I've killed a few escheveria in the past year, and now have a topsy turvy that seems to need more water than my other succulents. do escheveria species generally need more water than other succulents?
it honestly just depends on the plant! bigger plants and plants with bigger leaves dont need to be watered as much because they can hold water, while baby succulents and ones with small leaves need to be watered more

Help! I have no idea what’s happening to my succulent son. I leave him in my windowsill where I get light from the morning sun, and water around every 10 days or so, but he’s still having issues? Does anyone know what might be wrong? I’m new to plant-parenting and need some help…
Hello! The soul looks very dry, instead of having a set watering schedule, I would water the lil guy when the soil is dry enough so that when you touch it with your finger, nothing sticks to it
Corking: a natural process that cacti (and some succulents) go through as they age.
The base will start to develop a hard, woody skin that slowly works its way up the plant. It feels, and can look, almost like the bark of the tree. Some cacti (opuntia in particular) will actually develop a tree-like trunk. This notocactus here is prone to corking at an early age, but I think it adds character!
Corking is inevitable, and while it can be held off for awhile with good care, proper fertilization, and allowing dormant periods — it’s one of the signs of a mature plant. It’s a good thing! You kept a cactus alive long enough for it to grow old!!

aloe vera is the most satisfying plant 🌱 and it has tons of skincare benefits! It moisturizes, prevents signs of aging, reduces acne and acne scars/pigmentation and helps with sunburns! It also can promote hair growth.
Plant dad here🌱, just know that this isn’t a bandwagon thing or something that in a year people will say “actually it’s bad for you” I’ve been growing it for years and it’s only harmful if you’re allergic!

Hello! I personally don’t use any, but I’ve heard from friends that it’s best to buy actual fixtures (not just bulbs) and longer ones work better
I have no idea why, but my succulents seem to be getting too tall and lanky, the leaves are all starting to turn yellow and squishy. Am I watering too much??? Help please

The succulents being long mean that they aren’t getting enough sunlight, so I’d try to put them in an area where theyd get the most light, whether that’s inside or outside, or getting a growlight (which can be $20 for a small one on amazon)
And for the leaves being yellow and mushy, that’s a sign that the plant is being over watered! I don’t know if the pot you have it in has holes in the bottom, but if it doesn’t, I’d really recommend repotting it, because water can otherwise pool up at the bottom! If you do repot it, make sure to only water it when the soil is dry enough that if you touch the dirt with your finger, nothing sticks to it. Only then, water the succulent until water starts to come out the hole(s) of the container, then repeat when the soil gets dry again

Hi! I just need a little help figuring out what’s going on with these two. I have no idea what they are or exactly how to care for them, and I don’t know why they are shooting up so rapidly. The one on the left is beginning to lean and fall over so I’m worried, please help if you can 😓
————– Okay so there are a few things wrong. First, they’re stretching because a lack of light. They’re literally “stretching” to get more light. It’s called etiolation. You can fix it by putting them outside in the sun as long as it’s not over 95 for too many days and you keep them out of any summer rain. Second thing is that succulents actually hate terrariums. There’s not very good air flow, and rarely a drainage hole. Both look like a type of cactus. Read up on basic cactus care. And third, the flowers are fake and too should try to gently remove them. Google cactus flowers and see what the real thing looks like. Those are a dried straw flower that nurseries glue on to get people to buy them. Let me know if you have more questions! ✌🏻🌵❤️
