She didn’t have anyone else watching her and that meant he’d be stuck as her charge and that severely ruined a night out drinking. “Fine then, we can drink here. I clearly interrupted you taking a swim so why don’t you point me to the liquor, i’ll whip up a few drinks, you jump back in the water, and then I can join you.”
“I neither need nor want a TV Trinidad.” Edward told her firmly. The time he did get away from her father and his enterprise was spent either with his daughter or catching up on his own interests, like today: he’d cleaned the pool and decided to enjoy the fruits of his labours- until she had turned up and thrown a proverbial wrench into the works. Not that he complained, Edward liked to be kept busy, and the job paid well, almost obscenely so. The money kept him in comfort, and was going to put his daughter through school and college, even if something were to happen to him: she was never going to want for anything. And keeping her away from it all meant that hopefully she wasn’t going to grow up into a second Trinidad... the more normal he could keep life for his daughter: the better. With a heavy sigh, Edward nodded towards the house. It seemed like the woman wasn’t about to take no for an answer. “There’s beer in the fridge, spirits and mixers behind the bar in the dining room. Don’t drink too much, your father will kill me.”

mollysmythtymsyllom:
Olivia shrugged. “That all depends on what you wished for when you were younger. Get let down once, it’s hard to trust the process.” She sighed. “Anyways, the lecture was super boring. I’m know if I learned anything.”
“Okay, okay.” Hal said, holding up his hands as though physically surrendering. “I’d ask what you wished for... but something tells me that’s something I don’t want to dig too deep into.” He explained with a natural smile, it was difficult, nigh impossible, to put a dent in his mood at the best of times. “What was it on? I’m guessing it wasn’t origami?”
abiggerinfinity:
“Of course I have other people but none as obviously charming as yourself.” For a while, Trini was sure that his attitude was just something he did to distance himself. Then she started to think it was simply part of his personality. Either way, she found him wildly intriguing and while his annoyance wasn’t hidden in any of his words, it wasn’t enough to make her back down. She watched him climb out of the pool with interest, not masking the fact that she looked down the line of his chest and then back up. Of all the things she was good at, subtlety wasn’t one of them. Her chin tilted up, eyes narrowed when he spoke. “Who doesn’t own a TV?” Shaking her head, she smirked. “Where in there did I say anything about you babysitting me? Come have some drinks with me.”
Charming. He didn’t comment on that particular remark. Had he been an even less patient man: Edward would have given the young woman an exasperated sigh; like he did when his daughter constantly made the same mistakes in her homework or wouldn’t eat her vegetables. It was about the same level of annoyance. Edward kept his eyes trained on her, and her wandering gaze didn’t go unnoticed. But the man had lost the insecurities that had once plagued him over the scars that criss-crossed over his torso pale in the bright sun. Not that he would have wasted time worrying what the boss’s daughter thought of him, she was a nuisance, nothing more. “Lots of people, I don’t get much time off to watch it anyway.” He shrugged, “It’s implied, unless your father assigned you another bodyguard for the day?”
queenmaybelline:
“Doesn’t matter. I don’t know who called you but he’s probably an ass anyway.” Laura had never made her dislike of some of her coworkers unknown. She swung over onto the bike, gripping Harry tighter than she normally would have. It was something that made her feel a little bit better. “Let’s just go home. I need a shower.”
“You really want to say that about a hard-working admin assistant who gets paid way less than you do?” Harry shouted over the wind and engine. “That’s just a low blow Laura... poor guy was just looking out for you.” The ride home was a short one, and it was done in less than 20 minutes. Hopping off the bike, Harry unclipped his helmet and held out his arm to her. “Go shower then, do you want something to eat?”
abiggerinfinity:
Trini made a face in his direction but easily dismissed his tone. As the daughter of a notoriously vicious crime boss, she was more than little accustomed to short tempers. “I was bored,” she replied simply, like it explained everything. “I was watching tv and one of those sappy commercials comes on. You know, the one with the cats and dogs with their big sad eyes and that Arms of the Angel song that you could slit your wrists to playing in the background? It made me think that I should do something to give back, and what better way to do that than tackle your whole dark and sexy brooding thing?” Long fingers curved against shapely hips. “I figured we could start with drinks.”
Edward rolled his eyes, he wasn’t just some lackey in her father’s organisation. He didn’t have to fall down at her feet, and the man had never tried to hide his displeasure in her presence: and now was no exception to that fact. “Don’t you have anyone else to irritate?” He asked with raised brows, climbing out of the pool and wrapping a towel around his waist without breaking eye contact for even the slightest of seconds. Edward was good at that. Though it made people uncomfortable more often than not. “No. I don’t. I don’t own a TV.” He pointed out, tone bored, as though it was painfully obvious. “Its my day off Trinidad. I’m not going to spend it babysitting you.”
