After many moons, and eons, of sleepless nights, the one you adored had come snuck out to see you. His business in Karakura could finally take a break, and so he returned to visit you with a fond smile at your doorstep.
Your eyes lit up with delight as you open the door, being grateful to be able to admire his tall, lean frame in person once more. âOh, Sosuke!â
He opens his arms widely in anticipation of your embrace, both of you losing yourselves in feeling the touch of each other again.Â
As you look down to view the lilies grasped tenderly in his hand, you let out a flustered and sheepish laugh.
âOh my, and what may these be for?â You queried with a shy simper. Aizen had not yet confessed his feelings for you, and often you questioned if your own were reciprocated. An enigma he was, he would come and go, but the times when he did come were nothing short of effervescent, memories you held tight to your chest.
âIt has been a fair while since I've visited you, I felt that a gift was customary. Someone special like you does not deserve just a brief greeting at their doorstep.â His sight drifts from your stunning face down to his flowers. âBesides, they suited you too well to not get them. The petals seem almost identical to the colour of your irises, no?â
Sosuke himself was an assured man, confident and excellent at every aspect of his life. He was well known as the epitome of brilliance. Yet one aspect of his intelligence was lacking, and that was how to conjure in words exactly how it felt to be with you, a beautiful and graceful shinigami he had been observing and attempting to court for a while now.
As much as your head tried to deny it, your heart reigned victorious as it pounded heavily in response to the living beauty presented in front of you once again, a natural response through its desperate yearning for him after all his time. Shying away from his gaze, you mumble under your breath.
âCome in.â
Placing the lilies on the low oak table, you sit on the tatami and chat for hours, unbeknownst to the passing time with how much enjoyment you were having. Accompanied by many accidental hand brushes and an inappropriate level of proximity for two friendly soul reapers. The time had gone so fast, you did not even realise you were already stacking your dinner plates to leave by the wash basin.Â
As you look down at your reflection in the sink, a shadow appears behind you, and he calls your name in a voice so sweet it could go against the taste of pure nectar.
âDo you ever think of being with me?â
Freezing in your tracks, you swallow nervously, a slight jitter emanating from your spine as his arm slides over yours, aiding you in scrubbing the dishes. You become aware of your senses, from your sore fingers gripping the soiled washing scrub, to the sound of his dire pants in your ear, to the graze of his warm limb over yours.
âDo youâŠ?â
You mutter back, but the sound is lost by him hastily grabbing your hips to swing you around, planting his lips onto yours. Jagged moans arise from both of your mouths as you push against each other, your bodies becoming sweatier and more desperate. His hips lock you against the countertop as he slips his tongue into your mouth, forcing you to open.
âI love you,â he pulls back slightly to whisper, and to watch the way in which your face contorts with shock as it flushes with warmth. Timid, you look away, bashful in his strong gaze.
âWhat's wrong?â he beckons, wrapping his arms around you affectionately, to which you respond by gently pushing his chest away with your palms.
âMy heart aches for you too, I just.. I need some time to thinkâŠâ You were still catching your breath at this point, gasping for air as you dared to look back into his amber eyes flared with excitement and need.Â
Briefly, he parts his lips to rebut, but decides to close them in respect.Â
âAlright.â
Nodding, he shifts to turn his body away and retrieve his things, but you swiftly grab his arm in your hands.Â
âWaitâŠâ
Watching him glance backwards, it was almost like you could see the longing in his eyes manifest and take over you.Â
âWonât you stay the night?â
And so he halts, and he listens, weak to your command.Â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Next to each other, you both felt restless. All you wished was for him, the melody your heart sang was just for him, you desired only him. But you didnât know how to react, didnât know if you should give into your desires or think it over with a cool head. As you laid there in your suddenly uncomfortable futon, pensive, you eventually drifted off to sleep.
Yet he did not. A burning flame of hunger overcame him the moment you stepped into the bedroom wearing such a delicate and iridescent lilac nightgown, that only dangerously covered your underwear. As you lifted your legs to step into bed, it hiked up your thighs hazardously - and you noted the way in which his eyes immediately seeked to look away. Was this too much..? You fell asleep feeling self conscious as you analysed his reaction and his quick response to avert his gaze. A part of you wanted him to look, wanted him to show you his need for you.
He laid awake restless, unable to fathom the thought of you lying next to him, bequeathed in such taunting nightwear. Exasperated, Aizen props himself up on his elbow, watching you intently from the side. Not enough.
He sits up on his knees now, towering over you as his gaze rakes over your perfect form. A goddess to be worshipped, he contemplates as he imprints the heavenly image of you into his memory. The picture of your divine body, spread across the sheets as soft rays of moonlight seeping through the window paint themselves over your figure, illuminating you. It was far too much for him to handle. Weak, his knees buck, and he falls onto the mattress above you as a fierce look of want and admiration seals his eyes.Â
Aizenâs fingers lightly brush over your closed eyelids, the gentle brush of your eyelashes against his fingertips not left forgotten. His touch grows more daring as his palm slides down your cheek, grazing over your collarbone before planting itself on your breast. A trembling sigh escapes his lips as his hands dip under your nightgown, exposing your privacy to his hungry gaze. Unable to control himself, he takes your nipple in his fingers delicately, rolling it around with his index and thumb. Aizens eyes dart up towards your face as you slightly flinch in your sleep, your body reacting involuntarily to his touch. Oh, he liked that. He liked it a lot.
Filled with valiance, he thirsts for more, dipping his head down so his lips skim against your areola. Aizenâs tongue eschews from his mouth, as if it had been yearning for eons to break free. His tongue flicks, and he observes with unbridled joy as your body jerks once more. More bravely, he sucks and twirls your nipple with his tongue, his hands reaching to your other to flick it perversely.Â
Abruptly, he stops, lifting his head back up and sitting up above you. This was not enough. This was nowhere near enough. This pit of weakness and frustration only built further in his stomach as he touched you. Perilously, his fingers reach lower and pinch to lift the satin of your pearlescent nightgown further up, to bring forth your precious pearl.
A ragged moan leaves his throat as he views your underwear entirely, your hips adorned with rosy panties that only made the warm pool of desire spike in his abdomen. His coarse hands snake around to feel both your hips in his hands, holding them, before he hooks his fingers onto the edges of your underwear and yanks it down.Â
âYou did this to tease me..âÂ
Aizen's gaze flickers upwards in anticipation as he slides his index and middle between your drenched lips, a grin of satisfaction as he feels the sheer amount of moisture that you've gathered, even while asleep. He parts your lips, a shiver bolting through his spine as he sees your glistening cunt, causing him to twitch uncomfortably in his pants.Â
As his pointer reaches towards your opening, even such a slight rub evokes a small mumble of pleasure from your precious lips. His eyes light up, a cheshire grin staining his face. Such a beautiful sound⊠he mutters to himself as he continues.
You shift uncomfortably, only briefly feeling a sensation of pleasure as your eyes remain shut and your mind at rest. Aizen took pride in taking what he wanted from you, drawing forth your breathless moans even when you were not conscious. It was driving him wicked, making his mind run with wild fantasies of what else he could do to satisfy himself, and his lady. He brazenly shoves his long fingers inside you, curling them upwards roughly. No response. His brows furrow, a vindictive glare from him shadowing over you. You did not respond that time, and it greatly upset him, more than he would like to admit, if he ever did.
He was a gentleman, an indifferent and complacent individual who did not give into such carnal and shallow desires. Yet the sight of your soaked, lacy panties, the sounds of your soft moans⊠It felt as if a flame had been exacerbated in his chest.Â
He plunges his fingers further into you, wanting to bring forth more of those breathy sounds. And so he did, as your lips involuntarily parted, exerting a hushed whimper. It was louder this time, and it went straight to his already stiffened cock. Letting out a shaky sigh, he lowers his head once more, pressing his forehead against your thigh, bowing down for you. Worshipping your body bathed in radiant moonlight. After a few more flicks against your clit, he replaces his fingers with his moist tongue.
Only wet, sloppy, depraved sounds of your sex against his lips filled the room as he lapped at you desperately. Aizen rubs your hole with his tongue, before forcing it in, inviting your body to jerk once more. He bathed in the flush of ego he received from your unconscious reactions, feeling as if he could never drown in you. He sucked and licked at your clit before rubbing his tongue between your lips once more, slowly, savouring the taste of you on his lips. Glancing upwards, his tongue slides over his lips, licking the remnants of you off, ensuring to get every last drop of you.
He brings the back of his hand up to wipe his mouth as he sits up, basking in the image of you under the stars once more. Convincing himself of the fact that his desire was purely primal lay on a thin thread. It threatened to snap as he imagined your soft and slender fingers pumping his cock instead of him painfully having to do it, wondering how transcendental it would feel to finally have you pleasure him after years of fantasies about you tainting his mind.Â
He lets out a thwarted groan as he slides his hakama along with his boxers down, taking his solid cock in his hands as he begins to pump himself. He pleasures his tip with his index as his mind begins to wander off at the sight of your pussy exposed to him, ready for him to come and take what is rightfully his. Dribbling with pre-cum, he loses the last drop of what was left of his restraint.
Aizen pushed apart one thigh with one hand, and the other thigh with the other, until you were all spread out and open. He slicks his dark sepia strands falling onto his face back with one hand, revealing his sweaty forehead as he takes his dick in the other, running it up and down your pussy lips, coating them with his essence. Leaning over you, he finally pushes the tip in, gently. He didn't want his lady to be uncomfortable in her sleep.
Or, maybe that qualm was better resolved by waking you up, he ponders as he thrusts himself deep inside you, wedging himself in your heat. Aizenâs large girth twitches, delighted with how immobile and still you were in your sleep as he brings his face towards you, reuniting his lips with yours, making out with you unabashedly while you still remain in your slumber. He brings his thick meat halfway out, before pushing back in, shoving himself shamelessly right back into you before letting out a satisfied moan. The wanton squelch of your pussy attempting to accommodate to his size as he ruts his hips into you fills the room, his rhythm unperturbed as he basks in the utter relief he feels finally being inside you.Â
The strident, wet slaps along with the sensation of warmth and slight pain begin to stimulate your senses slightly, still unable to fully wake you from your slumber. You felt your head spin with a growing sense of need, whining. Aizens pace quickens at your sounds, eager to please himself with your tight sex and draw more beautiful noises from your lips. His tip begins to hit your core vigorously, his cock sliding in and out of you as his thumb plays with your clit, the other groping at your perfect breasts. Aizen fucks you with every fibre of his being, coating himself with you, carving himself into you.Â
Every time he backed up to take another glimpse of you, seeing your delicate and motionless frame as well as your breathtaking features that he adored sent another jolt of desire, straight down to his cock. He needed to lose himself in you, to finally release all his pent up passion into your pretty cunt as he stretched your insides out for his disposal. The more ruthless he was with his thrusts, the more alluring moans you let out, the more desperate he became.Â
And so, he finally laid unto you, the fruit of his covet. His cock twitches once more inside you as semen spills out and fills your core, covering your insides with him. Aizen holds your hips firmly against him, jamming every last bit of his seed within you as he pants erratically. Your eyes flutter open as your rest is finally disturbed, opening wider as you see the mess of what he had made of both of you. Watching his cum leak out of your glistening and used hole, you look up at him in utter disbelief.
âSosuke..?â
A deep, scarlet flush taints his cheeks as he gives you a cunning smile, coming forward to tenderly kiss your lips.
âWhat did you expect? I simply cannot control myself next to you.â

Temporary Whispers Of The Heart âčââĄâ | Sosuke Aizen X Reader
Chapter 10 | (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight
Ë âŠ â§âË
Your nimble fingers work to button up your sleek yet slightly crumpled office shirt, right up to the collar. You found yourself melancholic for a time when you used to do your shirts like that - back in the academy, when you were just a shy girl who sat in the library and scribbled her little thoughts and sonnets away to escape reality. You werenât able to do that anymore, unable to escape the reality that consumes you whole and spits you out, leaving you to painstakingly pick up the pieces of your life as you go.Â
Shuddering the evocation, you slid a dark puffer over your shoulders as well as a large, black scruffy scarf. Something to keep you warm through the chill of the night and the one that would spark up your spine at the sight of him. You cover up, even though you already know the mass amount of alcohol you were about to intake was sure to rile your vascular system up.Â
Smoothing out your pencil skirt, you clutch onto your sling bag for dear life as the torrential winds of Karakuraâs winter sway you back and forth. The bar wasn't too far from your home, so you figured youâd walk and leave yourself alone to your thoughts rather than taking that clanky old Toyota everywhere. Some self-enlightening shit this idea was, you mutter to yourself, yet the sound is lost from your lips and drowned out by the whistles of the wind. Suddenly, two hands snake behind you and pinch the sides of your waist, and you instinctively whip around to elbow whatever stranger you assumed had gotten too comfortable with you.Â
âHey there,â Matsumotoâs jovial voice harmonises with Kuchiki Rukiaâs, the both of them a little too delighted to get to drinking.
âAh, it's you⊠And Rukia! I havenât seen you in eons, my love.â You smile earnestly and wrap your arms around the both of them, the presence of your companion being a sight for sore eyes. The three of you huddled together gave a sight akin to penguins attempting to conserve heat, the jitter in your nerves somewhat placated by the touch of your beloved.Â
âItâs you? What is that supposed to mean!? And where's my pet name?â Rangiku grumbles, giving your shoulder a playful shove before wrapping her arms around your free arm.
The door chime rattles as you all welcome yourself in, the dimly lit surroundings and gentle shine of the display bottles beckoning you to its grasp. You blink to adjust to the sudden brightness, taking in the warm surroundings around you and the chatter of life encompassing your sides. The izakaya had a familiar grace to it, having been there so many times with so many different people, it always gave a feeling of home.
Before you could dwell on what the definition of âhomeâ actually was for someone like you any longer, a sudden hand firmly gripped yours in a tight handshake. Startled, you look up inquisitively before breathing out a sigh of relief you didnât even know you were holding in.
âFancy seeing you here, Miss Shihoin.â The reaperâs grey irises flicker in the mellow light as he humbly opens his arms out for a hug. Your eyes fill with a similar light, brightening at the comforting sight of your longtime companion before you envelop him in a warm embrace.Â
âOh, Hisagi! Itâs been forever.â You lament, squeezing his lean build in your arms tightly as if you hadnât seen him in millenia. The feeling of his warmth again does not go unappreciated by you. The lieutenant gives a husky chuckle, scruffing your hair before you look up to him and bombard him with your questions.
âWhat brings you here? I thought it was just the office and a few others coming.â You exclaim, watching the way the scars on his cheek contort as his mouth flicks up and gives you a beaming smile.
âOh, I just wanted to see you.â Shuhei jests, earning a rigid yet jocular slap on his arm from you.
âGod, youâre unfunny. Now seriously tell me!â
He gives a breathy sigh before continuing. âCome on⊠You don't already know? The old ball ânâ chains got me trapped here. Now Iâve got to deal with you too.â He snorts as he gestures behind him with a flick of his head.Â
Underneath the dulcet, warm lighting, the once-familiar scruffy way the tufts of his silken chestnut locks sat made your heart sing a harmony with its beats. A beautiful one you hadnât experienced in what felt like eons.
As you begin to get lost in the essence of the moment and the nostalgia of a past life, a honeyed voice tickles your eardrums pleasantly. The sly fox had already made its advance towards the feeble rabbit.
âI presume you made the most of your day off?â
Sosukeâs voice rang out, reverberating throughout your head. You shift your body to face the direction where he was speaking from, giving a curt smile through an attempt to appear as collegiate as possible. Not once did your stoic expression falter, even after he gave you such a charming smirk even the strongest of women could go weak in the knees for.
âI did in fact, thank you for the suggestion. I hope I did not leave too much work for you to do.â
You discern an unfamiliar look in his eyes as his pupils dart between you and Hisagi, a hint of spite exuding from his poker stare. âOh, you most certainly did. It excites me for you to see how much piled up while you were gone.â
At the sight of the colour draining from your face, Sosuke let out a snide chuckle, commenting,
âYouâll be fine. It is nothing you canât manage.â
His words carried a sense of knowing for your unyielding efforts, and you couldn't help but feel somewhat prideful at his âcompliment,â if that's what you could call it.
â- At least I hope.â He adds, Sosukeâs mirth cut off as his remark earned an elbow to his side as you shove past him. Yet as much as you tried, you couldn't hide the grin spreading across your face, or the song your heart sung each time you watched the corners of his smile curl into that forsaken smirk.
Excusing yourself, you amicably meet with other familiar faces and socialise, trying to keep your interactions with him to the lowest you could manage.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Setting yourself down comfortably next to Rangiku, your gaze drifts upwards to see who was seated across from you. And of course, as fate has it out for you, you had the pleasure of being in the close vicinity of Aizen Sosuke once more.
âCould you at least try to feign satisfaction with my presence? You glare at me as if I'm going to crush you with my sight.â
His irresponsible choice of words only furrowed your eyebrows further, and you shoot him a menacing scowl. He pauses, letting out a low sigh as he realises the gravity of his words and backstracks his statement.
âOkay, be like that, I will not judge.â
He receives a light huff from you in response, almost a giggle at how compliant he was being. This did not go unnoticed.
âWas that a laugh Miss Shihoin?â
Rangiku cranes her head slightly to eavesdrop, however retreats seeing your fiery side eye.
âNo.â
âIt most certainly was.â Sosuke rebuts, determination riling in his veins.
âIm just amused by how⊠Submissive youâre being.â you tease, the glacial look on your face gradually shattering as you watch his face contort into one of such repulsion, you couldn't help but let a laugh escape your lips.
âIâm sorry?â
âApology accepted.â
Now his look of repugnance wavers, seeing the way in which you revel at his discomfort, albeit him being the butt of the joke. He smoothly catches the napkin you fling at him, the both of you erupting into childish laughter. In your head, a sense of security and ease washed over the shore of your worries. Maybe, tonight was going to be okay. Maybe it was all okay, and the root of your consternation lies only in your own unresolved conflicts within yourself. You pour yourself a small glass of sake, an impudent grin stuck on your face before a familiar face plops himself next to Aizen.Â
âLook at you two, getting along. What a sight for sore eyes, hmm?â Shunsui jovially remarks, yet the rest of his remark remains unspoken in his mouth as he watches your expression change into one of pure repulsion. Instead, a breathy chuckle decides to leave his pursed lips. âStruck a nerve, havenât I?â
âCanât you just leave me alone for a second?â You criticise indifferently, yet the sides of your mouth couldn't help but curl upwards, shattering your illusion.
One that Sosuke saw right through, anyway.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
As the night drags on, you find yourself switching from table to table, meeting prosperous new business partners and learning of company affairs that were surely unbeknownst to Mr. Shunsui himself.
Finding yourself in the middle of a particularly cumbersome conversation, your fingers end up tracing the rim of your glass absentmindedly. Paying little heed to the monotonous voices chiming in cacophony around you, you watch as the drop of alcohol left on the side of the glass is caught by your finger. As you wipe it off on the side of your skirt, a certain voice makes your head perk up, a stark contrast against all the robots clanking and buzzing around you.
âOh? Is that what you think?â Aizenn sits across from you, impassively taking a slow sip of his sake. He seems to be in actual conversation with one of your business clients. With squinted eyes, you try to recognise the certain businessman that he was conversing with. Your intoxicated mind paired with your atrocious memory was not helping. All you could gouge from your memory and the exchange of words between the two men was that this was a sponsor of the Karakura building in relation with one of the larger clans in the Soul Society. The man made it sound like his efforts to support the karakura district were integral, that they were the water that allowed the blossom to flourish.
However, even too much water can cause the most hydrophilic waterlilies to drown. They must be able to balance, as even one sunken leaf can collapse the whole plant, leading it to its demise. And alas, such a beauty is tarnished with such ease.
âOh Sosuke, you hardly credit yourself enough. I heard about that Hell-bound Menos that you fought off the other day. Was that with these?â
The silver fox raises his eyebrows and casts a downwards glance, gesturing to Aizen's reiatsu cuffs.
âYes sir.â
For such a fearsome monster, he was acting somewhat⊠Tame? It was a little beguiling yet amusing nonetheless.
âThough, it was not without the help of Miss Shihoin.â He adds unexpectedly, causing your cheeks to flush. Playing it off as the alcohol, you clear your throat and respond curtly.
â...It was a team effort.â The sting of lying through your teeth was almost as bad as the strong whiskey that seared throughout your throat.
A cunning grin plasters itself upon the businessman's face, and leaning nonchalantly back into his seat, he continues.
âI guess having a handsome co-executive really pays off, huh? Motivating your office and all.â
âHuhâ indeed. What the hell was he getting at?
âMy looks are not in any relation to the efforts of my team, but I appreciate the compliment.â
The wily man sneers almost mockingly, as if trying to get a rise out of Aizen. You were used to members of the Gotei keeping their interactions with him to an absolute minimum or even avoiding him completely. But this? This was new. And most certainly unwelcome.
âOh come on, Sosuke. It's definitely your appearance. It's also a good look for the company, you know?âÂ
The complete nonsense coming from his lips shrouded your vision and rational thinking, along with the casual use of his first name coming from his lips inflating your temper more than it already has been. Something must be said, this kind of behaviour from an official reaches the heights of inappropriateness. And the next jab to leave his mouth rendered you speechless.
âI bet you could pick any of your coworkers.â Â
Aizen immediately shuts down his statement. âNo, we are all focused on our work, really.â His collected nature bewildered you beyond oblivion. Is he putting on a front to not get in trouble? No, even then, this is too far. It's not like he is one to care for his reputation, considering his antics.
âIâd say, you should leave the work to them sometime, and come speak to me privately-â
The loud bang of your glass slamming against the wooden table causes it to shake slightly under your force, abruptly putting an end to the foolâs beckoning.Â
âIâd suggest you be more cautious with what you say, sir.âÂ
âExcuse me?â The man's tone shifted to a more dense and viscous one, full of distaste. Still, you wad your way through the viscosity, not letting your resolve weaken.
âThe Goteiâs sexual harassment laws apply to same sex interactions too.â
Combing his salt and peppered hair back with his fingers, a more gobsmacked expression replaces his previous insouciant profile. As if you were the first to dare to challenge his superiority. And so what if you were? To hell with his self proclaimed authority. One of your employees was being blatantly disrespected right in front of you. In this moment, your defense is needed.
Right?
You swallow thickly, trying not to let your pride slip down your throat along with your saliva.
âIf the other feels uncomfortable, it is harassment. Regardless of if it is coming from a company relative or not.â Crossing your arms, you continue with newfound confidence watching the splay of emotions changing on the man's face.
âBesides, just listening to this conversation from the side is extremely unpleasant!â
Taken aback, the man attempts to get another word in, however you abruptly stand up and grab Aizen's wrist, cutting him off.
âCome on Mr. Aizen, let's go.â
And without a word, he follows.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
The lively chatter of the izakaya has certainly mitigated as compared to earlier on in the night. It seems the passage into nightfall has weeded out most of the customers, as only a few remain. A shame really, for they were to miss a show of unbridled romance as heartstrings are tugged, and even pulled until they tear.Outside the pub, you were the one to break the soft silence, aside from the buzz from the looming street light above and the occasional cicada.
âWhy did you let him speak such utter nonsense to you?â The words escape your mouth quicker than you expected, desperate for an explanation.
âY/N⊠You need to stay out of my business.â
Now it was your turn to be stupefied, your controlled mien erupting into a disastrous show of disbelief and wrath.
âIâm sorry?â
Aizen sighs before continuing, the tone of his voice only being able to be described as⊠Shallow. Emotionless, but not like he usually was. âDo you know who that man is? You couldâve caused not just our company serious issues, but me too. I am already confined enough as it is, are you trying to make it worse? And if you are, I suggest not sabotaging your whole career for it.â He snaps. A flash of indignation settles in his eyes, and it does not go unnoticed by you. Just as you thought everything was going better for you twoâŠ
âWe don't need to do business with those kinds of people! I can easily find a client more fit if that's what youâre worried about.â You spit his own venom right back at him, your tone laced with nothing short of pure poison. The once mellow and inviting light on the izakaya shines on Sosuke's sharp features, but this time, the shadows on the other side of his face made him look chilling.Â
Pointing your finger into his chest, you push him slightly backwards so he stumbles. âFor what it's worth, I respect you as a person. So I suggest you hold your ground more firmly!â You try your utmost hardest to remain composed, yet you couldnât stop your voice from cracking. How could he be so cruel, even after you stood up for him?
Wiping a stray tear from your eye, you walk away, your resolve shattered. In the end, you are the fool for ever thinking he would trust your opinion. For ever thinking he could agree with you, that's right.
In the end, it is my fault, and this is the burden I shall carry alone. For trusting an enigma such as himself.
Leaning against the wall of a dark and secluded alleyway, you weep. You contemplate and keep thinking of more things that have gone wrong in your life. You chased that high, and were reaping the release. Life had been unkind to your soul, and as a show of apology, a figure unsheathes itself from the shadows it had concealed itself within.
â... Miss Shihoin?â
Karin's usually phlegmatic and high spirited voice was reduced to a cautious murmur, letting out a soft gasp as she watches you turn around, watching the mascara run down your face. âOh, Karin!â You whip around, shielding your face from the light. Just great, you didn't expect one of your interns to be here, let alone Kurosakiâs sister herself.
âWhat are you doing out here alone?â Your voice comes out more hoarse than you expected.
âI could ask you the same thing.â She replies, assessing your frail state by scanning you up and down. You simper, acknowledging you were the one caught like a deer in headlights. To your surprise, the raven haired girl inches closer, inspecting your face more scrupulously. A tear slips down your cheek, and you hastily flick your wrist upwards to wipe it off. A vulnerable, feeble woman was not the kind of impression of yourself you wanted to leave on your new intern âApologies⊠You arenât meant to see me like this.â Karin raises an inquisitive brow, before you continue. âLook, you have no responsibility to interact with me out of work, I am more than happy to forget you ever saw me like this-â
âIs it Mr Aizen?â
All the colour remaining in your face immediately drained at her bold statement - one which was unfortunately spot on. Put on the spot seeing the uneasy look on her face, you just couldnât bring it in you to lie any further. â... Yes.â
âWhy don't you just get him out of the office? He seems to cause you a lot of distress.â
A chuckle makes its way out of your throat at Karinâs abrupt suggestion, but her firm expression does not waver.
â... It is my duty to maintain and enhance my business. Even if that means putting my personal feelings aside and letting someone I am not compatible with work alongside myself.â You respond, clasping the strap of your bag until your knuckles turn white. âThough⊠I do wish he knew how much it hurts sometimes.â
Karin gives what seems to be an understanding yet hesitant nod. You clear your throat, desperately wanting to crawl out of the thick mud that was this conversation. After a while of fumbling around in your pocket, you light a cherry flavoured cigarette and puff the smoke out to compose yourself.
âAnyways, you did not reply to my previous question. What are you doing out here alone?âÂ
Sheepishly, Karin's gaze averts from your face to her feet, her dark leather dress shoes apparently more interesting than her weary and drunk manager.
âUm⊠I left my phone inside the office today and by the time I realised, we had already made our way to the izakaya⊠So I went looking for you in case you might have the keys after the night ended.â
A weak yet compassionate smile spreads across your face in understanding. âAh, I see. I do have the key. We can head over now?â You offer benevolently, putting out your cigarette on the wall and chucking it into the nearest trash can.
You didn't expect Karin to already have her drivers license, as she offered to drive to the office. Thank God for that, as you would have dreaded taking public transport while being tipsy and hardly able to think. The impression you were making on the poor girl was already detrimental, you wouldnât want to make it any worse. She was such a bright girl, and the future most definitely held the most promising of experiences for her.Â
The flickering street lights pass by you, creating bright lines in your vision as you watch them go by through the passenger seat window. Each traffic light paints Karin's face a different colour, yet her stoic expression remains unchanged.
âAfter this, you head straight home, okay?â You state, deciding to break the dense silence between you two, and she only gives you a curt nod in response. It seems she was heavy in contemplation, so you let her be.Â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Lighting another cigarette, your gaze focuses on the gentle way in which the breeze carries the smoke in its arms, cradling it before setting it free into the atmosphere. The hot smoke ignites your lungs, before coolness is returned to your body once again after you breathe it out. Couldn't I waft away so freely, too? Won't someone hold me and set me ablaze, before releasing me?
A soft voice calls for you inside the office, and you finish up on the balcony and head inside.
âYes, Karin?â
You meet her by her side, next to your desk, noting the usb stick clasped in her hand.
âDo you mind if I access some statistics documents to submit in my report? I have to write one as an assignment.âÂ
You nod languidly, signing into your computer for her before taking a few steps back. âGo ahead. Iâll be waiting here.âÂ
Putting out your cigar outside, you return to find her carrying her belongings ready to go. Giving a knowing nod, you gesture for her to follow you and head off to the elevator. God, you just couldnât wait to get a good night's rest.

Temporary Whispers Of The Heart âčââĄâ | Sosuke Aizen X Reader
Chapter 9 | Take My Breath Away
Ë âŠ â§âË
Serene and tranquil the environment surrounding you was, as you were seated by a large lake. Beauteous, green flora sprung from every corner and the delicate fauna added life onto the vibrant terrain. As your eyes trailed towards the bright reflection of the sun above blinding the waters below, only one thing encompassed your mind. Or rather, person.
He couldnât see you from this distance, shielded by the evergreen bushes that covered your figure. Only one word could be used to describe Sosuke Aizen as he performed his training - Beguiling. The way beads of sweat glistened on his forehead and the tips of his bangs were drenched, sticking to his forehead⊠His heavy breaths as he heaved as well as his flushed cheeks tainted ever so slightly pink⊠The way he moved with purpose in the sharp yet graceful slashes of his shinai⊠Oh, it was all too much. You couldnât help but open your tattered, sepia leather notebook once more, flicking your calligraphy pen with gentle strokes against a blank ivory page.
You scribbled silly little sonnets, admiring his poise and movements. You studied him like the Shinigami he was - The God he was. The pinnacle of doctrinal beauty and celestial wit. Not to mention his way with words, they spilled from his mouth like the most perfectly sculpted ceramic teapot pouring a smooth stream of chamomile tea.Â
,,Such is the shape of your soul, that it is etched so deeply in my mind,
I will never again crave for oneâs love
like how my worn out heart
craves for you.âÂ
You shut your dilapidated notebook, shoving it once more into your messenger bag and scurrying away from the scene. A faint blush rose to your own cheeks as you reflected on your embarrassing actions and how humiliating your adoration for him was. As you flash-stepped back towards your lieutenant quarters, you accidentally bumped into a larger figure due to your carelessness when using the technique. You cursed under your breath, realising your bag had bust open and several papers and books now lay estranged across the plain underneath you. Blurting out a rash apology, your gaze trailed upwards to discern who the mystery figure was.
âAfternoon, Miss.â Ichimaru Gin kneeled down, aiding you in picking up your papers and books. However, a certain page had opened in a certain book that had been recently relevant to you. Smirking, a soft chuckle erupted into boisterous laughter as his eyes scanned the page. You looked down, mortified at what book he was reading and immediately snatched it from his grasp.Â
âIs this about who I think it is?â He queried, his curiosity spiking tenfold discerning your horrified expression and quick reaction.
âA lady's words are none of your business, Ichimaru.â You sputtered, clearing your throat and awkwardly adjusting the collar of your shihakusho. Ah, youâd been found out.
âDonât worry, Iâll keep it a secret. I can't say what Aizenâs reaction would be had he read something so personal like this written by you, though.â Gin chortled, aiding you in slipping the rest of the papers back into your bag.Â
âThen itâs a good thing heâll never know.âÂ
Ë âŠ â§âË
Your fingers slam against the keyboard, smashing the keys as you updated your most recent rant email. It was somewhat a healthy way to vent out emotion to the man behind your frustration. Karin had you dependent on it to manage your way through the week. Hooked onto the adrenaline that sparked whenever your fingers made contact with the keys on your cheap keyboard, you finish off your email and leaned back into your seat. It was Thursday, the day before the godforsaken day you would have to drag yourself to the office drinking party that you had promised Matsumoto that you would go to. You recall your dear friend's words the night before - about taking a day off. Maybe the stress was getting to you and just by looking into the cosmetic mirror clasped in your grip you could tell you had a severe case of cortisol face.
Should I ask..?
Slapping it shut, your eyes trail from the chunky ivory computer in front of you towards the east wall of the office, discerning the positioning of the two hands on the analog clock. The shorter hand rests atop I, the minute hand ticking conveniently onto XII the second you stared at it. Lunch break had ended quicker than it started, unfortunately.Â
One more tedious errand you were expected to carry out before the end of today, a direct order from Captain of the 4th division, Kuchiki Byakuya. One you had been dreading since todayâs dawn when you received the unpleasant message. You grimace as you recalled that cursed, thunderous ringtone startling you out of your slumber in the early hours of the day, the pixelated characters on the soul pager immediately ridding you of whatever somnolence remained in your system after your short sleep.Â
Dearest,
I hope you are well. I am in need of new Mod souls for the new soul reapers ranking up in my division that intend to work in both the human world and the Soul Society. The Urahara-shoten has sufficiently ordered my stock and I require you to pay the shop a visit. Iâm sure youâre aware as to why I am assigning this job to you. Put yourself together, and youâll remember why flowers still bloom in battlefields. Take care. Kuchiki Byakuya
Great, so now Byakuya had caught wind of the events that took place on that night. It certainly felt great to be the talk of the Gotei, just the kind of thing you needed to deal with now of all times. You knew that your outburst that evening was of utmost childishness and you would have to reap the repercussions some day, but so soon was definitely unexpected.
Sucking up whatever dread mixed with pride churned together and pooled in the pit of your stomach, you rose from your desk reluctantly. Intertwining the pretty ceramic mug between your fingers, you proceed to place it down next to the kitchen sink with a clank .Â
âGoing somewhere?â A husky voice behind you booms through your ears, slicing through your thoughts and snapping you from your endless rumination. Whipping around, you make eye contact with the perpetrator of your endless torture.
âYes, Iâve been assigned a job to do. In the meantime, please take care of the office while I am gone and ensure the interns have ample work to do.â You state curtly, facing him even through all your fears. The man of somehow both your dreams and nightmares huffs as you turn around to leer at him mockingly. His eyes slightly narrow at the sight of your weary face, obviously depraved of a good nights rest and ridded with worry. Something flashes across his features in that moment and you couldnât quite tell what it was.
âVery well then. Good luck on your treacherous journey.â Sosuke remarks with a sarcastic tone underlying his voice. Knowing your relationship, the man probably had the brightest, internal shit-eating grin seeing the worn out look on your face. A pleasant sight for a monster like him.
âThanks.â You had no energy to throw thinly veiled insults back and forth today, you had to mentally prepare yourself for the fire that was about to engulf you in its flames. Strutting away, you slung your leather messenger bag around your shoulder, preparing to depart from the office. Your sleek, black Valentinoâs clacked againt the floor as you made your way to repeatedly press your index against the elevator button to go down, the little ring around the button illuminating to a sapphire blue. Trudging into the lift, you flipped out your phone to clear all your notifications and reply to unread messages from various people. Â
A 2005 Toyota Corolla greets you in the carpark, your rusty yet trusty old artefact that you relied on for travel. Once you had entered the car and slid the seatbelt in its slot with a click , you took a couple deep breaths and then started the engine. âLetâs do this,â you whisper as if to hype yourself up and promptly slam your foot on the accelerator.Â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
The various houses and figures seemed to transform into squares and triangles in your vision as you felt yourself overcome by immense fatigue and stress. Speaking to Urahara after that whole ordeal would definitely be an experience, yet you were confident it wouldnât be one you couldnât deal with. Youâre an adult, a mature lady of class. This is my duty, you repeated like a mantra in your head, until it thoroughly gnawed through that thick skull of yours.
A soft smile embellishes your features as you stop at a red light and observe children frolicking and playing on the sidewalk, the sight warming your otherwise tense and frigid heart. Would you ever have children of your own one day? What a laughable concept. For that to happen, youd have to find someone to have children with firstâŠ
âŠ
Forcibly shaking the intrusive thoughts that had somehow crawled their way into your head, you drive off and eventually pull your car into the front of the shop you had been directed to. You sigh exasperatedly and reach down to grip your fingers onto the cool metal of your key to twist it and shut the engine off. Staring down at your hands in your lap stupidly, you murmur another curse under your breath. After fumbling around in your coat pocket for a bit, you impulsively latch onto a maroon, foiled little box. SWISHER BlackStone Cherry. 20 Cigars. Rashly, you push one out and bit on the end of the flavoured cigarette, lighting the other end of it with the crimson lighter in your other hand that you had taken from the dashboard of the passenger seat. What a rough week. You deserved it, right?
After taking a profound breath in, you exhale and exit the vehicle. Promptly tossing the mostly smoked cigar into a nearby trash can, you ponder if you should have just gotten an intern to do this job. Or maybe Sosuke. Wouldnât that be hilarious, forcing him to face his rival in sagacity. You hesitantly press three melodic knocks consecutively on the oak sliding door of the Urahara-Shoten, your eyes drifting to notice the various scratches and blemishes on the glass of the door. Honestly, Kisuke needed to polish up the place real bad. Recalling the last time you were present at this place gave you a headache almost as torrential as the one that resulted from your hangover that night.Â
With a jingle, the doors slide open and a familiar shopkeeper adorned in his abhorrent green samue greets you jovially at the door. âHello, dear customer, we are-â Kisukeâs sentence trails off at the mere sight of you - corrected, the miserable sight of you. The scent of flavoured cherry cigarettes and sharp lavender perfume pinches Uraharaâs nostrils and forces him to suppress a wince as well as the sheer shock of seeing you so soon.
âY/N,â he mutters under his breath, keeping a fervent smile on his face to mask his emotions. You return a collegiate smile back, studying his features intently.
âHow have you been?â You query tersely, sliding the door shut behind you in a polite fashion that paralleled with the tense conversation you two were about to have. The air shifted and the heaviness in both of your hearts could be felt by the both of you.
âIm quite alright, yourself?â Kisuke replies, turning his back to you as he was somewhat aware of what you may be here for. âKuchiki sent you in?â
You beam, humming as your eyes intently inspected the squalid shop and its.. unique elements. Dingy as always, which was certainly not much of a shocker to you. âYes, he did. Iâm here for the Mod souls he ordered.â
After a while of digging around in the back of his store, he returned with a small cardboard box in his grip. However, before handing it to you, he lets it slip out of his hands and slides it across the edge of the countertop adjacent to you. Then, slowly, he begins to advance towards you. Ah, fuck.Â
âLook Kisuke, Iâm-âÂ
âY/N. Have you been doing okay?â
You were disconcerted by the sudden inquiry to your welfare and an eyebrow of yours raises at the dishevelled man. âYes,â You state, unsure what he was getting at. âWhy do you ask?â
Kisuke lifts his hat off of his head, scruffing his blonde locks momentarily before piercing you with his mossy yet iridescent irises. âI want you to know, that I genuinely care for you,â He stops, as if questioning himself for the words about to exit his mouth. âIs there something else that encompasses your troubled thoughts, other than your sister?â
Now your narrow world seemed to narrow further. What on earth was he getting at? An unintentionally raspy tone slips from your lips as you respond. âI don't understand you.âÂ
âAlright, Iâll keep it straightforward. What is your relationship with Sosuke Aizen, Y/N?â
âŠ
Your mouth rests slightly agape as you pause at his words, feeling scrutinised and somewhat small under his extreme gaze. The hell? Prickled with a sense of omnipotent guilt, you respond in a stern and firm voice. âI have no relationship with the man other than collegiate. Why do you ask?â Somehow, it felt like you were lying through your teeth even though you knew you werenât.
Urahara clutches his hat tighter in his hands, letting out an unsatisfied sigh. He knew better than to go back and forth with you, though he wouldnât let his suspicions be swept under the rug that easily.Â
He hands the box back to you, intensely gazing into your eyes. âIâll give you one piece of advice then. Youâd want to keep your mutt on a leash. He bites.â He chuckles cynically, trying to lighten the mood with his terrible jokes.
You gruffly take the box out of his hands, somewhat offended even though he hadnât insulted you. âGood day then.â
Storming out of the shop, you toss the box into the backseat of your car before seating yourself inside the drivers seat. You follow this action by slamming your fists onto the steering wheel, yelling out a boisterous curse.
âFUCK!â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
To say you looked like shit was an extreme understatement. Wiping your puffy eyes once more, you curse yourself under your breath as you entered the office once more in closing hours to gather the rest of your belongings. You rashly grab a pencil strewn onto your desk, snapping it clean in half as you try to manage the vast emotions all flowing into you at once. What does he care? Why does he want to try and meddle with your relationships? You hated how much Kisuke tried to be protective over you, as much as he tried to seem like he was doing it out of consideration. The one thing you didnât want anyone to notice, he had noticed . You could tell he was getting suspicious - but how? Youâve never mentioned Sosuke once.
His words ring out in your head as you grab another pencil and snap it in half, carefully sliding the separated pieces into the trash can underneath your office desk.Â
Youâd want to keep your mutt on a leash,
He bites.
He bites!? Did he have some sort of interaction with him? You really didnât get it. Sosuke was silent that whole night and the two of them havenât quarrelled for years. Or is he just throwing vague threats into the air that you need to protect yourself against the monster in your office? As if you didnât know that already. There were a million things you wish you had said in that moment, all flowing into your already overwhelmed head at once.
Your hands start to flush as the pain of snapping several pencils begins to really hit your senses. You perceive just how loud the pants that erupted from your incessant heaving were as they echoed out into the empty office. In a failed attempt to calm yourself down, you soothe your hands with one another as they tremble.
âYouâre back late.â
You sharply turn to face the enigma, looming over your shrivelled frame sitting pathetically in your ergonomic leather office chair. He perceives your distraught expression and you swore you could see his eyes widen marginally, even if it was for a fraction of a second. He tskâs and kneels down next to you, sighing exasperatedly as he grabs your hands to stop them from rashly rubbing against each other in an effort to compose yourself.Â
You respond by quickly retracting your wrist from his grip, cursing under your breath as you swat his hands away. âWhat do you want?âÂ
âFor you to calm down. I can hear you heaving and huffing from a mile away.â Sosuke grins disparagingly, only serving to intensify your emotions tenfold. Feeling vulnerable under his gaze, you give in and let him wrap his hands around yours. The way he cradles your hands in his somewhat soft yet calloused grip was akin to a priest holding a sacred text. And, like a priest, a sermon left his lips reverently.
âI donât want to see you here tomorrow. Go home, Y/N. You clearly canât do your work properly.â He scoffs sardonically, yet the pious method in which he rubs his thumbs against your palms gracefully served as a stark dichotomy to his tone. Your gaze drifts downwards, bridling despite the gentleness of his grasp. Who were you now, to begrudge an act of kindness from Aizen himself? An almost forgotten art.
âWhat did you say to Kisuke.â You blurt out, the words escaping your lips before you could properly muse over them.Â
âIt does not matter-â You hurry to cut his stupidly dismissive sentence off, demanding an answer. âWhat. Did. You. Do?â
He shakes his head and chuckles, his mind clearly pondering the words that were about to come out. âI didnât do anything that may have harmed your reputation, do not fret. I just put someone in their respective place, thatâs all.â
âWell whatever you did, you fucked me over and now Kisukeâs suspicious that Iâve made you into my personal mutt and now affiliates me with you . Thanks, you cunt.â You stood up to assert superiority over him, raising your voice at him slightly. However, it falters immediately as you lock eyes with Sosuke kneeling almost devotedly in front of your chair, looking up at you. He looks up at you as if you were the one who had ascended to a celestial being analogous to a God .Â
Sliding your hands out of his grip, you snatch your bag and promptly sign yourself out of the office. âI will take your words into consideration and rest tomorrow. And in the meanwhile, I suggest you reflect on your actions.â
âLanguage, young ladyâŠâ He mutters under his breath as he watches you leave helplessly, pressing his fingers into his brow ridge and huffing indignantly.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Arising melancholically from your slumber, you groggily roll over to check the time on your alarm clock. Seeing what time it was immediately caused you to shoot up in your bedsheets and grip the poor clock in your hands so tightly you could hear a slight creak in the poor quality plastic that barely held it together. 12PM? You ended up sleeping for a whopping 12 hours. And apparently all your loved ones assumed you had either descended to bed or ascended to heaven as you check your phone, seeing an array of notifications.
R u okay? I heard ur taking the day off work. Thx for listening to my advice for once u stupid bitch. I better see u tonight Take care lovely!! - Ran ran (â â ââ âżâ ââ â )â âĄ
Tonight? Ah, it clicked. Tonight was the dreadful office drinking party that Matsumoto and the others had organised at a local bar in Karakura.Â
You roll out of bed, heading to the bathroom to perform your routinely scan of your face right after you wake up. Wincing at your reflection in the mirror along with the sunlight that bounced off the reflective surface right into your eyes, you mentally prepared yourself for a very, long night.

11:54 amÂ
With a coffee cup in one hand and important documents tucked away under your other arm, you hurriedly push through the lunch crowd gathered in the office cafeteria. You must deliver these to your boss before he makes another snarky comment regarding your tardiness. There was an important meeting starting soon, so you had to deliver these documents on time. Why couldnât the coffee just wait?
Oh yaâŠ.because your boss likes to bully you.
You push through the crowd and manage to land at the foot of the elevators but the only elevator available closes on you. You bite your tongue, promising yourself to not swear and rush towards the stairs. Ugh! No way you could make it to the twelfth floor in those heels.Â
Feeling defeated, you received a text message from your boss, throwing yet another wrench in your path. You fumble with your free hand and pull your phone out of your skirtâs pocket but end up dropping the envelope that was tucked under your arm. You didnât notice it and began to slowly ascend the stairs to hell. Ya, hell resided upwards around here.
I suppose I will be doing these meetings without my coffee today. I canât seem to open my eyes. I wonder whyâŠ. -asshole boss
You sigh, already exhausted and continue to make your way to the 12th floor. At least you got your daily cardio out of the way. You were a sweaty panting mess by the time you got to the top. It would have been much easier to wait for another elevator but it took forever as the building only had three elevators but 20 floors to deliver busy frantic humans like yourself.Â
12:01pm
You ran down the hallway of the 12th floor, a minute too late but just when the door to the conference room was about to shut in your face, you got your foot in.Â
The door opened midway and your bossâs sly grin greeted you.Â
âYou are lucky the meeting is running a little late. Luck truly is on your side todayâ, he smirked, his scheming slit eyes giving you the shivers.Â
âSorry, Mr. Ichimaru. We can really use some more elevators around hereâ, you reply, trying not to sound condescending. But Gin latched onto the subtle remarks and amplified them to more than what they were worth.Â
âFeeling very privileged today, princess? Would you like a chariot to go with it?â, he mocked while grabbing his coffee from your hand. âAnd you certainly are travelling light todayâ.Â
âWhat do you meanâŠshit!â You just realized the space under your armpit was empty. You dropped the envelope along the way. Your skin suddenly feels clammy and your heart trembles in your ribcage. Your heart still hadnât settled from climbing 12 flights of stairs and you were just about ready to collapse on the floor.
You glanced up at him, that smug look on his face made you nauseous. He celebrated your tormented state.Â
Suddenly you felt a tap on your head from behind. You glanced up and noticed a man with short brown hair, brown eyes and square-shaped glasses tapping your head with an envelope.
SĆsuke Aizen.Â
âClumsy as always. You must be careful with classified and valuable information. Canât let the enemy get to these,â Aizen said with a charming smile. He was brilliantly making you realize the gravity of your blunder in his own cunning way.Â
Most women (and men) would fall for his sweet charm and that sparkling radiant blinding smile. But behind those glasses was a man who had an agenda. There was something about him that was disingenuous.Â
You shuddered and looked away. Aizen was Ginâs other assistant. Your competition. Your nemesis. You abhorred him. Mostly because he once got you fired over a trivial mistake and you used your contacts and the labour board* as a threat to keep your position. That bastard was trying to step over you and get closer to that promotion that was dangled in front of you for months. It was a double salary increase and extra bonuses. And only one position to fill. And by the looks of it, he probably will be offered that position.Â
âWhat? So you were following me? Creepâ, you mumbled like a child being scolded by two grown adults.
âIdiot! You got me fired the first time! Why would you even consider saving my ass now?â, you yell.
Gin looked down at his expensive Rolex watch and glanced at Aizen while lightly tapping his watch, signalling him.
âNow now play nicely children. We have a meeting to attend,â Gin said while grabbing the envelope from Aizen.Â
Aizen and Gin entered the room and proceeded to close the door on your face again. You quickly jammed your foot in between the door before it disrespectfully slammed on your face.
âHey wait! Why does Sosuke get to sit in on the meeting and I donât? We both share the same position! This is sexist!â You are fuming. Sitting in an important meeting just guaranteed he was getting the promotion. You were stubborn and determined. You will not be defeated by that scum!
Both Aizen and Gin looked at each other as if talking telepathically. You used the sexist card. You played slimy and that intrigued them.Â
âVery well. Just be sure to keep all the information you hear confidentialâ, Gin warned before opening the door again to let you inside.Â
As you set foot into the room, unfamiliar faces greet you. They looked intimidating but important. If you thought Aizen gave you the killer vibes, these men and women meant serious business. They looked more like bloodthirsty hounds.Â
As you took a seat beside Aizen, both of you were presented with a clipboard with documents to sign.
âNDA.** Just so critical information doesnât leak out of this room todayâ, Gin explained as he dropped the clipboards on the table.Â
You flipped through the pages, legal jargon not part of your vocabulary. You hesitated, questioning why this was 30 pages long. You sneak a quick peek over at Aizen who was eagerly signing away the papers without even glancing at the text. A pang of jealousy hits you. Desperately pushing your doubts aside, you proceed to sign the forms. You will not let this man beat you just because you questioned the contents of the contract. For all you know, you could be signing your life away. Which you were.
After the signatures were gathered, you pushed the clipboard across the table towards Gin who made sure every page was signed on the dotted line. Once that was confirmed, the meeting was underway.
Everyone at the table was quite the colourful bunch. Both appearance and personality.
âSo is the deal finally done? I canât be wasting my time away here. Ainât getting youngerâ.
âTchâŠ. How hard is it to get a damn signature from a dead man? Let me at it. I bet I can scare it outta the decrepit old manâ. This destructive one was ready to jump on the table and pull out his claws.Â
âWhy was I dragged out here if the deal wasn't even made. I was in the middle of a nap in my own solitudeâ.
âYou certainly need to find a cure for your narcolepsy. My pharmaceutical company has just the cureâ.
âWhy is there an insignificant fly in our room?â Says the guy supporting an eyepatch.Â
Everyone paused. Everyone paused to look at you. You were the fly. Just you. No one was looking at Aizen. It got so quiet you could hear a pin drop.Â
âDonât mind her. She is âŠ...or was my personal assistant. And yes, TĆsen was able to grab the signatures from old man Yamamoto. Congratulations everyone. SS Corp officially belongs to LN Corp.â Gin explained.
âWait what?â You are stunned. Shocked. Jaws dropped. Did the company you worked for just get bought out? âThe famous LN Corp bought this company?â You heard of LN Corp and all its rich schemes.Â
âMy dear y/n. You were so determined to prove your worth and outperform me that you failed to read the contract you just blindly signed.â Aizen spoke beside you, his arrogant voice irking you. Why was he in on all the details and you looked like an ignorant incompetent worker.
âYou signed the same damn thing. Right?â you asked. Now you doubt he even signed anything and this was just a trap.
You quickly grabbed the contract that carried your signature and flipped through the pages. It was definitely an NDA but for LN Corp. And the next few pages you so eagerly signed away was a contract to work for LN Corp. You signed yourself a new job.Â
Oh, wait wait wait. Itâs about to get even better.Â
Gin opened the envelope you happened to misplace earlier. The envelope contained the signed documents for new ownership. TĆsen was responsible for going to the retirement home and tricking the old man into signing over the business to LN Corp i.e., Sosuke Aizen.Â
âYou own LN Corp!!â You scream when you notice his name under ownership.Â
âSuch excitementâ, Aizenâs ego was growing with his smile. âCongratulations y/n. You just got yourself that promotion you so desperately yearned for. StartingâŠ.now you work forâ he pointed to his name on the ownership documents. âme.â Oh you wanted to rip that smile off his face and feed it to the dogs.
âI resignâ. You flat-out refuse to work with your nemesis. You have been working for this company for three years and Aizen was always a thorn in your backside. You were competing with a man who was pretending to work for a company so he could slowly sweep it up in his palms. That was some next-level espionage and stratagem. No wonder you never trusted the guy.
âYou canâtâ, he extended his arm out to gently tap on the contract with his index finger that lay before you. Oh, you wanted to shred that damn document into a million pieces.Â
âWhy?â You tried not to choke up from the betrayal. You couldnât even call this betrayal considering it was your own incompetence. But it was still a betrayal to the company and all its hard-working staff.
âWhy what? You will have to be a bit more proficient with your communication skills if you wish to survive as my assistantâ.
âWhy did you do this?â You rephrased, not really adding more context.Â
âDid you not see the signs? The business was running itself to the groundâ, he replied without further explanation. No further explanation was needed.
It was true. The company was suffering. Since the owner of the business went into retirement, his two adoptive sons were put in charge. One son was constantly sick and in the hospital. The other son immersed himself in the lavish lifestyle of partying and womanizing. You could see the company losing big clients every day. The financial numbers didnât lie.
Aizen could tell he had hooked you in. Your expression had softened slightly but you were still on the edge here.Â
âI suppose I should introduce my new personal assistant to my team and shareholders,â Aizen glanced across the room full of people who were quietly watching the drama unfold.Â
âNo need. She gets in our way, we will crush her.â The one sitting the furthest from the group bellowed with a slight hint of rage in his voice.
âWatch your tone and know your rank. Impudence and discourteous behaviour will not be tolerated in my organizationâ, Aizen reminded the room full of deranged shareholders as he narrowed his eyes and scanned the room. It almost felt like he scolded a bunch of kids. But it also demonstrated the power and influence he truly possessed. He wasnât the same low-ranking insignificant modest office worker you came to loathe over the last three years. Although he wasnât the same man, your resentment and hatred towards him grew.Â
The rest of the meeting was a foggy blur. You couldnât focus as your brain was still processing what just unfolded. The trickery, the betrayal and the level of commitment. You have to give Aizen some credit for his creativity and endurance. To be a filthy rich bastard but to tolerate years of mistreatment and degradation. Knowing the size of his ego, it must have been hard.Â
Little did you know he had you to thank for his patience and tolerance and partially, his success.
âCongratulations on that promotion.â Gin pats your back, jolting your body and pulling you out of your nervous trance.
Everyone had slowly cleared out of the room and headed out for some celebration.
2:00 pm
You were waiting in front of the elevators to head back down to the ground floor. It was just you and Aizen waiting as everyone had already left ahead of you.Â
You awkwardly began to tap your heels as you waited. Aizen gave you a side glance, the annoyance hard to miss.Â
âSo you going to install more elevators?â You asked, filling the air of uneasiness that surrounded you two.
âThat will be the first thing on my agenda,â he replied. Not sure if he was being sarcastic or really was taking your advice into consideration.Â
And the silence settled back down. After what felt like an eternity, the elevator doors finally spread open, revealing the empty compartment, and inviting you into another uncomfortable realm. You really hoped there was an occupant in that elevator to cut through the dry awkwardness. Alas, you must continue to suffer today.Â
And suffer you shall.
As you entered the elevator, your right heel got stuck in the gap. You panicked. Not because of your heels getting destroyed but because you were making a complete fool of yourself in front of your new boss. Because you are in a state of panic, logic didnât kick in until you felt Aizenâs warm hands on your exposed calf muscle, it instantly sent a shock up your spine. His other hand landed on your ankle and with gentle care, he maneuvered your foot to dislodge the heel from the gap. Thatâs when you realize the man had squatted down on his knees for you. Your heart fluttered in your chest and you stood there dumbfounded.Â
âMy dear y/n, you are standing in the middle of the elevator door. Have you forgotten how elevators function?â, he joked as he stood inside the compartment, alone, relishing in your dumb moments.Â
Thankfully, the heart flutters were short-lived. You were obviously losing your mind because for a second you just found this four-eyed scum attractive. But as soon as he opened his mouth, that feeling was thankfully shattered.
âAre you in need of some coffee?â, he asked as you walked into the elevator and he pressed the button to the ground floor.
âAdvilâ, you reply while rubbing your forehead. A dull headache was brewing in the background.Â
âIâm sure Szayelaporro will have some on hand. Although, I wouldnât trust anything coming out of his pockets,â he warned. The elevator doors closed and you began your descent. Descent to another nightmare.
âWhy are you being so nice to me? It doesnât suit youâ.
âYou are my employee now. I can not have a harassment complaint filed against me so soonâ.Â
Fair enough. You will ignore the so soon part for now.Â
Silence hung heavy in the air once more. You felt suffocated. Claustrophobic. The elevator couldnât go any faster but your heart was starting to speed up again. You gave him a side glance and he just looked straight ahead through his dorky glasses, watching the digital numbers above the door getting smaller.
With the sound of a familiar ding, you finally reached your destination. As the elevator gave off its chime, so did his smartwatch. He glanced at the small screen shackled against his wrist and his brown eyes behind those square-shaped glasses lit up.
âIt appears the party has already startedâ, he explained his enthusiastic appearance.
âHuh?â
The doors slid open to reveal the main lobby overtaken by all the employees, previous shareholders, investors and the owners of SS Corp. He gracefully exited the elevator and you shyly followed behind. Almost as if rehearsed for a grand opening, the other elevator doors simultaneously glide open and Aizenâs own team of thugs step out, completely shifting the dynamics.Â
Oh so now the elevators function efficiently.Â
âCame to congratulate me?â Aizen smiled as he locked his gaze straight ahead at the two brothers who happened to lead the standoff.
âHow long have you been plotting this?â Shunsui asked, wearing a light pink suit, the smell of his strong floral cologne taking you back to the day he interviewed you three years ago. Despite his reputation, he was a gentle caring man with a heart of gold. You had barely any experience in this industry but he still put faith in you and hired you on the spot. Your heart suddenly felt heavy.
âI would not call a seized opportunity a ployed plot. The fruit was hanging loosely from the start and ready to fall. I just happen to be the first to hang a net underneathâ, Aizen explained with his cocky smile.
âHow can you do this to us, SĆsuke? We trusted you and you misused that trust,â Jushiro stepped in. He was dressed far less formally, his body frail than ever.
âI knew I couldn't trust him. I did warn you two about his shady persona,â Shinji paced forward from among the crowd of former employees.
Yes, former. The first course of action Aizen took wasn't the elevators he supposedly promised. He had already fired all the previous staff so he could rebuild the company on his own terms.Â
Momo, a small timid intern who looked up to Aizen for god knows what absurd reason, stepped forward. She was practically in tears.Â
âMr. Aizen. Is someone forcing you to do this? You can tell us the truthâ, she squeaked in full denial.Â
Aizen ignored her and took off his glasses to run his fingers through his short brown hair to reveal his true sexy demeanour. He crushed his glasses in his fist and let the fragments fall to the ground, just like Momoâs tears. Your mouth was about to drop. He looked so different. So enticing. Funny how simply rearranging your hair a little and removing the glasses can change a face.
âThank you for coming but I believe you are trespassing on my turf. Although I haven't had time to hire security, my team will be plenty to see you out.â Aizen pointed at his team of rich thugs standing behind him. They were all looking for some action, especially the blue-haired one.
âLooks like we have no choice but to clear out. For now. You will hear from our lawyers sometime today,â Shunsui warned Aizen and his team. This teddy bear of a man was always looking for a peaceful way to resolve matters.Â
âAh yes, the lawyers from Central 46 law firm. Throw them a penny and I am sure they will come barking. Let me leave you with one piece of advice. Find another law firmâ, Aizen advised. He was also not wrong there. Those corrupt hounds were partially the reason why the company suffered. Combined with horrible legal advice that resulted in a slew of lawsuits and litigations along with awful financial advice that sank the company to the ground.
âI appreciate the unsolicited advice from a man who forced a dying old man for a signatureâ. Shunsuiâs gaze had darkened. You had never seen that man this serious before. His carefree and playful nature, gone. Although he appeared calm, behind those eyes was a look of hurt, a wound that was dug so deep that it reached his heart. And it had nothing to do with Aizen. His pain-filled gaze finally fell on you as you stood behind the traitor. âAnd as for you my sweet y/n, the day I hired you I expected great things from you. This was not the âgreat thingsâ I expected of youâ.Â
You felt the world around you go dark and you were in the epicentre of the gloom that suddenly spread like the plague. You were lumped into the traitor category by the man who took pity on you and gave you a chance in a career. You felt a sharp knife pierce through your chest and you began hyperventilating, your chest feeling heavy with each strained breath. You looked away but you could still feel Shunsuiâs intense gaze on you. That is until Aizen protectively stepped in front of you to shield you from the judgemental stares.
You tried to open your mouth several times to defend yourself and tell him how your hand was forced into this messy situation. But no words came out. Regardless, you signed an NDA and there was nothing you could disclose that was discussed in that meeting, including details about your recent employment.Â
You watched the lobby slowly clear out. All your old friends and coworkers gave you a look of disappointment and some even greeted you and Aizen with the middle finger salute. Rangiku stepped forward and took off her engagement ring. She grabbed Ginâs spider-like fingers and pushed the ring onto the palm of his hand before walking away. Gin expected this to happen. He just stood there emotionless but you swear you could hear his heart weeping.
2 months later
They say time heals all wounds. But you were still deeply wounded, heartbroken and depressed. All of your friends and previous coworkers had blocked you. You were completely isolated thanks to Aizen. Although work kept you busy, the nightmare started when you entered the empty apartment that reminded you of your despair and loneliness.Â
You hate to admit it but the company was finally back on track and flourishing. Aizen already purchased more companies and his empire was growing. He was a hard worker, dedicated to his cause but also actively involved, unlike the previous owners. Even though he fired the previous staff, he created more job opportunities. Within two months he had flipped the fallen kingdom into a prosperous paradise.
But you still hated him. You despised him. He was a dripping venom slowly poisoning you day by day. And you were counting down the days until your year-long contract ended.Â
He was uncharacteristically nice to you. He treated you better than Gin ever did. He treated you better than he treated any other employee. He was a different man but you did not trust a single word that came out of his treacherous mouth. Rightfully so.
12:30 pm
Another lengthy meeting just ended. Your fingers were cramping from all the typing and transcribing. Everyone had trickled out of the conference room, leaving just you to finish off the meeting notes. You flinched when you heard a thud beside you. A white take-out box was resting on the table beside your laptop.
âNo thanks," you refused. This wasnât the first attempt he made to get you to eat.
âThis is not a request. Itâs an order. I can not have my personal assistant passing out on me in the hallwayâ. Aizen reminded you of that one incident from last week. Ambulance was called and he personally went to the hospital to make sure you werenât dying.
âI have no appetite,â you explained while not looking away from your screen and continued to type.
He pulled out a chair beside you and sat down. You eyed him from the corner of your eyes and noticed how well he was groomed. His hair gelled back with a few loose strands hanging freely as if in defiance. He was wearing an expensive custom-tailored suit and an expensive watch on his wrist that probably cost more than your car. Gone was his run-down beat-up Toyota and he was travelling in style between a range of sports cars and his private jet. You still couldnât believe he had the willpower to leave all those lavish luxuries behind for three years. He was a man of pure devotion and unyielding obstinacy.Â
And once again you caught yourself admiring him. Curse it! You hated him! Why was your willpower so weak! And it didnât help that he looked so ravishing in that suit and without those dorky glasses.
He just leaned back on the chair, legs and arms crossed. âYour face is growing pale and hollow. Gone is that spark that once allured meâ.
âHuh?â You thought you hallucinated there for a second, the consequences of your low blood sugar.
âYou heard me loud and clear. I know my actions triggered some animosity between us. But direct that anger towards me and not your bodyâ.
You look at him with astonishment and with your mouth hung open. âWho are you? And where is the asshole SĆsuke hiding?â
He just gave you a soft chuckle. âJust eatâ.
You gave him a suspicious look. You closed the laptop and opened the take-out counter, revealing your favourite comfort food, stir-fried rice. You grabbed the chopsticks and began stirring the rice around but you were unable to even stomach the smell.
âItâs not poisonedâ, he reassured you.Â
âYou think I would trust youâ.Â
He reached forward, grabbed the chopsticks from your hands and proceeded to elegantly help himself a few bites. âWait 5 minutes. If I drop dead, you were correct to not trust me.â
âWhy are you being so kind to me? After what you put me through. Why didnât you just let me go like everyone else?â Questions you asked yourself every sleepless night. You reached across the table to grab some water as your mouth suddenly went dry.
âBecause you are my lucky gemâ.
âPardon?â You almost choked on a mouthful of water. âDid the great billionaire SĆsuke Aizen finally lose his marbles?â
âHow do you think I accomplished all this!? It was you. Before I met you, I had no desire to pursue this endeavour. I hated waking up every morning and putting on a mask to cast illusions upon illusions and degrade myself to the level of a commoner. But then you show up one day. One decent thing that lazy KyĆraku did for this company was hiring you. Having you around motivated me to continue on with this impossible goal. You helped manifest my desires into reality. I owe it all to youâ.
There was absolute silence as you quietly processed what he just dumped on you. It must have been hard for a man like Aizen to suddenly become so vulnerable and confess something very personal. His ego must have taken a big critical blow.Â
But it didnât entertain you the slightest bit. A storm cloud was growing and it finally erupted.Â
âScrew you Sosuke! Donât put this heavy burden on me! Donât make me responsible and the reason why everyone lost their jobs. Just because you had some divine revelation and I just happen to be inconveniently around you. Fuck off and drop dead!â You got up, grabbed your laptop and stormed out of the room.Â
Gin just so happens to be standing outside, eavesdropping at the best of times. Once you were out of sight, he entered the room, your recent outburst still ringing fresh in his ears.
âMaybe you shouldnât have used the lucky gem pick-up line,â he suggested with a grin on his face.
You sat in your private office that you were so generously granted after your promotion. You hated the grandness of it. You hated the bleak walls, the paint, the windows and most of all you hated how it was connected to his main office. The close proximity to him made it difficult to focus when he would unexpectedly barge into your office whenever he pleased.
And the door swung open for the twentieth time today as he paced towards you with sheer determination. You didnât look up from your laptop as you got used to reading his footsteps and analyzing his mood.
He tossed a bunch of files onto your desk.Â
âRead these reports tonight. If you still think I was in the wrong, donât show up for work tomorrow. Consider your contract terminatedâ.
And just like that, he walked away, leaving you alone to wrestle with your racing thoughts.Â
The next day.Â
8:00 am
You couldnât sleep all night. The contents of the report haunted you.Â
It enlightened you and now you understood why Aizen took such drastic measures to take over the SS Corp. To summarize, SS Corp was already set to be sold to a ruthless and ambitious clan and once they set foot into town, they would have spread their influence like wildfire. Aizen was simply trying to keep the Quincies out of town. They would have taken over the SS Corp and fired everyone anyway considering they only hired members of their own clan.Â
But still, he did not have to fire everyone as soon as he took over. Would they have stayed? You truthfully ask yourself. You were ready to resign on the spot as soon as you found out about Aizenâs scheme.Â
Knowing the truth, you realized there was a pivotal choice to be made.Â
1:00 pm
âSo you want me to put out a job posting for a new personal assistant?âGin offered as he sat in your personal office while Aizen paced back and forth.
âNot a word from you. Especially when you haven't rectified your problem.â Aizen passed the cunning man a side glance.Â
Gin was just about to say something snarky but was startled by the door suddenly swinging open. For a second Aizen expected you to walk in. But he was disappointed to see a familiar blond with large bosoms barging in as if she owned the place.Â
âSo itâs true? You did this to keep them out of our town?â, Rangiku asked while stomping towards Gin, her breasts swaying and almost ready to pop out of her low-cut blouse.Â
âI didnât do anything but yes, I happened to support the cause,â Gin replied, his bright blue eyes slowly revealing like the moon.Â
âWhy didnât you say something, idiot!âÂ
Aizen looked at Gin and slowly began to make his way out of the room. He had no business there and he did not wish to stick around and see how things unfolded. Considering how Rangiku wasnât dressed so modestly, he wouldnât be surprised if she wasnât wearing any panties under that skirt.Â
âSo itâs true?â Came your voice as you stood beside the doorway to your office, leaning against the wall with your arms crossed over your chest.Â
Seeing you physically standing there before him, Aizen felt a wave of relief wash over him.
âYou told her?â, Aizen asked, trying to act unfazed by your presence.Â
âShe deserves to know,â you replied to justify your breach of privacy. If things turn out well between those two, this mistake will be easily swept under the rug.Â
You heard a thud inside your office.
âAre theyâŠ..â You almost did not want him to finish your sentence.Â
âHaving make-up sex on your desk? They most certainly are.â
âEw ew I want a new desk!â You heard the squeaky sounds of springs. âAnd a new couch!â
Aizen stared at you, his eyes blinking several times before letting out a soft sigh of relief. âSo you will continue to work for me?â
âListen, I hate how you approached everything. Clearly, you like to do things on your own. But maybe you need to start asking for help and have a little more faith in people.â You notice his eyebrows shoot up as you pretty much expose him. âOh, did I hit the nail on the head?â You grinned.Â
âWith accurate precision.â
There was a moment of silence. The moans and groans in the background were definitely stirring things up and setting the mood for what was to come next.
Aizen took the initiative and wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you closer into his arms. His soft lips brushed up against yours before he completely immersed himself in the pleasure of tasting you. It didnât take long for the tongues to join in and what was supposed to be a gentle introductory kiss, turned into a passionate display of pent-up desires.
With the lips still working, he slowly pushed you up against the wooden double doors that led to his office. He pressed his body against yours, feeling his growing need poking against your stomach. With one hand still on your waist, his other hand reached for the door handle.
âNo! Not in there. I can hear those two,â you stopped him from proceeding any further.Â
âThen where do you suggest?â he asked, unable to wait any longer. He was just about ready to take you in the hallway.Â
âThe conference room down the hall,â you suggested and without any protest, he grabbed your hand and began to lead you towards the conference room.Â
Clothes were already off before you even made it into the conference room, kissing and making out along the way, feeling deprived even for a second your lips fell apart. He pushed your naked body up against the cold door, his lips never once leaving yours and his fingers slowly pushing into your heated wet folds. You let out a soft moan into his mouth which he eagerly swallowed while thrusting two fingers deep inside your pussy.Â
He wanted to take his time with you, prep you and make you cum several times before he had his way. But his twitching cock was painfully erect and a leaky mess. Only the warmth of your pussy would help subside the growing discomfort.Â
âI donât have condoms on meâ, he whispered once he got you spread out onto the giant conference table. Not like he was going to stop doing what he pursued but it might change the outcome.Â
âItâs a safe windowâ, you reassured him as you laid on your back, your arms wrapped around his neck as he positioned himself between your thighs.Â
He pressed the tip of his cock against your fold and watched it slowly disappear inside you. The feeling of your tight walls pulsating around his invading shaft almost sent him into a spasm. But he managed to ground himself, his hands firmly anchoring down your pelvis and his hips began to plunge forward.
You had a hard time containing your moans. Each thrust sent your eyes rolling to the back of your head as he continued to rotate his hips and repeatedly abused the same spot. He was very intuitive, his eyes scanning for subtle changes in expression and ears picking up the slight pitch shift in your voice and he adjusted accordingly. He wasnât just chasing for his own high. He wanted to cum in unison and make a mess together until the air was filled with the overwhelming aroma of two lovers who have completely surrendered themselves over to lust.Â
And cum he did. Several times. Each time a feeling of warmth would fill you up as ropes of cum penetrated deep into your infertile womb, staining your walls with his seed.Â
3:30 pm
Both of you were completely spent as you lay motionlessly in the center of the rectangular table. His arm was underneath your head to help support your neck while your legs and pelvis were entangled in the most intimate way possible, his softened cock still lodged into your sex.Â
âSo what next? I canât continue having sex with my boss. Company policyâ, you reminded him.
âWell I am the boss and can bend the rules to my likingâ, he replied, his ego dripping with no restraint.
âOr I can just find another job. I donât want special treatment just because I am sleeping with the CEO,â you suggested.Â
âOut of the question! I need you by my sideâ, he protests.
âOh yea. I forgot. I am your lucky gem or whatever,â you mocked and rolled your eyes, still finding it ridiculous that he would credit all his success to you.Â
His other hand went to grab your right hand and he placed your palm up against the center of his chest. You could feel his heart beating against the walls of his ribcage.
âI want to keep you close to my heartâ, he whispered unexpectedly.
âGross.â You felt a little uncomfortable but your heart certainly quivered.Â
âThat was a figure of speech.âÂ
âI know. Just not used to you being this romantic.â
âWell this is my true self. True unadulterated self, free of any illusions. You are an elixir to immortality. I feel like keeping you close to my heart will help me accomplish anythingâ.Â
âAnything?â You give him a smug grin, his magnificent ego finally rubbing up against yours.Â
âAnything, my dear.â
Your little sweet tender moment was interrupted by a gentle knock at the door. You look at him, wide-eyed with realization. You had his schedule memorized weeks in advance.
âShit you have a meeting!â, you whisper in a panic, his dick slowly hardening inside you from the pure thought of being discovered. Â
The door knob jiggled before it did a complete 360.Â
The End?

Temporary Whispers Of The Heart âčââĄâ | Sosuke Aizen X Reader
Chapter 8 | The Wonder Of You
Ë âŠ â§âË â
The autumn leaves left goosebumps on your skin as they gently caressed you, falling gracefully from the tree you were seated under. You munched on the gyoza in your hands, a snack you had mustered with your low income. Tainting the sky a myriad of ochre, the sun began to set under the horizon. And just as you were about to lie down on the blanket you had placed underneath you, the voice of a girl could be heard behind you.
âIs that⊠Pork gyoza?â
Snapping your head behind you, you discerned a little girl with a lieutenant badge. Yachiru Kusajishi. Her soft pink hair flowed slowly in the wind as she gazed at you with large eyes.Â
âYes. It isâŠâ You reply, slightly intimidated.
Noticing her eyes drifting to stare hungrily at the dumplings beneath you, you smiled and decided to give one to her.
âYou seem hungry. Would you like one?â
Yachiru smiled giddily, readily accepting the food as she plops herself down next to you.
âThank you! Youâre so kind.â
You returned a grin, letting out a soft breath of laughter as you watched her devour the food given to her.
âHey⊠Why are you out here? Whereâs your home?â
She mumbles between bites, readily gulping down your snack. You sheepishly look away, chuckling.
âAh well⊠I donât have one. Donât have enough money to get one either.â
Yachiru stares at you, bewildered. "Huuuh? You look pretty young. Can't you just stay with your family."
Gulping at the mention of family, your gaze drifts onto your lap as you sigh. A moment of realisation crosses the lieutenant's face.
"Hey... Aren't you... Yoruichi's sis?"
You could feel your shoulders slump, and as you began to respond, you were quickly cut off by Yachiru grabbing your hand and dragging you away with her.
âThere you are! Captain Unohana has been looking for you everywhere. Come!â
As you let the small lieutenant lead you to the Fourth Division headquarters, you couldnât help but admire the small adornments around the division. Lights decorated beautifully with lanterns for the coming of the new year. For the time being, you were placed somewhere low in the Fourth Division, but you were just an average reaper in training. You had never even properly met Captain Unohana.Â
In the Captains head office, neatly stacked papers greet you, as well as Captain Unohana, Captain Shunsui and Captain Ukitake.
âWelcome, Y/N. Or I should say, Miss Shihoin.â
You gulped the lump in your throat in fear, afraid of what was to occur. Were you going to be banished from the Gotei 13? Did they find out about what had happened? But how⊠You had eradicated your last name when applying to be a Soul Reaper.
Yachiru sat herself on the dark oak desk ahead, happily finishing her food as she looked at Unohana.Â
âHey! I brought her to you. And she even offered me food.â
Ukitake passed her a bag of sweets before she giddily fleed, bidding farewell as she exited out the door. As the shoji door slid shut, all eyes returned to you. You awkwardly bow, before looking down at the floor in respect.
âSo⊠Y/N. I have heard of your circumstances.â
You hung your head low, afraid of what was to come. Underneath the warm hearted appearance, somehow you could sense something unnerving underneath as Unohana approached you. She brought a hand up, and you expected the worst, closing your eyes and accepting whatever discipline was to come.
Soft fingers carefully caressed your tresses, gently rubbing your head.Â
"How long have you been living without a home?"
You looked up at her, your confusion augmenting.
âUh⊠Six months now.â
Unohana's dark eyes rest as she smiles wearily, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
âRoyal families⊠Are something incomprehensible. They operate on a much different plane. I don't want you to lose your potential because of matters like this, Y/N. Iâll give you a home.â
Nodding in respect and appreciation, you bow once more.
âJust donât lose sight of who you really are. Because I know you can flourish into something beautiful.â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
You hum as you carefully slide your pen across your page, scribbling out the recipitent of your letter, Zaraki Kenpachi, alongside many other arrays of words. Signing off your name with a flick , you lean back in your seat and take a sip from the ceramic cup you held in your hands. As you drift your eyes from your letter to the kitchen, you notice a certain individual shuffling around and making noise.
You slam your cup of chamomile tea down onto your desk, pushing your chair out from behind you as you stand up to look at him.
"Mr. Aizen. What are you doing."
You look down to see luscious, chestnut locks shift in their place as Aizen turns to look at you walking towards him. His mahogany irises and soft tresses glimmer in the office light of the kitchen as he maintains fervent eye contact with you, looking you up and down . You suddenly feel somewhat insecure, afraid your dark plaid office skirt or white button up were discombobulated and bothering his vision. His slow gaze up your body to your eyes almost sent shivers of fear or butterflies down your spine, which one it was, you couldn't tell.Â
"The tea you have here disgraces my tongue. I've placed it on the office order list to pick some of the finer brew's from the Soul Society."
You raise an eyebrow, scoffing at his petulant demand. âThis is an office, not your playground. You may not displace and replace my items as you please.â
Sosuke simply grins at your remark, toying with the silver fountain pen placed in his grip before tapping it on his lip.
âIâm sure your tongue misses the feeling of it fresh from the Rukongai. The preservatives here are⊠Nothing but obscene.â
You sigh, unable to disagree as you desperately yearn for the taste of traditional brew pleasantly tainting your tongue.
As Aizenâs sharp features focus on gracefully sliding the nib of the pen across the paper, you find your tongue yearning for the taste of something completely different. You could only swallow, entranced as you watch him tenderly run his tongue across his lips.Â
âArenât you being selfish?â You frown, crossing your arms as you dismiss whatever desirable aura emitting from him was hypnotising you.Â
Sosuke glances at you with a quick side eye, raising an unamused eyebrow.
âIâve already written your precious jasmine tea down.â
Your eyes slightly widen in bewilderment as rhapsodies of joy pulsate throughout your whole being. Forcing your smile to dissipate, your eyes simmer down to a suspicious glare.Â
âAnd what about-â
âThe others were jubilated at the mention of trying out authentic Shinigami tea.â A fervent glare met your own as Aizen provided a clear answer to all of your rebuttals.
âStop worrying. Itâs only bothering the both of us.â
As he walked off, you could only watch with your jaw hung slightly, trapped in your many queries.
Is he toying with me?
He's definitely toying with me.
Heaving out a large puff of air, you exasperatedly sat back down onto your desk and began to scribble signatures onto a large pile of papers. Caught up in your thoughts and muttering under your breath, you didnât realise a timid tap on your shoulder as you aggressively signed the renewal of the lease to the property.
âUh, Miss Shihoin⊠Is everything alright?â
Karinâs sheepish grin greets you as you crane your neck to question your intern.
 âYes⊠Why?â
Her pointer finger leads your eyes to a blot of ink staining the lease paper, and your heart almost leaps out of your chest as your face fills with dread.
âOh godâŠâ Stumbling around in an unorganised manner, you desperately try to find a spare tissue before Karin places one in your grip from her own set of pocket tissues.Â
âApologies for the⊠unpleasant show. What was it that you needed?â
The inquisitive girl stared at you dubiously, her suspicion augmenting.Â
âMiss Shihoin, youâve been acting kind of... off lately,â Karin says, tilting her head. âYou seem quite tense.â
You sigh, sitting back down and rubbing your temples. "It's nothing. Just a lot of work and... some other things on my mind." Karin narrows her eyes in response, clearly unconvinced. Her suspicious glance draws a reluctant chuckle from you.    Â
"I'm fine. Can you please go deliver this letter to Shuuhei and ask him to Reishify it and bring it with him to the 11th Division when he returns to the Seireitei?"Â
The intern takes a deep breath, taking the letter before looking around cautiously and then placing her eyes back on you.
âLook, when I'm upset, I do this thing where I vent into my draft emails. I write down everything I'm upset about. Then I just save it and never send it. I don't know about you Miss, but I find it quite therapeutic."
You raise a suspicious eyebrow. âDraft emails?â
"It helps me gather my thoughts and keeps me from snapping at people. Like my brother. Maybe it could work for you too."
You glance at Karin, her expression earnest despite her casual demeanor. The idea sounds absurd at first, but as you consider it, you canât deny the appeal of getting your frustrations out without consequences.
âAlright,â you mutter, opening your email client. âIâll give it a try.â
Karin grins, clearly pleased with herself. âI'm glad you're giving it a go.â The raven haired girl promptly leaves, humming to herself in glee.
You canât help but laugh as you start typing, feeling a surprising sense of relief with every word that flows onto the screen.
You end up spending your whole lunch break furiously typing draft emails, venting all your emotion out. Karin's suggestion was one of the best things bestowed to you in your difficult life lately, you really felt like you could get some of your pent up feelings out in an orderly manner, with no consequence.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
A mundane day the rest was, your communication with Aizen mitigating as moments passed and your busy schedules refused to connect. Maybe that was for the best. Though, you certainly didn't appreciate the gnarly glares the man shot you from a distance. What he wanted, your heart would never know.Â
Entering the lift with him had become routine now, as both of you finished later than the others. Boring small talk, awkward hums⊠It was almost insufferable.Â
Today Aizen broke the silence, crossing his arms.Â
"You took quite the long lunch break today."
You scrunch up your nose, crossing your arms to mimic his actions. Of course, it had to be a jab at you.Â
âI make up for it with my work.â
âIâm sure you do. What were you doing?â
âNone of your business.â
Raising an unamused eyebrow, Sosuke simply scoffs at you before looking away.
âYouâve certainly gotten slack in the office. I do wonder who the poor recipient of your furious typing was.â
Before you could gruffly respond, the lift doors opened to the most unpleasant sight you could ever dream of.Â
Your jaw drops in disgust, it felt as if ten panes of glass had just been smashed on your head. You wish on every one of your lucky stars that you were only seeing things, and that the sight beheld in front of you was not real. You look up to see Aizen's reaction, indifferent as always.
âHeya, doll.â
Hirako Shinji lay in front of you, a loosely buttoned up ivory shirt and beige pants, his hand adorned with several silver rings holding a bouquet of cheap roses⊠You did not like cheap roses. Something you had tried to teach him, many times. You were a woman with standards.
One who should be treated like she was the most exquisite star in a museum of planets.
Watching his blonde bob bounce as he took a step forward only served to piss you off to oblivion even more.
A small smirk taints Aizenâs lips, a benign chuckle emitting from his lips.Â
âAh, I see.â
Before you could explain, the man had already walked off. Your patience was about to snap into several pieces and spill all over the floor. As the blonde approaches you, you storm up to him first and grab his collar.
âWhat do you think you're doing?!â
Shinji scoffs, pouting at you disheartenedly. âWhat does it look like? Iâm tryna make you mine again, doll.â He tenderly attempts to hold your arms, but you were quick to sharply whack his arm away.
You smack your face with your palm, sighing. âWhat gave you the idea that I wanted to be with you again, Hirako!?â
Shinji rolls his eyes, thinking of how you could be so oblivious to your apparent⊠Ubiquitous love, with him.
âI could tell after that phone call... Why are you so worked up?-â
A moment of realisation crosses his face as he watches your eyes dart for a second to Aizen in the distance, reading his expensive silver watch and waiting for his car to arrive. Shinji sighs, laughing a little.Â
âOhh.. Yerâ a sick woman.â He snickers softly, shaking his head as he tuts at you.
âYouâre a sick man!â You rebuke, appalled at his narcissism.
âOh, Iâm the sick man. What about yer man over there?â
âHe is not 'my man'.â
You both glare at each other, electricity almost jolting out of the vexation heating between you two.
"Are you insane? Come on, you can't tell me you're interested in that dick. And not me. Ya know, you've been on my mind a lot. And I know I have too, with that call and the partyâŠâ
âOh, god⊠Please fuck off.â
Hirako raises an eyebrow at your sudden expletives, almost humoured.
âYou canât give us a chance?â
âI would rather be with that dick over you.â
You couldnât believe the words that had escaped your mouth and neither could Hirako apparently with his gobsmacked expression, as you quickly strutted off to Rangikuâs car arriving in the distance. You swallow the lump in your throat, somehow sentimental memories had decided to come out at the sight of Shinji again. Yet you couldnât let the past latch onto you any longer. You had put so much effort into moving on from his previous wooing and love bombing.
Shinji Hirako and you had a rocky relationship, filled with constant arguing and jealousy from his side. Once he had heard who your first love was, it was like a constant jab in your side. Always mentioned in arguments, always used against you. It always ended up in you apologising, letting the man walk all over you because of a stupid mistake you had made to like someone in your past. Not to mention the consistent snide comments, and narcissism.
The constant threats to leave you had eventually gotten to you, and one day you had let him do it instead of begging for him back, after something he had said about you.
âYouâre a crazy woman. No wonder you were kicked out of your own home, youâre insufferable!â
â... Iâm leaving.â
âWhat? No⊠Baby, you know I didnât mean that⊠Iâm sorry⊠Please donât-â
Matsumoto watches you rest your head against the window, a soft tear running down your cheek. Just as she was about to query your dampened mood, you shush her with a finger and pat her head, resting your head back into the seat.Â
Without asking any questions, she drove off and you started your traverse back home in silence.Â
âŠ
âThat dick, huh?â
Simpering, he breathlessly laughed as he adjusted the silver watch adorning his wrist.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
âI think you need to take a day off work.â
You glare at Rangiku almost incredulously, you knew you couldn't do that.
âWhat? With what reason.â
Picking at the tofu in her miso soup at the low table you were seated at, Matsumoto sighs and leans forward, resting her chin on her palm as she gives you a knowing look. "I can see that you're about two seconds away from losing it. Aizen's uh, kerfuffles⊠Shinji showing up with roses, you're bound to snap girl. And honestly, it'd be entertaining, but it's not exactly professional. And I care about you too much to let that happen."
You groan, running a hand through your hair. âI canât just take a day off⊠Shunsuiâs a different story, but Aizen would-â
"Let you." Rangiku interrupts with a sly grin. "Y/N. From what I've heard from you, he practically makes up excuses to hover around you. I think he'll even suggest that you stay home if you just look a little more ghastly tomorrow.â
You scrunch up your nose at Matsumoto. The mere thought of Aizen doing something so considerate makes your stomach twist.
âHe wouldnât care. Heâs already swamped with work right now⊠Heâs insufferable with me and sharing the load currently.â
Rangiku snickers. "Insufferable, huh⊠With your life, it seems like you've got yourself a shoujo novel going on."
"Shoujo novel? Furthest from, actually. Shinji's just some touch starved loser and Aizen isâŠ"
â...Is?â she presses, her grin widening.
You hesitate, the words catching in your throat.
A thorn in your side?
⊠Or the man who had somehow paved his way painfully into your thoughts more than you cared to admit?
"Complicated," you mutter finally, averting your gaze.
Rangiku hums, clearly delighted by your vague answer.Â
"Complicated. Sure. Let's go with that. But hey, if Shinji is getting jealous, maybe someone else is too..."
You scoff. "Don't be ridiculous."
"Mm, I don't know," she teases, scooping up her soup. "I don't know him as well as you do , but sometimes the quiet ones are the most dangerous."
You roll your eyes, trying to dismiss her words, but they linger in your mind after the conversation ends.
âFine, if youâre not taking a day off, at least come to the department drinking party next Friday. Please. I need someone to unwind with me.â
You roll your eyes. âRangiku, you turn into a circus at those events. I really am not in the mood to be your caretaker.â
âWellâŠâ she mumbles, taking a bite out of the tofu in her chopsticks. âThatâs the point. Get drunk and let loose⊠Trust me, youâll stop looking like youâre carrying the weight of the Soul Society on your shoulders.â
âI donât think alcohol is the solution to my problems.â you mutter, poking at your tofu in a similar manner as she was before.
Rangiku scoffs, brushing her hair over her shoulder dramatically. âYou can use alcohol to escape that enigma, and he probably won't show up⊠Maybe.âÂ
Her tone drips with implication, and you narrow your eyes at her. "What's that supposed to mean?"
âOh, nothing,â she replies, a grin spreading across her face. âJust that certain people have been known to make an appearance when they think theyâre not expected to.â
You groan, knowing exactly what she's hinting at. âIf you're trying to push some ridiculous agenda about Aizen coming, then drop it. Because I'm certain he wouldn't go to a petulant event such as that⊠At least I hope, there's no way he could-"
"-Be interested in you?" Rangiku interrupts, grinning even wider now. "Watching you two interact in the few times I have, feels like viewing a really tense chess match, but instead of pawns, you're throwing thinly veiled insults and lingering stares at each other.â
You flush, stabbing at your tofu with unnecessary force. âHe's simply infuriating, end of story. And stop cutting me off like thatâŠâ
"Infuriatingly handsome, maybe," she quips, laughing when you throw a napkin at her.
"Okay fine," you grumble, giving in just to shush her. "I'll go. But if it turns into another one of those nights where you try to set me up with some random guy, I'm leaving."
"It's not, I swear." Rangiku says with a wink. "It will be... Mostly civilised. The interns will be coming, but some are underage, so they'll be in another room."
"You know, I don't get why you're so forgiving to him." You suddenly state, slurping up the last of your soup in the bowl.
â... Iâm not, really⊠But I can identify whatâs best for me and other Shinigamiâs. If I just focused on the past, how would I be able to focus on and protect what I love in the present.â
A glance to the frame of Gin sent a pang of pain through your heart.
âAnd it was that idiot's idea to do something so dangerous and brutal and then yield the consequencesâŠâ
You nod in agreeance, seeing what she was getting at. Patting her shoulder, you ask about her day.
âAnyways, enough about that. How was your day?â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
As you two laugh and share moments of joy together, you couldn't help but feel a mix of apprehension and curiosity as you consider her words from before. Maybe she's exaggerating, but then again, with him, nothing ever feels entirely straightforward.
What's the worst that could happen? You laugh to yourself, almost bitterly. With your luck, you'd probably regret ever showing up.
And yet, you knew youâd be there anyway.

Temporary Whispers Of The Heart âčââĄâ | Sosuke Aizen X Reader
Chapter 7 | Use Your Heart
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Fuchsia petals twirled and twisted in the breeze of spring, detaching from the sakura trees that lay outside the Karakura district office. A delightful marker of spring, or for the working, a more⊠unfavourable signal to begin the working year.
The elevator door chimes gleefully, hardly serving to uplift your fallen spirits as your heels slam against the floors of the hallway to the office. Your hand clasps around the office doorâs handle, swinging it with force towards you as you proceed to barge in.
Who does she think she is? Claiming sheâs your sister after so long. Sure, she might be wanting to fix things with you, but she's failing. Miserably. So hard that her good for nothing boyfriend has to step in and-
Caught up in your thoughts, you abruptly bump into a firm surface, wincing as a manâs chest clothed with fashion at prices you could only dream of greets your nose. Immediately reaching to cover your squashed nose, your eyes trail up to meet the stare of a stern yet charmed brunette.
âI see someoneâs quite thrilled to see me.â Sosuke gives an amused smirk, and you give an unamused frown in return.
âDonât humour me-â
You suddenly perceive the cut on his neck left by that night beginning to bleed once more, your eyebrows creasing in worry. The silver star hair clip you had on must have scraped against his neck when you bumped into himâŠ
âIt is only a scratch, you can halt your perturbed gaze. I wonât die.â A hint of softness flashes across Aizenâs usual stoic gaze, almost mocking to your worried demeanour. You scrunch up your nose in response to his assumption of your concern, scowling.
âI donât care whether you live or die. You canât walk around the office with that. The new interns are arriving today. I had hoped you held some sort of shame and would have tried to not look like a monsterâŠâ
âAh, but that is where you fail⊠And even if I wished to cover my terrifying gash that you presume will petrify the new interns, I cannot.â Almost humorously, Aizen lifts his cuffed wrists, giving them a slight shake to enunciate their jingles while grinning at you, like a child giddily bringing a dead bird to his mother in pride. You scoff, shaking your head in amusement and bewilderment.Â
âChained up again? My poor birdy. Did Icarus fly too close to the sun again?â You snicker, slightly groaning while meticulously observing the bleeding gash on his neck with your index. Considering his tightly bounded wrists, it was your responsibility to clean this up. You already had to host a special threat in the office to farm his spiritual energy, if that didnât scare away the new employeeâs, his bloodthirsty appearance definitely would.
âI prefer to compare myself to Lucifer, actually. A fallen angel. Considering my beauty and brawn, wouldnât you agree?â
Rolling your eyes, you take his wrist and lead him to the office kitchen, his obedience and silence surprising you. A benign chuckle simply emitted from his slightly parted grin as you moistened your handkerchief under the sink.Â
âWhere did this gash come from, anyway?â You grumble as you tenderly caress the enigmaâs adams apple with a damp cloth, dabbing the blood trickled unto his pale neck.Â
âItâs of no importance. Worry about yourself.â Aizen responds by tucking a strand of loose hair from your neat bun behind your ear intimately, and you swat it away immediately.
âI donât worry about you. Iâm simply irritated at this unfortunate turn of events and the fact I have to mother you. Can you really not do this yourself?â
âDoes it look like I can? Youâre less smarter than you look, Miss Y/N.â Aizen raises a hazel eyebrow, his leer unentertained.Â
âDonât call me by my first name.â
âWhy? Does it make you hot and bothered?â
âOh absolutely, my panties immediately soaked at just the sound of your voice. A man of nothing but filth just called me by my common name. Is that what you want to hear?â
Aizen laughs contentedly in response, his head lightly rolling forward causing his cocoa locks to fall gracefully around his face, chuckling at your snappy attitude while his gaze transfixes on you. You could feel his hazel eyes burning through your face as you clean up his gash and search for a bandaid in the kitchen drawers. As you fail to find one, in desperation, you decide to fish around your own pockets for one, exhaling in relief as you feel one brush against your fingers.Â
Sosukeâs eyebrow hooks upward, a complacent yet stunned look on his face as he discerns the bandaid you had decided to force onto him. You too, stare at the medical aid held between your fingers in disbelief, sighing sharply. No choice, I guess.
Aizen lets out a gruff exhale as you softly spread the baby pink hello kitty bandaid on his throat, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he swallows in humiliation.
âMay I be bold to suggest that your sense of style is too⊠cute for an office setting?âÂ
âI donât have anything else. Itâs my last resort.â You huff, looking into his eyes despondently.Â
âAlright then. I will appreciate your thoughtful gift.â Â
You purse your lips and feel a slight tinge of heat on your face as you watch his lips curve into a mischievous grin. A grin of satisfaction too, as you could tell he knew how your heart fluttered at his sight and decided to torture you with it.
As you two lost your sanity locked in each other's eyes, the line drawing hate and love blurring further, a knock at the door snapped you both out of your daze. Slamming your handkerchief against his chest, you strut off before he could notice your blush and tease you further. Yet the feeling of a fervent gaze stabbing into your backside did not disappear as you left him alone in the kitchen.Â
âAct as normal as you can, please.â
Another three melodious knocks done with rhythm on the door signalled the arrival of your General Commander, alongside the chatter of many new and jubilated employees. You smoothed out your black pencil skirt and the slight creases on your ironed white button up, your thin and tight, knitted dark grey sweater showing off your form in a sleek and stylish way.Â
Shunsui gives a slight smile after you slide open the door, a strand of dark curled hair resting gracefully on his face as he gives you an approving nod.
âGood morning, Miss Y/N. I take it that I can entrust these in your care now?â
You nod adamantly, grinning and displaying the most exultant form of yourself that you could manage at 9 in the morning.Â
âOf course, please follow me.â Your cheerful voice reverberates throughout the building, as you notice a couple familiar faces present in the new intern intake. Karin, Ururu, Jinta⊠Most were high school students looking for work experience for a few weeks or Academy students looking for work in the human world. Regardless, you put on the most professional attitude you could whilst also ensuring they felt welcome and accepted.Â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
As you guide the interns through the office, assigning their duties and detailing where to find everything and who to look for help, you discern Sosuke leave his office. Most interns froze in bewilderment, albeit they had been informed of your humble guest, it must still be jarring to witness his existence in person.
âIf you require help, my office is located at the back left. Ah, and this is⊠Sosuke Aizen. He is serving his sentence here as the Muken has been damaged so we can farm his spiritual energy. Donât⊠worry about him. He is tightly bound and knows not to do any harm.âÂ
You flash the most exuberant and reassuring smile you can as you walk up to the smug brunette, taking his hands in yours and holding them up to jingle his tightly bound wrists in a similar fashion to how he did before to assure your new interns.
âGood morning.â Aizen gives a cunning yet honeyed smile at the new students, amusedly watching a tinge of heat rush to your cheeks. His gentle morning voice you could never get sick of, no matter how hard you begged your mind to loathe it. Swallowing and nodding anxiously, the interns return collegiate nods before being promptly dismissed by you to begin their new assignments.Â
âI feel like a pet.â He abruptly states, grousing as he returns the same fervent stares back to the students eyeing him.
âThanks for being⊠Somewhat normal.â You scoff at him, looking up to see his eyes already locked on you through the strand of cocoa hair splayed on his face.Â
âWhy? Do you find me abnormal? Unique, even?â Sosuke jests, grinning deviously as he crossed his arms over his chest and over the expensive, dark navy blue blazer and white button up he had on.
âNo, I find you fake. Every interaction we have ever had was fake.â You rebut, dragging your eyes away from admiring his sharp and sleek jawline crossed with his sepia locks stylishly slicked back. He unfortunately looked like a Hollywood star even with all those seals bound to him and his murderous eyepatch enunciating his monster-like appearance.
âAnd who told you that?âÂ
âQuite literally everything you do. You only care about yourself.â You tsk, rolling your eyes slightly as you turn away. âSelf proclaimed God.â
âIsnât it simplistic to assert that a God cannot care? If anything, compassion is the mere foundation of becoming one. The purity of being able to love and nurture.â He states back, ignited blood reigning his veins as he gazes at you.
âYou really assume I havenât loved and cared before?â
Perplexed by his metaphors, you shake your head and dismiss him with a wave of your hand.
âLet's not get into it.âÂ
Ë âŠ â§âË â
As you lean against the wall of your office, eyeing Aizen like a hawk attempting to pour himself a cup of tea in the kitchen outside, a buzz arising from his soul pager in his office goes off. You swiftly turn to grab the phone off of his oak desk, staring at the message in your grip.
EMERGENCY
STABILISE THREAT WITH REIATSU: TAKESHITA RD. 108 092
NOVICE REAPERS INJURED: 4
YOU ARE THE CLOSEST IN THE AREA
GO ALONE
DO NOT TRY ANYTHING ELSE OR SERIOUS PERSECUTION WILL FOLLOW
You look to your own soul pager, only to find that you had not been given the same message. What
Even after refreshing the screen, you hadnât received it. You had only been given a measly message, instructing you to take care of the interns queries in the office whilst he was gone. Thereâs no way theyâre trusting HIM to take this job alone. Without me. You couldnât trust him to do this. Forget you, how could anyone trust him to do this job? How could the Shinigamis at the accident site trust him? They would surely attack him in fear. And you wouldnât blame them.
Perhaps this message was given to the wrong device. Even if all they required was spiritual pressure to immobilise the threat before help arrived⊠You wouldnât have minded draining yours. If it meant for that thing to not induce any potential harm. Whatever it was, you knew in your heart to not let him, a special threat, venture out alone into the night freely. Regardless of all of his new seals.
âIâll be back, I have to handle something⊠Take care of the office while Iâm gone.â
Aizen gives you an unamused look, nodding and simply humming in response before returning to toss an empty sugar sachet in the bin.
Snatching your leather coat off of a hanger by the door and your Zanpakuto, you leave your Gigai and emerge as a new woman, draped in your signature shihakusho.Â
Staring at the buzzing screen, you perceive that this emergency was gathering some attention as more Shinigamiâs were falling suit to whatever hollow they were facing. You promptly unsheathe your Zanpakuto, utilising flash step to arrive at your destination faster.Â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
The gaze of the evening stars greets you as you perceive the eerily deserted street, a couple Soul Reapers lying on the ground, injured. A figureâs chains dragged disturbingly across the asphalt of the empty avenue, before its molten eyes fixate on you.Â
Covered by the shadow of the night, you could not discern what sort of hollow the enemy was nor the origins of it. The only characteristic you register is the daunting black marks stained on its back and face.
A creature from Hell.
Your eyes widen and you immediately brought forth your Zanpakuto, its blade glimmering against the moonlight. With a precise flick of your blade, a crescent of reiatsu slices through the air, aimed at its behind facing you. The hollow promptly blocks you with a raise of its arm, the force pushing it back yet leaving it hardly scathed. You decide to stop holding back, releasing your spiritual pressure tenfold as you wait for others to handle the situation. Your mission wasnât to overexert yourself yet, the nature of the monster sent familiar chills down your spine.
It retaliates, chains snapping forward like vipers hunting for desperate prey. You twist your body, narrowly avoiding the snakes as one whips past your face, slicing through the fabric of your sleeve. You begin to slightly heave, your slowly depleting spiritual pressure and physical exertion starting to toll on your body. For a second, you shut your eyes to focus on suppressing the monster ahead of you.
The hollow snarls and takes the chance to attempt to latch onto your Zanpakuto with its chain. You barely register the movement when a sudden sword greets the chain as it was about to slam into your chest.
Looking to your left, your eyes broaden at the sight of Sosuke Aizen, still dressed in his office attire and defending you effortlessly even with both hands bound. In an instant, the monster retreated into the portal in which it came from as a result of Aizenâs crushing reiatsu compressing its insides.Â
âWhat do you think youâre doing?â You groan as you see him shoot daggers through his menacing leer.Â
âWhat do you think youâre doing? You just ran off? I had to track your spiritual energy to try and find you.â Sosuke glares at you, spitting venom with his words.Â
âClearly I'm doing a mission.â
The brunette rolls his eyes subtly, tsking at your incompetence. âWith my Soul Pager? Are you aware that maybe your reiatsu capabilities exceed the demands of this situation?â
âIâm a Lieutenant. Donât make me laugh.â You fire back, scoffing in amusement at his assumption of your abilities.
âThis job was forced onto me to do. Why did you take it?â
âI don't trust you? And anyways, I was not going to waste any time returning back. All you had to do was take care of the office for a little while.â You spew at him, grunting at his inability to understand your apprehension surrounding him.
âAnd what if something had happened to you? Had the thought not occurred to you that perhaps this was appointed for me and not you for a reason? You cannot exert your spiritual pressure with ease like mine without straining yourself.â He reprimands, an unfamiliar hint of concern present in his tone.
âMr. Aizen, Iâm not a little girl. I donât need you looking after me!âÂ
âY/N. Sosuke.â
You both synchronise in turning to look behind you, your heart sinking as you perceive a cross Shunsui with both his hands in either pocket of his hakama glaring at you two.
âCome with me.â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
A slight berating followed by dissatisfied grumbles ensued from Shunsui, as you stand in front of your company building while your commander chastises you in front of Aizen.Â
âI was disappointed to be informed by an intern that neither of you were anywhere to be found.â
The brunette parts his lips to speak, yet shuts them promptly and instead returns an unamused stare to the commander. Kyoraku momentarily looks towards him leaning candidly against the building, sighing. As much as he wishes to berate him, the technicality of the situation deemed him as fairly innocent.Â
âThere is a reason why he received the message and not you. If you were to stand there and suppress the hollow with your spiritual pressure, it would have drained you and taken much longer than it wouldâve for him.â
âBut why did you send him alone?â You rebuke, unwilling to accept this outcome. You would receive whatever punishment you were ordered with pride yet, you just wished for a simple explanation to who in their right mind decided to instruct him to go alone.
âIt was presumptuous of me to trust him alone, I know. But you had your duties in the office to look after the interns. You are to only stick to whatever duties are assigned to you. Do you know how difficult it was to quickly get Matsumoto to cover for you?â
You hang your head in shame, sighing as you fumble with your fingers. It was a foolish act from you, but could anybody blame you? Trusting the enigma was like walking over a vat of tar on a thin piece of string.Â
âI can't just stroll in here whenever you mess up, Y/N.â
âIâm sorry. I wonât do it again.â You state in a low voice, slightly bowing in shame to the bearded man.
Softening up, Shunsui couldnât help but walk up to you, patting your shoulder comfortingly. Over the years, he had grown to warm up to you and to think of you almost as a daughter.
âFine, you donât trust him, I understand that. Which is why Iâm letting you go this time.â
Your gaze slowly trails upwards with glistening and appreciative eyes, the tightness in your chest slightly relieving itself as you manage to drag your eyes to his neck.Â
âYou donât have to trust him, but trust me. Trust the devices I have implemented myself to weaken him.â
The raven haired man places his pointer on your chin, making your solemn gaze finally meet his.
âCan you do that for me?âÂ
You melt at his words, warming up to a father figure you had so desperately searched for your whole life treating you with such kindness. A father figure you had been robbed of so viciously and mercilessly in the past. His tenderness always healed something in your heart he had never broken.
You nod sincerely yet avidly, keen to not disappoint him again. He gives a final scruff of your hair, before leisurely strolling towards the sleek black limousine that had arrived at your building. Kyoraku chuckles before shaking his head, allowing himself to be guided by the Shinigami serving as his body guard opening the door to the vehicle.
Adjusting his hat, he gives one last remark before stepping into the expensive car.
âAh... You and Nanao. Youâre both so similar.â
As you silently watch your commander drive off, a loud and obvious clearing of someone's throat snapped you from your daze. You turn pensively to face an oddly sincere Sosuke, his sour scan of your being sending cold chills down your spine.Â
âI believe thanks are in order.â He sneers, jesting at you. You chuckle in response, defeatedly suspiring.
âThank you. And⊠Iâm sorry.â You mumble the last part, trudging past him to reach the entrance of the building. However, you were yanked slightly back by a slender hand clasping around your wrist.
âApology not accepted.â
You furrow your eyebrows at him, confused at what he was getting at. Your breath hitches in your throat at the sight of his sepia irises glimmering, reflecting the moon ever so beautifully in their wake.Â
âWhat?â
âI can tell you assume I think you are weak.â
You look away in shame, a slight tinge of bashfulness present in your demeanour. âI know you do. I constantly mess up, it can only be described as undignified and weakâŠâ
âYou arenât weak. Iâve hardly been able to witness your new power but youâve flourished into a strong woman. My words did not mean to undermine your strength. I apologise if Iâve done so.â
You raise an eyebrow to his sudden altruism, it was strange yet⊠Not unwelcome. He takes a step closer towards you, leaning his face closer to yours, causing heat to pulsate throughout your body in response.
âRemember, the soil that is rained on strengthens.â
Looking up at him with tender and shimmering doe eyes, you softly laugh as you unclasp his hand around your wrist and step away bashfully. âThank you. Someoneâs feeling nice today, huh?â
âIâm simply stating facts.â He grins, a sense of satisfaction overwhelming him as your pupils dilate jovially and a smile was brought to your face once more by his own work. You strut off, looking back endearingly at him as your hair flowed graciously in the wind.       Â
âShall we?â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
Familiar strawberry blonde locks greet you two as you both emerge from the lift to the building, Rangikuâs booming voice calling out to you from across the hallway.
âY/N! You silly girl!â Your best friend rushes up to you cheerfully, pinching your cheek teasingly as she envelops you in a loving hug.
âUgh, you donât know how much these interns were pissing me offâŠâ
You look up at her, perplexed. âReally? They seemed quite shy and sweet in the morning...â
Rangiku gives a slight wave of acknowledgement to Aizen before looping her arm in yours, facing you with crestfallen features. âOkay well, most are fine, it's just⊠Jinta and Ururu keep arguing with each other. It's truly such a bother trying to separate them. Oh, and did you see Kurosakiâs sister?â
You nod, you did notice the young Shinigamiâs sister join your branch. âYeah⊠It was a pleasure to see a familiar face after so long.â
âShe looks just like him⊠Just with black hair. It's crazy, isn't it?âÂ
Ah, and speak of the devil, as the very young and sweet girl you were chatting about had walked up to you three.
âIâve finished my assignment and colour coded every training schedule for you, Miss Shihoin.â She gleams at you, and you raise an eyebrow, impressed as you take the file in your hands and return a grateful beam.
âOh wow, really? Thanks so muchâŠâÂ
âAnd Mr⊠Aizen⊠I ordered your ⊠New Zanpakuto sheathâŠâ Karin apprehensively states, bowing slightly to Sosuke as she hands him a picture of the new sleek black leather sheath she had bought. The enigma slightly grins in amusement, a heartfelt smile was the last of what you had expected his reaction to be.
âI appreciate your efforts. And, no need to act so reserved, I wonât bite. At least, Iâll try not to.â He beams jestingly, and you slap his shoulder promptly. âShush! Donât scare her away.â
He sneers, chuckling as he slid his hands back into his pant pockets. âIâm simply humouring you, don't fret.âÂ

Ë âŠ â§âË â
Leaping into the air, you manipulated your Kido to allow your movements to stay fluid and elegant. The chill breeze of the night sky in the Human world greeted you, and you smiled feeling the wind sift through your flowy hair.
Your first lone mission as a Soul Reaper. You were jubilant, ecstatic in the moment as electricity pumped in your veins. Albeit still fairly inexperienced, you were to defeat a Hollow in the human world and bless its soul successfully. As you turn to the right, you see your companion leaping in the air, humming and grinning widely. He shot you an egotistical glance, the confidence embedded in his soul reflecting in his body language.
âSomeoneâs a bit too excited. Sure you wonât get too scared alone?â
Shuuhei nodded as he skipped over a building, laughing in response to your joke.
âIâm quite confident. I donât need my elder to worry for me~â
You rolled your eyes, scoffing at his remark. âYou better watch your tongue, young boy. I'm not even that much older than you. And who knows you wonât burst into tears again?â
âUgh, my greatest apologies for holding a sympathetic and teary soul.â Shuuhei jested, faking his sorrow as he pretended to cry and wipe tears dramatically from his face whilst whipping his head away from you.
âWhatever you say, my little memeshÄ«~*â
âDonât call me that!â
You chortled at his flustered expression, guffawing at the sight of him so bothered over a simple tease.
Glancing at your Soul Pager, you discerned the location of the two hollows from the tags on the device. Albeit a little hesitant, you shut your pager and understood that this mission had to be done and was imperative to progressing your careers as Soul Reapers.
After notifying Hisagi, you both set off on your paths to the hollows you esteemed as your targets. The large, black and purple creature in sight towered over you, muttering incoherent sentences with jumbled phonetics as its crimson eyes latched onto you. You felt confidence, strength coursing through your veins as your body was energised with courage and determination. An easy feat as a Shinigami, right? Youâve done this many times before. Although many had resulted in dire failure, you were sure you had grown strong enough to complete such a simple task.Â
The skeletal structures on the Hollowâs arms and face clunked against each other ominously as it turned towards you, each step served with purpose. Something felt off. It felt⊠Intelligent? As if a mind of its own resided in the empty crevice of its heart.
Whispering the name of your ZanpakutĆ under your breath, you brought out your Shikai and sent a smooth gash to its arm. As you ran up to the creature, you sliced all vital limbs and attempted to cut its neck. However, a blast of blue plasma from its fist abruptly sent you backwards with great force. You coughed and sputtered as you were sent flying, skidding on the concrete roads underneath you.
The surprise stained on your face was unmistakable as you watched it regenerate its limbs, gurgling under its mask.
âŠWhat on earth?
It was definitely not a normal hollow. But why would the Gotei 13 send you two to defeat such a beast? You had never encountered anything like it in the academy. Perhaps it was designed to be a struggle.
Trepidation beside you, you managed to rise back onto your feet to grip your sword properly with both hands and run towards the beast again.
Each move of your sword was met with another piece of its skeletal armour, its reflexes almost surpassing your own. After the creature blocked you several times over, another swift move of its arm knocked you out of the air and in its hand it heldâŠ
A ZanpakutĆ?
Too appalled to react, you were vulnerable and the creature took the chance to finish you off, sending you flying by another blast from its fist.
It cannot be. Hollows do not wield⊠They do not have a soul to imprint on an Asauchi..
Clutching your bleeding side, your glare was ravenous. No. You werenât sure what mutation this was, but it would not reign defeat over you. You couldnât humiliate yourself more than you already had, as the weakest member of the ShihĆin family. A tarnish on an evershining vase.Â
Determined, you snapped its limbs with your Shikaiâs suppression and electric movements. Yet once more, a grotesque bubbling in its void black skin greeted you and its limbs were regained. You had never fought a hollow of this level and power⊠And the sword that you swore it held in its hand had not been erased from your memory.
The finishing blow greeted you as you had accidentally paused your sword for one second to catch your breath, a blast searing through half your being. You felt a sharp burn in your left ribs and warm, sticky liquid beginning to pool down your legs from your side. The blast caused your knees to wobble and you immediately fell to your knees, panting sporadically.
You couldnât have lost such a simple mission⊠There was something wrong with this creature.
Mustering up all of your strength, you mumbled a final command under your breath, manipulating your KidĆ to blast the beast with as much power as you could.Â
Exhausted, you finally fell to the ground, toppling over and splayed out. You sighed in temporary relief, as the beast seemed to have been placated by you. Clutching your bleeding side, you coughed up viscous and crimson liquid from your burning throat. The hollow seemed to have been defeated, now all that was left to exorcise its soul. Opening your eyes slightly, you watched the hollow reduce into a smaller form, furrowing your eyebrows as it seemed like a controlled action, externally done on purpose... To make it weaker? A foolish thought really, wouldnât the creature want to become strongerâŠ?
In the corner of your eye, you swore you saw a glimpse of a man draped in black, extracting something of the hollow and suppressing it.
However, shock was short lived as impending doom suddenly overcame you at the sight of the Hollow standing up again, albeit smaller.
No⊠How did you not defeat it? You put every single fibre of your being into that battle?
Were you still so weakâŠ?Â
You shut your eyes, admitting defeat and disappointment as you awaited its final blast. You failed.
Long, black blades chained to their owner danced swiftly in the night sky, the moon illuminating their silhouette against the dark of the midnight.
A celestial glow accompanied Shuuhei as he elegantly sliced the Hollowâs head clean off, panting and bent over as its skeletal head slowly glided across its hemorrhaged neck, falling to the floor.Â
âYour Reiatsu⊠You scared me. Are you okay?â
Hisagi ran up to you, kneeling down next to you as he aided you in clutching your side.Â
âItâs⊠Not a hollow. It canât be. It had ⊠A ZanpakutĆâŠâ
You panicked seeing Shuuheiâs face of worry, clearly showing that he did not believe you.
âYou tried your best, itâs okay⊠You're clearly in critical condition and not thinking right.â
Blood only sputtered out as you attempted to speak, coughing and sniffling.
âPlease⊠Believe me.â
He nodded, and although sceptical, Hisagi would never question you.
âWe can worry about that later. Letâs head back quickly.â
Short, scruffed hair swayed in the wind, weaving a melody with its inky strands in the moisture of the night sky. The man beside you prayed for the hollow exorcised by his ZanpakutĆ, blessing its soul.
You turned to your companion, Hisagi Shuuhei, as he opened the gate to the Soul Society swiftly by effortlessly swaying his hands to open the Senkaimon.Â
An arm extended around your shoulders, and you reciprocated by clutching onto the tattered fabric of your friend, the other hand moving to press onto the gash on your side.Â
Dusting yourself off, you trudged once more into the Soul society and looked solemnly towards your comrade.
âHisagi, your efforts are truly unwavered even as just a novice reaper⊠I admire you.â
The raven haired man turned to you, scoffing and tucking his arms into his chest.Â
âThe same goes to you. Couldnât have done it without my fellow Shishi. You did well weakening it.âÂ
You chuckled, shaking your head from side to side, the brief mirth erupted in your chest quickly dissipating as you realised what was to come.Â
âI donât know how I couldnât defeat a simple hollow⊠You have to believe me when I say that I really donât think it was normal. It wielded a sword.â
Shuuhei hushed you, telling you to rest as he helped carry you to the 4th Division for healing.
âI believe you. I do. Iâm sure thereâs some rational explanation.â
Hisagi could feel the fear course throughout you, a sinister feeling of dread sinking in your stomach as you feared what was to come.
Ë âŠ â§âË â
You managed to muster out a grateful smile to Shuuhei before he left you in Unohanaâs care, and you shut your eyes, allowing yourself to recover.
Another shameful slash onto your royal name. An esteemed failure, you were. Had you really failed in such a pitiful battle against a weak Hollow again? Were you even worthy of the ShihĆin name? The name of warriors, the ultimate marker of strength and courage in the Soul Society.
Something you were clearly not. The ZanpakutĆ wielded in your grip betrayed you once more, as you failed at another battle against a Hollow. Removal from the Gotei 13? Admonishment of your role? You werenât sure what was to come. Yet all of this seemed minor in your thoughts as compared to the rumination of what your father may say.Â
Hisagi Shuuhei you had met in the Academy, a friend a couple years younger than you. Another stain to your name, having to be saved by a Shinigami younger than you. You should have the experience, yet the sword you held did not wish to align with your rhythm.Â
What did it want from you?
Alone in your bedroom now, you stared up at the ceiling, before turning to painfully look at the sheathed sword lying by your bedside.Â
Often at night as well as now, you found yourself speaking to the essence of your soul reflected in the sleek metal, glistening as it bathed in the moonlight seeping into your room.Â
,, Tell me, my ZanpakutĆ. Is the vigour in my soul not enough for you? Does the human blood in my heart seethe you? Answer me⊠For I have seen many mixed Shinigami blossom⊠Why not me? Why has the name of my family not blessed me like it has to my sister?âÂ
,, What must I do, to imprint the essence of my honour and devotion onto you, my sword? What lacks in my soul⊠What tarnishes my strength⊠Tell me and I will extract it from my veins.â
Ë âŠ â§âË â
The next morning, you were sent for a day of rest, informed to return to the Second division after your break to discuss the results of your first exam.Â
As your mind ruminated on your walk home, you mentally and physically prepared yourself for the berating and degrading words awaiting you.Â
Holding a hand to your heart and whispering your mothers name under your breath, you exhaled deeply and reached your destination. You latched your fingers onto the metal handle and slammed it twice against the Hinoki cypress wood to signify your arrival at the towering doors of the ShihĆin minka.*
A familiar servant greeted you, yet the usual smile present on her face had faded. As expected after that deplorable presentationâŠÂ
Leading you to the common room, you bid a solemn farewell as jovially as you could before you slid open the shoji door in front of you, meticulously as if to not set off your fathers temper any more.Â
In the middle of the empty room, a man with a lean frame and tanned skin sat cross legged, simply swiping his calligraphy brush with strategic and conscientious strokes. A murderous glance greeted you from the tresses of his ivory hair.
You silently kneeled on the tatami of the large room, your irises fixated on the low, wooden table frame and the colour of the ivory hadagi* that contrasted against his tan skin. The glare of your father sent shivers down your spine, as you swallowed the lump forming in your throat and forced it to dissipate.
âByakuya Kuchiki has established his will to marry a commoner and tarnish the purity of his noble bloodline. Itâs a very shameful act and it caused great disgrace to the Kuchiki family, I'm sure youâve heard.â
Your eyes simply fixated on the tatami floor beneath you, nodding cautiously as your knuckles turned white from clutching the pant legs of your shihakushĆ harshly.
âHave you heard of the Shiba clanâs esteemed son relinquishing his role as a Captain and his Shinigami powers to settle with a Quincy?â
You gulped, afraid of what your father was getting at as you shook your head.
âIt was such a dishonour that the Shiba clan has been removed permanently as one of the Five Noble Families. Such disgrace on such a distinguished name.â
The only sounds that could be heard were the gradually vicious strokes that Chika ShihĆin slashed onto his page, his brush staining the paper so harshly as if he was shedding the blood of his enemies.
He timed each stroke with the rhythm of his words, his movements so fierce they could have cut through the paper if it were not for his impeccable craftsmanship.
âAll of these⊠Stains, slashes, stabs to royal blood. Look how bad they have gotten. We do not even have five noble clans any more due to the incompetency of this youthâŠ
And you.â
Your eyes did not dare to falter from his glare as the pain from his words seared through your heart.
âMy biggest mistake. The illegitimate child of my late wife. You are incapable of being a Soul Reaper and an embarrassment to this family. It is already difficult enough trying to shield your human blood. You have definitely done it this time. What an utter disgrace. A simple hollow is incapable of defeat by your handsâŠâ
âThe route the youth of this generation are weaving will yield devastating results. I will not contribute to this any longer. As of now, I only have one daughter.â
Your body immobilised, before the adrenaline and shock finally slammed against your body and you pushed on your shins to rise and stand up for yourself.
âFather, it was but a simple mistake! You donât understand⊠Please. It had the appearance of a low grade hollow yet its power was unmistakable-â
âYou were saved by a classmate years younger than you. You should have been the one to save him. I have trained you conscientiously and exhaustively in the academy and allowed your Shinigami side to bloom and yet you are still such a disappointment. The impurity of your human blood is embedded permanently onto your sword, Y/N. I cannot allow the epitome of weakness to hold the name of a bloodline of indestructible men.â
âFather, I swear if you had met the hollow you would have known, for it wielded a ZanpakutĆ-â
âAre you making a fool out of me? I refuse to speak to this disgrace anymore. Yoruichi, my one sensible and virtuous daughter. Send her out. Iâm sure you understand my will. A sutra in a horse's ear*, it was to try and raise herâŠâÂ
You looked frantically at your sister behind you, the model of your life leaning on the doorframe you entered from. Her golden irises did not caress yours with a gaze of softness, instead replaced by complacency and dissatisfaction. A strike of lightning so wretched it could have been aimed towards your soul by Zeus' spear himself penetrated your being as you perceived the dullness of her eyes and sudden grip on her weapon.
You retracted your steps slowly backwards as you creaked in a small yet fearless voice.
âSister⊠Stop⊠Donât do this.âÂ
Both of your hands were snatched by hers, and you cried for freedom in desperation. Her touch was not tender, nor one of a dear sibling. It was the searing touch of a thousand suns enclosing into a supernova, exterminating the entire universe with its flames. The genesis of a newfound resentment catalysed in your heart from the display of wretched impudence towards her own sister.
âWhat are you doing?!â
You choked on your sobs as you protested against the utter agony you were being burnt alive in.
âQuiet yourself. You know that this must be done.â
âYouâre just going to kick me out without listening to a word of what even occurred?!â
Yoruichi halted her hastened steps suddenly, causing you to stumble over your feet on the tatami underneath you. She turned her gaze slowly from the shoji door lying at the exit to you, furrowing her plum brows.
âYou are an abomination to this family name and had you any intelligence you would understand you cannot be part of this family any more. We are the saviours, not the ones to be saved. You donât belong in this family.â
âWhat are you talking about?! Family isnât defined by our powers, itâs defined by the love we hold for each other!â
She snatched your wrist with a harder grip this time, latching onto you and swiftly heaving you out of the door, causing you to topple over onto the wooden steps outside of the ShihĆin minka*.Â
âLove is not enough to hold a Noble family together. If that had been true, then the Shiba clan would not have been admonished from their role and Byakuya Kuchiki would not be repenting to his parents every single day for bequeathing himself to a commoner.â
You could taste the salt in your tears as your voice grew hoarse from your insistent begs, to have her love you, to have her embrace you again. To have her forget this all as a nightmare and go back to your normal lives.
âDoes your honour matter more than your sister?!â
âY/N. I will say this once and only once.â
You looked up in trepidation, wobbling and sobbing as you were greeted with a glare of disgust rather than the sweetness you were used to.
âRid yourself of my sight before I tear the name of ShihĆin off of you with your blood.â
And with that, the wooden doors of the manor shut for the last time.

Hi, dear!â€ïž
I know a lot of talented authors writing for him. In terms of one-shots, head canons and snippets on this platform I do love the works provided by @pin-k-ink @persuasivus @brittscafe @velaenaa @my-my-my @villainsrtasty . Hopefully, I havenât forgotten anyone!
On Ao3, instead, I do find solace in long-chapters stories and there are a few I personally appreciate with my whole heart!
1. âMagpieâ by poppies_and_peridots. The status is completed and, frankly, this is my favourite one. I swear, I get tears in my eyes whenever I re-read it. It is my comfort story and it always leaves my heart filled with joy;
2. âTemporary whispers of the heartâ by @suigetsusunny (which is also present here on Tumblr). The status is on going and I absolutely love the way the story is unfolding. Awesome writing style and realistic dialogues;
3. âDesperate measuresâ by ghost_party. The status of the story is currently on hold, or this is what I assume. It is a modern au, beautifully written and capable to leave you on your toes. The characters are perfectly adapted to the human society. It left me dreaming for hours.
