i think, to me, anyways, one of the most important parts of the oz dust ballroom/dancing through life scenes is glinda actually realizing in full how powerful she is and how destructive that power can be. like she is the one leading everyone against elphaba (even though it always always spirals way beyond her original intentions) and she can control how other people perceive elphaba (and other things!) to a certain extent in that she is able to make elphaba 'popular' and it's not enough to save her, it's not enough to stop what's coming, but it's something and she's going to have to live with it for the rest of her life. like she's so powerful, arguably the most powerful person in all of oz and it has nothing to do with her ability to do magic
