i finished my first ever shawl!!!!!

It’s made out of a blanket yarn cuz I was curious how it’d go and I’m super happy!!

originally I planned it to be a solid color of that blue green purple

but I was dumb and it wasn’t until I was in teh car I noticed the second skein i got was slightly darker than the first

so it was either subtle shift or a full shift since I had this pink blue white green one at home (its one of those huge lion brand ‘i wanna make a blankie’ skeins I was gonna make a blanket out of at some point but I just never had the motivation) my friends helped me pick to just go for a full color shift

it’s pretty big and super soft. I like folded up it looks like a shark tooth hahaha

now to finish the shawl i started for my grandmother and that pink one in the back by conductor

slowly i eat up my yarn stash slowly….

Finished before pride month ends! I realized I hadn’t crocheted ANYTHING pride related this month and went “... how can... need to fix...” so I whipped off this little drawstring! It’s gonna hold my jolly ranchers

If I make it again I’m gonna change the purple. I don’t like how pastel it is against the other vibrant colors

I kinda wanna make one as an ace flag too but i need to get a better purple for it.. i have like... no purples in my yarn stash

I drove over an hour and a half into another state to find this yarn :’3c

I had this one yarn a while ago that was similar and I wanted to make a dragon egg bag because the colors were nice; but I didn’t have enough so I had to go find a substitute. I couldn’y find anything online so I made up my mind I’d have to go to the store I originally bought it; but I had gotten it on a mini road trip with my family. I did find the same store but they didn’t have the same yarn BUT i found this one which was remarkably similar only bright and a little rougher on the hands uwu

I always laugh at early stage crochet projects. Mainly my amigurumi because it always looks so stupid until I finish

Day 6: wip Weds!

So two “wips” The first is a rainbow blanket I started just the other day while the other was actually one of my two project goals which I just finished!

The blanket is a continuous granny square thing I just wanted a rainbow thing.  I realized it was perfectly sized for my kitty and draped it on her while she napped.

The net I’ve been working on off and on for a few weeks so I’m very happy to be done! it was made using https://www.topcrochetpatterns.com/crochet-patterns/toy-hammock#login-box24 as a pattern but I realized in my last few rows I actually had mis read the pattern for most of it and actually made it incorrectly BUT I MADE IT WORK!! It holds more than I anticipated it to which was nice. My room has a weird slant and it makes it harder for me to put up 3 point toy hammocks so I really wanted a 2 point hammock I can put on a flat wall or under the slant.

Day five: Other hobbies

Other than crochet I actually have a lot of hobbies but the biggest is my love of drawing and illustration. This was a preview shot for a video I’m in the process of making to show you can make cute art even with simple supplies like Crayola!

I also sew, fold origami, bake, book bind, scuplt, make flower crowns ect. I like keeping busy haha

funny enough tho my crochet project was under the table jsut out of frame XDD

Day four is Tools of the trade!

I kinda have many; I have a bad habit of not bringing hooks with me when I travel then buying a new thing of yarn and a new hook and wind up with a bunch of duplicates; but its good when I cant find one or the other.

I really like ergonomic hooks cuz I have some starter stages of Carpal due to my illustration work and hobbies.

I actually have a good case for my hooks but i find it more convenient to use this toki doki milk pencil case because I can throw it in my bag easier and it holds more hooks. It also matches my actual pencil case which is the strawberry version :’3c

I don’t want to really post a photo for day two but here’s day three and after this little beb and I get back from her doctors visit I’ll do day 4 and get caught up on the photo challenge.

But my crafting corner isn’t really a corner; I honestly tend to throw what ever crochet project I’m focused on into my backpack and it just goes with me and I work when I can. If I’m home It’s mostly my bed I work on where my cat likes to sleep with me :’3c Sometimes her sisters joins me and eats my yarn while I work or her brother just attacks it.

Anywhere is craftable if you have supplies is the way I look at it. And this includes walking in the grocery store crocheting a blanket while my bag hangs at my side. (yes I’ve done that)

I totally forgot yesterday was the start of march WHOOPS

I want to try keeping up with the photo challenge this year; Last year I stopped the photo challenge because life; but I actually had managed my goal! Which last year was sort my stash. My stash of yarn has tripled since then but has kept neat (you can see it actually behind Klyde’s head)

BUT Yesterday was “Show your goals”

So my goal is mostly finishing these two projects that are taking me longer than I wanted; the blue is a Toy Hammock that i have about 9ish rows left on and the ties. Which isn’t a lot but just i get confused with chain patterns like this.

The other is a continuous granny square styled table cloth/blanket! My end goal it is to be 4ft x 4ft right now its about 2 and a half but its just taking longer and longer to go around haha.

I have some other goals but. Honestly. I want to focus energy on these two. Because the other is trying to work on this mess of a granny square blanket:

This is my planning file; I’m trying to make a “wild flower field” looking blanket but because I want it to look “random” Its taking a lot of planning and I know will take more than the month so I’m focusing on my other projects (because I also have 5 sewing projects I need to finish by April and I work a lot haha)

Finally My pokemon Plushes (most of them at least) Have a home!!

I used this pattern here to make a plush toy hammock for my pokepals. I used to keep them in one of those like dangling cubbyholes you can hang in a closet but it kept falling down so I was like “WELP” cuz my sister keeps telling me “use your yarn before you buy more” so I used 3 different skeins to make this today! I’m happy to have my plushes all put up out of the way!

I mean this one is about 26 inches x 26 inches right now and I’m on my 4th skein of yarn so I’ve already used about 706 yards of yarn and I’m still going if that gives you any idea haha!

I’m actually really happy since I’ve never done anything like this before and it’s looking nice! Normally I just do hats and amigurumi. Considering I started this at work yesterday for only about a half day of work I’m not upset with progress X3 (my laptops a 16 inch for comparison)

My first attempts at granny squares based on a blanket my grandma has that was made by my grandpa's mom

I couldn't find an exact pattern online so I kinda neat had to wing it by looking at several patterns
