Suitcase on my Floor

While in my final year of University (my areas of emphasis are cultural studies and communications) I have found my true loves in life are travel and fashion. In my final project, I will be looking at student study and travel, along with British Couture and Street Fashion. For student study and travel, I will be focusing primarily on the "why's" and "how's" in relationship to the before, the after, and the during portion of students time abroad. I am interested in how it is possible for an independent student project to be completed without getting caught up in all that is the life of studying abroad. This is how fashion ties in. I will be studying British High Fashion vs. Street Style. What is it that makes them truly British? What is the pull and pulse between contemporary British Street Fashion and its counter in Couture and their overall cultural relevance in Britain and the rest of the world? This is truly my final project and I couldn't be more excited!

Quick update!

So, while I'll be writing about Edinburgh shortly (most likely this evening), here's how the rest of my time in Europe is going to pan out. Today: Leaving for Belfast! April 2nd: Leave for Galway and the rest of Ireland! April 15th: Catching a plane in Dublin for... Rome! April 19th: Leaving Rome for Paris! April 25th: Returning to London to tie up loss ends on my project May 2nd: Sadly, return to Seattle. This is where I'll be off to in the month ahead. My project, I think, is starting to show where it's pieces are missing. More photos, drawings, and writing to come soon!
