The Japanese American Society of Greater Philadelphia celebrates the near Forest of Sakura in historic Fairmount Park, most of which were first planted in 1926 as a gift from the people of Japan. The festival honors Philadelphia's traditional and contemporary Japanese cultural connections. More than 50 events are set to take place over four weeks, ranging from martial arts demonstrations to live drumming and dance performances. The Disco Biscuits host an annual festival in upstate New York in July called Camp Bisco, which is infamous for cutting edge electronic dance music, 6 sets of Biscuits, rain, and all night parties. The festival has grown from 1,600 attendees in 2000 to 25,000 in 2011.
