Little Wolf Parade

We recently shared yet another work in progress at Little Wolf Parade's Pop up night of performance. It was a great night, felt lovely to perform alongside some really talented artists and we saw some brilliant work.

On the 20th of November we shared 15 minutes of our work at a scratch event organised by Theatre Bristol entitled Testing Ground. We performed at Circomedia, which is an amazing building for performance! It's in an old church and people do circus performances.

We also spent the afternoon chilling out/warming up at the dance hub

As we were in Bristol we ate some vegan food at Roll For The Soul.

Here are some snaps from our exploration in the studio, investigating orbiting.

Communicating online, through typing or speaking you are restricted to words. Sometimes in this restriction you can find yourself repeating the same phrases and patterns of behaviour with another person, never progressing or being able to say what you really want to say.

The photos above were taken from an exercise in which we would repeat familiar phrases inspired by previous relationships to each other, whilst orbiting around each other at varying proximity and speeds.

This is Katie about to fall over as part of a choreographic experiment that we engaged in over Skype in August.

Through our research we recognised it is really easy to give an effortless display of appreciation on-line, and then move on instantly.

Recently, we were shortlisted for the Jerwood Choreographic Research Project investment. We were selected from 417 applicants down to 30 to present a 3min pitch at Soho Theatre in front of a large group of investors.

Although we were unsuccessful in receiving funding it was a great experience and we feel validated to be a project worthy of this recognition!

We have received some helpful & constructive feedback and will take this forward in the development of the project.

I liked the narrative exploration of online/offline. The audience members chosen evoked pure feelings of obsession and disdain. I feel that the storytelling talent of Subject To Change (STC) was utilised well. I would like to see STC expand from the confines of the stage.
