People in the replies who disagree are missing the entire point.

Men getting grey hairs is seen as “sexy” and makes him a “silver fox”, old and wise and the likes. Think George Clooney. But women getting grey hairs, people see as “letting herself go” or she “doesn’t care about her appearance”.

And it’s constantly, ever since childhood, ingrained into girl’s and women’s brains that women can’t have wrinkles, and if they do, they have to buy creams to get rid of them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an anti-wrinkle cream marketed towards men. If there are such products, there’s no doubt that the creams marketed for females heavily outweighs the males. Because men aren’t taught that their face is never enough unless it has no signs of making a facial expression ever in their life.

There is still such a double standard for appearances when it comes to men and women. When I was 11 years old, ELEVEN, I used to secretly steal my mum’s anti-wrinkle creams because I noticed I had tiny little ‘crows feet’ because I laugh and smile so much. I was so upset that I was already aging, and distraught that people would think I was ugly. I was ELEVEN. I would cry about this.

Men aren’t even taught that they should wear makeup. In fact, it’s SHUNNED. People say it’s ‘gay’ (which is somehow a bad thing to people still) and men shouldn’t wear it. They should embrace their natural skin.

What Carrie meant was people think women can only age well if they don’t look like they’ve aged

November is Murphy’s Law Month

Our car got hit and insurance is refusing to pay for it because it was being used for Lyft, and Lyft won’t help because of a clerical error which invalidated the coverage on the car. All four tires need to be replaced and the mechanic is basically taking advantage of us. Rather than simply replacing all the tires, he’s repairing two (and charging us) and sending us back out until the tires can’t be repaired anymore, so we’ll then have to pay to have them replaced. Nevermind that this is not safe, he’s forcing us to pay twice for two tires. We still have roaches despite an exterminator (I think they’re coming from neighbors, the joy of row homes), I ended up needing an ER visit and am descending into a flare, we’re behind on several bills, and we still have to get my daughter fitted for glasses. I also need glasses and while the exam is covered by my insurance, the actual glasses are not. I’ve got new doctors to see next week and it’s almost thanksgiving and we need non food items (and food, but not as urgent) like toilet paper and dish detergent.

Hahahahaha my hubby’s cousin was just in a car accident. Again. This time the car is totalled and my hubby is trying to figure out how to get him from the hospital. In New Jersey. Right after talking about how we’re gonna pay bills with one of our accounts 600$ in the red. By Kali’s grace our cousin’s daughter wasn’t in the car, because he was on his way back after dropping her off at her mother’s. Totalled car, with a steeply negative bank account. Said cousin still has rent to pay too. And we need food.

November is a scam this year.

It was a four car pileup caused by someone ahead of him slamming brakes to a complete stop on a bridge, and people behind him crashing into him. It’s raining tonight. He almost certainly has a concussion because he was unconscious when state troopers pulled him out of the car. He works exclusively for Uber and Lyft, and the car is also my family’s only means of transportation, so I have no idea how he’s going to pay his bills and it will make my hubby’s life difficult getting to work. Thankfully we live near Philly and SEPTA, but it’s still a 4x longer trip by public transport than a car. My husband is not ok, for a lot of reasons.
