it's so unattractive to pretend not to care, an environment where you can be loud about your love and vulnerable without fear is much more appealing
The purest form of love is consideration. When someone thinks about how things would make you feel. Pays attention to detail. Holds you in regard when making decisions that could affect you. In any bond, how much they care about you can be found in how much they consider you
“People say I love you all the time - when they say, ‘take an umbrella, it’s raining,’ or ‘hurry back,’ or even ‘watch out, you’ll break your neck.’ There are hundreds of ways of wording it - you just have to listen for it, my dear.”
— John Patrick
I’ve been looking for this really helpful post about artist growth… where you get to these points where your skill doesn’t match your knowledge of what SHOULD look good, and then it flips… it looked like a double helix on the graph, if that helps. If anyone happens to have that pic I’d love to see it again!
Here you go!
There's also this one, I just prefer the one above because it's easier for my brain to parse.
THANK YOU!!! This is exactly the one. I like both versions but yeah the first is a bit easier to take in
oh btw just in case nobody ever told you. just because your life looks different than you thought it would doesn't mean that your life is bad or wrong or disappointing or less than. sometimes things aren't good or bad. sometimes they're just different

I love how different forms of art are all obsessed with each other. A book tries to capture the feeling of music, a painting tries to depict a scene in a book, a song tries to paint a picture. And it's always insufficient. No single form of art can encapsulate another form of art and capture the essence of it – but it tries, and its attempts are impossibly compelling. All the forms of art are in love with each other and spend so much time trying to express what makes the other kinds of art so lovely.
'Mutually obsessed with eachother but in a healthy way' kinda relationships>>>>>>

dishes clanging in the a.m. , porcelain armor in the humdrum of life a little movement to quiet the soul think yes , this is how we take care of the little yet precious we have . life is full of mystery , but the daily chores become like secondary heartbeats , worker bees buzzing about the hive , ants backpacking crumbs to the hill . so it’s mundane , but is it really ? watch the sunlight splashing the room , your nimble fingers , every step in the kitchen a humble dance , flurries of the feet . breathe it in . you’ve got dishes to clean , i.e. , you’ve got a home to burrow , food on the table , intimacy with god & nature’s fruit , the rhythms of mortality & human being .
sometimes walking down the street is almost too much for me. there are children laughing and moms watching them clinging to this fleeting moment and elderly women telling each other to take it easy and praying they will both be gentle to themselves and teenagers going out and learning who they are and young couples looking for their first home together and older couples holding hands leaving what will be their last home together. the world is full of love and all of it is precious. the world is full of people and all of them are precious. what a beautiful thing it is to be a person

had a dream last night that the new tumblr discourse was whether or not people deserved their urls and people were getting callouts and anon hate like "I can't believe you have x in your url when I never see you actually post about them it's pretty messed up that you're taking that url away from other people who actually deserve it :/"
This was genuine discourse in 2012 you guys need to remember your history
