[ Amelie ]
- A runaway "Princess" in her own right, Amelie was raised in a gilded cage with her only purpose to be of use to her family. The feathers, however, was not a "useful" trait for her to have randomly developed.
- She met Calix as a child, in a place that she shouldn't have been. Very mixed feelings on finding (another) freak (just like her), but she chose to keep visiting him.
- Some arranged marriage later, and Amelie took off with her new lizard brother as her last hope. They've been on the run since, later finding refuge in the ruins and caves around Sandrock.
- Amelie is (unfortunately) Unapproachable. She is distant and quite distrustful. Ice queen with soft side etc etc etc... It takes a little while and a lot of patience for her to warm up to you.
[ Calix ]
- One day, he woke up. Not that he knew he was sleeping anyway. He just woke up one day, in some random ruin, with the simple knowledge that he's alive.
- For a time, that was literally all he knew. Until Amelie stumbled into his "home" and he discovered there was more than the rocks and ruins. He didn't understand why she would leave at times or why she seemed so sad, but a part of him knew she was like him.
- Seeing the world for the first time is still a rush, even if he has been around for a while now. New ruins or new towns, new people- he loves it all.
- Calix is FAR too friendly, and slightly naive. He's eager to meet new people and learn about them in every way. Goodhearted,, and kinda stupid but he's cute so that's fine ❤️
[ General / Both ]
- They were around Sandrock for a while until Ged approached them with Princess Lumi. Lumi had just escaped her stepmother and they were looking for a place to hide. Feeling a kinship in multiple ways, they were welcomed into their little hideaway.
- Sandrock locals know them as weird visitors. They never stay for long and sometimes all but disappear into the desert. There are rumours about them, but it's just speculation. For the most part.
- After helping Princess Lumi, they start appearing more regularly and will become more involved with the townfolk.
Shyly offers them. general interactions or questions are welcome... please ... i like playing touys .. .
A photo of Vitrielle on one of her family's trips back to Highwind. Looks like she's been staring at the Eufala Desert Shoreline.
Whenever you take the sea route between Highwind and Walnut Groove you'd notice the shift in greenery in the distance, the fields deep green grass turning into nothing more than grains of sand that stretched far and wide. The Eufala was massive and the horizon never revealed anything to those who went by sea.
Vitri always wished she'd see something new every time she boarded her father's boat, for hours she would keep her eyes on the shoreline with her chin rested on the hardwood railing.
'Do the winds of the sea reach the ends of the desert? Would she able to see the sea if she ever reached the desert's secret?'
If it weren't for her mother's hands fixing her hair the little girl would have forgotten she was even on the ship's floorboards, if she were to try and get closer she'd fall to the deep sea. Her eyes glance up to her mother, noticing she was also staring at the sandy dunes.
"The Eufala is beautiful, isn't it dear?"
The young lady was confused, she didn't know if she could even call such a sight beautiful or ugly when there was nothing there.
"There isn't anything beautiful there mama."
"Maybe not, but you've been staring like it is. You do the same with the glass in my workshop."
Is that what that is? The curiosity she gets from seeing her mother's work is the same as the feeling she gets when staring at the golden shoreline. The silence between the two broken off by her mother once more.
"There's a city there, you know. I've passed by a couple of times before your father sailed for me."
"There is?!"
Vitri's head flung back to stare up at her mother with that sparkling curious look her mother described prior, earning a chuckle from the lady.
"Perhaps one day I'll take you to see it, that's if we get your father to let us take the land route instead."
"But that's impossible!!"
Vitri pouts knowing how her father is about taking the boat for their trips, but perhaps one day she'll get the chance to see it for herself. For now, she'll stay at her spot wondering what else could be out there.

more tidbits about her under the cut:
the 'mishap' in the ruins was an attack by a mutant creature of some sort that had absorbed or otherwise become contaminated by whatever that facility was making. it gave her a really nasty gash that couldn't really get treated properly bc oops!! it spread whatever lightning gene goop it had to her! can't really do surgery on that.
the infection seems to be relatively contained to her left arm, but she still wears a tourniquet to limit her blood flow in and out just in case.
most of the time when she's around other people, she wears a thick rubber glove over her whole left arm to insulate the electricity. even so, she keeps a wide personal bubble, since her powers aren't 100% under conscious control.
that shoulder pad is a siphon of sorts. under the insulating ceramic shell is a battery terminal that passively absorbs some of the electricity that she produces. she gives all the charged batteries she accumulates away to anyone who needs them.
she is VERY distrustful of researchers. she ran to one first for help after her attack, but they only tried to exploit her new abilities under the guise of 'help.' it, uh......did not end well for them.
qi immediately plummeted onto her shitlist when she found out that he was examining wis, since she was a clone. even though wis explained that it was by her consent and everything was non-invasive, hadia's still keeping a close eye on qi. why is her friend crushing on sus science man.
builders, on the other hand, she has a great deal of respect for. she had strong work relations with a lot of builders in tallsky as a supplier, and builders helped her come up with things to help temper her powers.
she's in sandrock bc a) it's very remote and far from tallsky, less chances to be caught and b) little to no water lol
