(grabs yuuri around the waist and blows a loud raspberry against the back of his neck)
Ā Ā Ā yes, that noise out of yuuriās mouth was, in fact, the most indignant yelp that any human being has ever made. the noise that followed was an uncontrollable, snorting fit of giggles: akin to the image of someone hopelessly in love.
Ā Ā Ā āĀ donāt make me come back there, mister!Ā ā

goldkiiss:
yuuri. beautiful. the way he says it, accent and all, makes it even more so. victor is busy wondering what it means when he feels a warm hand touch his shoulder, and then breath ghost against his ear.
it all happens so fast, he doesnāt have time to process it. the smell of booze and clean clothing, the almost-touch of lips against his jaw, and then the cinematic wink as yuuri pulls away, leaving victor wide-eyed and speechless. honest to god, he canāt find a single word to respond with. he can only nod dumbly, once, twice, three times, maybe a little too enthusiastically.
after an embarrassingly long moment, he swallows, and manages to blurt, Ā Ā
Ā Ā ā yes, iāll ⦠iāll find you tomorrow! yuuri. ā
yuuri fell asleep that night with a confident grin on his face but woke up with a dreadful frown. his eyes felt way too heavy when his bunk-mate kept trying to nudge him awake for breakfast. the need for water and the need for more sleep was an awful conflict to have first thing in the morning, which meant that instead of answering, he grumbled and whined. very dignified.
oh god⦠he totally flirted with that guy from first class last night! he went gallivanting around the ship, probably acting like a complete idiot, searching for a guy he didnāt even knowāand couldnāt remember his name eitherāand then practically threw himself on him like some love-sick damsel! his ears flushed with embarrassment just thinking about it.
he couldnāt run into him today. he couldnāt run into him ever again. if anyone in first class saw, theyād probably kill him on the spot, or worse. people with money and status could do a million awful things to a nobody like him.
after the stress-binge at breakfast and lunch, he sought out solitude on deck. there was nothing but him and the passing ocean.
ā¦and other patrons surrounding him, but yuuri gave no sign that he even acknowledged their existence.
(ć*°ā½Ā°*)
goldkiiss:
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā wait ⦠yuuri, no! Ā ā
the panic washes over him in an instant, desperate to wipe away tears that he canāt see. victor looks right, left, flailing on his end of the phone. any onlookers must think heās being lectured by a coach or chewed out by a significant other.
Ā Ā ā Ā where are you right now? Ā ā
ā in⦠in a bathroom. by myself. ā
his chest heaved with the gasping breaths he inhaled past the thick sobs. he trained so hard for this and he ruined it. he was a failure. victor is going to be so disappointed and embarrassedāprobably think that it was a waste of time to train him at all.
ā iām sorry. i canāt do anything right. ā
Our little prima-in-training š
goldkiiss:
god, itās all so much. victor can remember closing the pod and thinking that heād age and die there ā it was his last memory before sleeping. only now, after being granted life, does he realize how terrified heād been when he made that choice.
and seeing another person. every word out of the boyās mouth, every clumsy little movement, is like witnessing a miracle. heād taken for granted what being with another human being was like ā every subtle little reaction, every twitch of body language, every breath and blink that wasnāt his own. the tears fall freely from victorās eyes, his body tensing up. years of lying dormant makes every muscle scream and scrape for movement.
with help, victor steps out of the pod and sits down on the edge of it, taking the offered towel in a trembling hand.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā katāsuki⦠ ā Ā he repeats, wanting to carve the name into his memory. Ā Ā Ā ā my signal⦠it⦠it made it out? you found itā¦? Ā ā
so thatās why no one came. they all thought he was dead. victor had considered the possibility. itās only a little horrifying to realize heād been right.
without a shred of hesitation, yuuri helped victor to step out of the water. his joints and muscles must be aching from the lack of immobility, a pain that yuuri understood, although most likely not to the same extent. heād only done one of the naps on the journey over here, from the wormhole to the asteroid belt.
yuuri was quick to yank a chair over, another towel, and the insulating blanket. it might have been proper to be more formal, but the young man couldnāt help letting an excited, star-struck grin grow on his face. it felt like heād just done the impossible and he was damn proud of himself.
ā yeah! wellāno, it was less of a signal and more of a⦠ominous radio wave. we couldnāt even tell if you were telling us to come here. there was too much uncertainty and no one wanted to risk it. ā he explained as he sat down as well, simply happy to have someone to talk to that wasnāt a machine. not that vik wasnāt good company, but it was still a mediocre substitute for another human.
ā but if they knew what you found⦠itās amazing! whatās the atmosphere like? or the soil? could we plant things here? āĀ then it hit him: victor had just woken up, probably still in shock that he was even alive. yuuri needed to slow down.
ā sorry! iām talking too much. i donāt mean to badger you. ā

Otabek was accustomed to the heat. Summers in Almaty could be overbearing in their high temperatures and although he had never been predisposed to enjoy them, exposure had lead to the necessity of toleration of them. Still, he far preferred the cooler air. He had been thinking as much when his eyes had happened to glance Yuuriās way through his ark sunglasses, popsicle in mouth and a litter of their sticks in a pile nearby. So far, Otabek had only indulged in water bottles himself, but Yuuriās clear enjoyment of the cold snacks was appealing. While he wouldnāt normally question someone on their own eating choices, Yuuriās sheer happiness in them had lead him to do so. Shifting slightly, sand rustling beneath the towel they had set up, he glanced inside the cooler ( almost wishing he lower his face into it, if such an action wouldnāt be conceived as bizarre ).
āHm ā Iāll take a red one, then. That way, you can have one of each color.ā The package was cold in Otabekās hand as he extracted it, and he almost dreaded tearing it open and watching it begin to melt. Nonetheless, he peeled the white and blue wrapped away carefully before chancing another look at Yuuri.
āWhy arenāt you in the water with Viktor?ā
He sucked the popsicle into his mouth as he reached for a red wrapper inside the cooler. As long as someone else was eating them as well, Yuuri didnāt feel as guilty about indulging. Although the color of his tongue was still evidence of how many heās eaten.
After handing Otabek his requested popsicle, he shifted onto his side, propped up on his forearm before finally relieving his lips of the frigid treat. By now, he was probably sporting a fantastic tan-line around his bathing suit, one that would absolutely be obvious when he returned to the hot springs at Yutopia.
āI wanted to warm up.ā Lies. He sucked at lying, he really did. The tone of his voice was a dead give-away.
āā¦he kept dunking me and I snorted seawater up my nose.ā

He knew that it was outdated, but wasnāt the value of the joke still valid? Yet another example of how ridiculously uncool Katsuki Yuuri really was.
āĀ Ugh, going to the store means going outside. ā He slumped face-first on the floor, possibly being melodramatic. They didnāt have enough ice in the freezer. And going outside meant going back into the heat. Why didnāt this building have AC? Why didnāt every single building in the world have AC? They should.
Yurio:
Ā Ā Ā It felt nice, this, sharing a quiet moment with a friend, someone he was supposed to look after but who looked after him in return. Yuuri had become an important part of Yuriās life, the witch and the fairy weaving their magic in harmony and drawing them together like brothers would. He felt less lonely, though he couldnāt entirely understand what it meant to have someone by his side at all times. Even the bad ones.
Ā Ā Ā He allowed Yuuriās magic to work the dress to a fitting length, and twirled around for a moment to test the flexibility of the cloth that clung tightly to his frame. It was a soft fabric that stretched with his movements. It felt so light on his body it was almost like he was wearing nothing at all. Yuri looked at the hairpins on Yuuriās hand and artfully placed them on his hair, pinning loose strands of hair away from his face.
Ā Ā Ā Tonight wouldnāt be about him, though. No. Tonight Yuri had to monitor this prince guy and check for sure that he was genuinely interested in Yuuri for what he was, that he didnāt just want to take him and break him afterwards. If needed, he would use his magic to harm him, damn the rules of guardian fairies.
Ā Ā Ā āYuurok,ā he called, meeting Yuuriās eyes. He reached out to brush a loose thread from the sleeve of his friendās dress, gentle fingers lingering for a moment. āIf that prince dude hurts you, I swear Iāll make him pay. People tend to underestimate us fairies because we look fragile and whatever shit they say behind our backs, but trust me, most wars started and ended because of fairy magic. I will break him to pieces if he he makes you cry.ā
Ā Ā Ā It was as serious of a promise as Yuri would ever make. Eventually his hand fell back down and he tugged on his own dress, unused to be dressed so formally. He let out a small sigh and walked over to the window. Outside the day was beginning to die out, the skies were turning orange and the animals were slowly retreating for the night.
Ā Ā Ā āYou have nothing to fear. You have me with you!ā he pointed out, jabbing his own thumb towards his chest, a confident look in his face. āYou go there and you seduce that prince and⦠I donāt know. If you really like him then just be yourself or whatever. Just donāt be too gross. i canāt stand mushy shit.ā He walked over to Yuuri and bumped him on the shoulder. āHow are we getting there? Did he send someone to pick us up?ā
It wasnāt very often that the fairy verbally expressed his affections, at least not without the affection being laced with sarcasm or an insult. Yuuri knew that it was stupid to worry about these things, but sometimes it was hard to stop those thoughts from snowballing into something wicked and nasty in his head, especially if it was something new. He didnāt want to be this anxious and he knew that his life would be much easier if he could just chill.
Of course, that was easier said than done.
A watery smile blossomed on his face after hearing the boast of confidence. Yuuri stepped forward and wrapped his arms around the petite body from behind, laying his forehead against the top of the blondeās head. So much for not being a sap.
ā Thank you. ā
Auburn eyes popped open when realization hit him like a ton of bricks. Crap. Shit. Heād been so preoccupied thinking about ways to avoid the ball all together that transportation there didnāt cross his mind.
ā No. I didnāt. I donāt know how weāre getting there. ā
He held on a little longer, foolishly trying to soften the blow, but then, like a godsendāor a downright miracle, the clatter of hooves got louder right before stopping abruptly just outside the door of the apothecary. Yuuri might have thought he was imagining it had it not been for the chuffing of horses that followed.
No way. The prince sent a carriage too?
When he heard his name being called Viktor stopped placing various cans and other items in the pantry and turned his head to look in Yuuriās directionĀ ā Hmm?ā he questioned, arching one eyebrow in mild curiousness.Ā
Yuuriās attempt of speaking Russian to him was a delightful surprise, and an appreciated smile curled at the corners of his lipsĀ āĀ ŠÆ ŃŠ°Š“, ŃŃŠ¾ ŠŃ Š“ŠµŠ»Š°ŠµŃŠµā I am glad that you do, he responded back.Ā ā So I assume that you would like a Russian meal for dinner? What do you feel like? soups, pastry or pasta maybe? I bought enough groceries to feed an army so I am quite preparedā Viktor responded with a snort, as he resumed placing the items in their place, he was carrying the milk in the fridge.Ā
@sucheros
He got most of that. At least Viktor understood what he was saying too, so he was making a little progress.
āDo you know how to make stroganoff? Ah, that is, if youāre not tired of eating it. I bet you have it all the time,ā he timidly suggested, feeling a little greedyĀ asking for something without showing some humility. A harping voice at the back of his head was telling him that he shouldnāt be eating something that fattening or creamy, but it was the off season.
āAre you sure all this food wonāt go bad?ā He asked, leaving the couch and padding over to Viktorās side to help with the groceries.
@emperor-on-the-ice
āJust how many popsicles have you had already?ā
@stoicskater || heatwave starters
Not enough, was onthe tip of his tongue, but he refrained.
The truth was that Yuuri was on his third. His tongue waspurple and his lips were following suit. The cooler had several bottles ofwater, but Yuuri was pigging out on the low-sugar fruit popsicles instead. Water was refreshing but it wasnāt satisfying. It might be better for him to eat them slower, but theblistering heat of the beach took away the luxury of savoring the frozen treat before it melted away. Yuuriwas currently lying with his back to the sun and his phone in his hand, bathing suit still damp from the ocean.
ā Letās see, I had a red⦠an orange, and now this one. So three. ā He smiled sheepishly. Whoops.
ā Want one? Thereās some red and blue ones left. ā He offered, gesturing to the cooler sitting in the shade of the umbrella.
