five senses shifting practice (because shifting awareness isn’t as hard as people think). imagine/visualize:
the feeling of running your hand over sequins. the sound of them scraping against your skin. maybe they’re the flippable ones? what color are they? how sparkly are they?
the taste of biting into a lemon. the feeling of biting through the flesh & the cold juice coming out. is it so sour that your mouth waters? or is there sugar on it? if so, can you feel the grainy sugar crunching between your teeth?
the sound of a cat purring. maybe you’re resting your head on top of your sleeping cat. can you feel its fur? the warmth? the rising and falling from its breath?
the smell of coffee brewing. maybe you can hear the coffee machine sputtering? feel the cold handle of your mug vs. the warmth of the steam rising into your face?
the sensory feeling (the emotional feeling too!) of kissing your s/o (including this because i accidentally shifted & kissed my boyfriend by doing this). i’m sure you know how to visualize that one without me walking you through it >.<
the taste of your toothpaste. it’s probably super minty. can you feel the foam of it in your mouth? maybe even the bristles of your toothbrush scrubbing against your teeth?
the sound of waves crashing on a beach. how calm are the waves? how frequent are they? maybe you can feel the heat from the sun & the sand under your feet? maybe you can occasionally hear some seagulls? maybe you smell salt & sunscreen?
the smell of vanilla extract. the feeling of holding the measuring spoon in your hand while you pour it in. maybe you spill a little on your hand & feel it dripping down?
this is quite literally becoming aware of something that is not actively occuring/present in your cr. combine this with meditation & a mindset shift to your dr self !! ^_^
