what would mei's wardrobe in a modern au look like?

I'm not sure how to label this, but she is very rich artsy girl? Mei has a liking for shorter dresses, almost as a way of her own freedom, but also likes wearing some sort of jackets with (very comfy vibe from her). will ALWAYS have a bag with her of some sorts because she is a very materialistic girly who needs her essenstial (adding on to that, she tends to wear a lot of jewelry with it in forms of bracelets, necklaces, earrings etc.)

Please tell me about your F1 AU thoughts. I'm super interested to hear in which teams you'd see some of your OCs!

i have sooo many thoughts about their teams, but i'll keep it minimal (this made me so excited tho). I've actually talked about this like once with riley while talking about a modern au lui sibs au.

This is not my bias at all, but Mei feels very Mercedes to me. She isn’t usually loud about her excellence, not chasing spectacle for its own sake, and would excel as a creeping underdog who makes her way to the top without anyone realizing. When I think of Mercedes, I think of discipline, emotional restraint, the obsession with getting things right even when the results don’t immediately reward you and to me, that SCREAMS Mei. Another option for her would be Ferrari. Mei at Ferrari is about her ambition but not in the traditional sense. It is more so about her belief. She doesn’t think she’ll conquer the sport or reshape history like Schumacher. She would choose that team because the weight of legacy, loyalty and expectation is smth that is already interwined into her mindset. (She would also romantize alot: the idea that excellence must be inherited, that her perseverance will eventually be rewarded, that suffering is meaningful etc.)

This is the more obvious one, but Shen would be a Red Bull Driver. Raw talent, overwhelming presence and a history of victory. There is this beauty of glory that is achieved by his aggression, which is typically frowned upon outside the grid. There’s also something very Red Bull about the way he exists within pressure. Whether he is the first or second seat, Shen does not crumble under pressure and instead pushes forward. Similar to Max he thrives in environments where everything is sharpened to a point. The downside, of course, is that the environment encourages him to burn hotter and faster, reinforcing his pride and his tendency toward self-destruction.

I struggled a bit with Nymeria but ultimately chose Williams. Nymeria, at her core, is a character who is constantly overshadowed by her siblings and attempts to claw herself away. That is Williams. A historic team that’s fallen, stripped of its former power, and is trying to claw its way back. It is a classic underdog narrative to root for. Unlike her siblings who would be at prestigious teams that have made their impact before they could join, Nymeria would thrive in an enviroment where every point would mean somthing deep.

That mindset of “If I do this you’ll love me”, “If I prove how great I am you’ll love me”, are you really looking for love or are you seeking applause? Validation is an abyss that sees no end. I’ll admit, I am partial to your mistakenness for love. You love like a fist, like a knife. So sharp you’re overwhelmed by the sting and so forceful it knocks the air right out of you. Love is not love to you, without danger, risk, obsession. If it does not overwhelm then it feels hollow. If it does not hurt then where is the proof it even existed?
