This Hump Day, I wanted to highlight some must-have collabs that have popped up on the scene recently. Who doesn't love when beautiful minds unite to create new waves of design and inspiration?

First up, the one and only Shawn "JAY Z" Carter teamed up with Barney's to create "A New York Holiday" ,a limited edition collection that has Jay-Z collaborating with the likes of Moncler, Balmain, Lanvin, Balenciaga, and Proenza Schouler, just to name a few. This exclusive collection of lux goods ranging from humidors to cologne to stunning leather duffels (the Proenza croc-trimmed one has my heart) is available exclusively at Barneys New York. Dubbed the  "BNY SCC Gallery", the in-store space was conceived by renowned French visual artist Joanie Lemercier with Mr.Carter and Barney's Creative Director Dennis Freedman calling the shots.But have no fear, even if you aren't able to stop by the Gallery in NYC, the collection went live on Barney's website this morning.

A proud long time fan of Hova (as in I somehow managed to convince the record store clerk at age 12 to sell me  "Vol.2- Hard Knock Life' album. What's a Parental Advisory again?), I have loved watching the evolution of Jay-Z the hip-hip royal to Jay-Z the mogul, entrepreneur, visionary, and last but not least, the doting father. I've only got one question..."Who gon stop him?"

If "Money Ain't A Thang", I suggest gifting a few of these gems. Santa doesn't stand a chance....

Long Live Mcqueen! One of my favorite artists, Damien Hirst, takes to fashion design with a brilliant collection of scarves for Alexander Mcqueen. To mark the 10th anniversary of the skull scarf, Damien offers up 30 unique designs exclusively available at Alexander McQueen boutiques and online at alexandermcqueen.com. The partnership seamlessly blends the aesthetic visions of Hirst and McQueen. Each piece is adapted from Hirst's Entomology series, which is centered around butterflies, bugs, spiders, and various other insects. The colorful butterflies and their creepy crawler friends have been blended together beautifully, resulting in kaleidoscopic shapes that create the signature Mcqueen skull motif. Hand Knit Love

The holiday season is officially upon us(!!!!), which means its time to bust out the sweaters, gloves and scarves. A big chunky scarf,cozy knit hat, and fingerless knit gloves (have you ever tried typing on your phone with full gloves on?!...not for me)are my cold-weather necessities. After living in sunny LA for 7 years, the opportunities to wear these beloved items were few and far between. My East Coast roots lured me to Sequoia National Forest, Big Bear, and Lake Tahoe in the fall and winter as often as possible just to feel the crisp, cold air and have an excuse to layer up.

Virginia Blanca Arrisueño, a Washington DC based designer and the creative soul behind DeNada, a emerging accessories line, has won me over with her brilliant collection of knits. The over-sized, wide knit scarves and oh-so-warm looking shawls and shrugs have me wanting them in every color way offered. PS. All pieces are hand-made with love in Peru, paying homage to the designers Peruvian roots. Gotta love that.

Obsession: Sophia Webster

I will be the first to admit that I am a shoe-aholic.Plop me in the shoe parlor of Bergdorf Goodman for the remainder of my days and you wouldn’t hear a peep of disapproval. While not always kind to my bank account, my love of shoes has kept my feet happy, stylish, and the focal point of many an outfit. I Rock Tom Ford

In honor of not only Throwback Thursday but the impending arrival(aka tomorrow!)of London Fashion Week, I wanted to relive the glory that was TOM FORD'S Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection. The show that marked his LFW debut and his return to the runways is one that has been embedded in my mind & my dreams since its unveiling in February. As Anna Wintour so eloquently explained after attending his London showing, "fashion needs designers like him—rock stars who give you a fabulous, no-holds-barred spectacle." Touche Anna, Touche. This collection drips in decadence, gushes with glam, and gives off some serious disco vibes. I am waiting anxiously for his Spring/Summer 2014 show this London Fashion Week, which falls right after the Giles show Monday, Sept 16. Looks like Monday's aren't that bad after all.

I'll take one of everything, thank you Mr.Ford....

Jump Around

I've always had a love for jumpsuits...maybe its their convenience and laid back sexiness. Or perhaps it goes back to the days of those onesie pajamas I lived in as a kid, yes... I am talking about the zip front/feet built in/comfy as it gets onesie. After swooning over countless runway shows from NYFW these last few days, I noticed many variations of my beloved jumpsuit and thought now was the perfect time to showcase my (slight) obsession with this wardrobe staple.

Surfs Up

Looks like the surf bug has bitten NYFW this year. Surf culture and beach babes seemed to be inspiration for designers' Spring 2014 Collections. The West Coast vibes were very much present as models walked the runways in looks that paid tribute to a beach goers laid-back, sun-kissed lifestyle. Tommy Hilfiger was on point with his neoprene ensembles and cutout swimsuits worn effortlessly under chambray suits. J.Crew threw in a slightly more formal beach vibe with standout pieces like eyelet embellished dresses, bold tropical print pants,crisp white skirts & blazers, and plenty of nautical blue and white stripes.

So sit back, relax, and daydream of which sandy destination you could don these duds....

Front Row : NYFW

Mary Kate & Ashley have presented yet another impressive collection in their NYFW show for The Row's Spring 2014 Ready To Wear. Every look is bold and alluring, using rust red, black, white, and pops of beige, navy, and grey. With couture like craftsmanship on practically the entire collection, the attention to detail is impossible to miss.The collection channeled regional inspiration from the likes of Arabia and Africa with its use of bold prints and safari worthy head wear, just to point out a few of the impressive features of this collection that's ideal for a chic, city woman that lives for travel and exploration.

SPRING 2014 READY-TO-WEAR

As New York Fashion Week gets in full swing, I wanted to touch on a few collections that have caught my eye so far. Whether it be the breezy, easy to wear pieces from 10 Crosby Derek Lam or Rachel Comey's summery dresses in lightweight printed velvet, I am loving the casual elegance surrounding many of this coming Spring's collections.

This collection wasn't afraid to utilize denim in various ways & transition velvet into a wearable fabric for warm conditions. All of these pieces will add a defined and eclectic touch to your wardrobe this coming spring.

10 Crosby Derek Lam's collection for Spring 2014 was inspired by the landscapes and beaches of Zanzibar. With staple looks such as  open-weave knits,block-printed silks, and gauzy fabric dresses, these pieces will have you ready to book your next island retreat.

Chic Monday: Coat Conditions Ahead

As we move into September, summers last month (sigh..), the countdown to Fall officially begins. This Chic Monday, I wanted to focus on one of my favorite Fall essentials: the COAT. I recently purchased a black mid-length coat by Vince that I can easily wear to work or throw over a dress for a night out. A black overcoat is a classic piece that can translate well for years to come & blend with practically your entire wardrobe.

In this post, I chose to showcase more unique picks to give you a sense of the variety this seasons’ collections have to offer. Personally, I am in love with the leather and shearling details that are making a comeback this season. Another favorite are the mid length camel coats, which I find to be extremely elegant and equally as versatile as a black coat.

Vintage Love

In honor of the infamous "Throwback Thursday", I thought I would showcase one of the best resources for all things Vintage. Located off of Melrose in Los Angeles, Decades carries the most sought after designers from a plethora of different era's.The two owners are constantly traveling the world in search of unique, stand-out pieces that transition effortlessly into a modern day wardrobe. They also hand-select gently used garments from current collections, making this a perfect match for someone in search of that designer look without the designer price-tag.

Plus,each year they host multiple trunk show events across the country, so even if you can't make it to their one-of-a kind boutique in LA, look out for them in a city near you.
