In honor of international women's day-
If you are one of those people always commenting on posts about women's suffrage/women's rights that men are sad too and men are SA'd too etc....
Stop.
Just stop.
We know already, and the same people mentioning women's issues are likely also worried about men's issues too, the post just isn't about you. I'm sorry, I know everyone has their own struggle, but you don't need to bring it up under every post about women. Also, why do you only care about these issues when it's a way to diminish feminism...
These people constantly trying to switch posts from women back to men don't realise that behavior is exactly why we still need to talk about women's issues. People still feel the need to make every conversation about men, despite the fact society is greatly ruled by men all around the world, women are still told they are nothing without children and should "go back to the kitchen," etc.
This stays true when you do this in real conversations too. Just because someone isn't talking about men's issues right then and there does not mean they don't think they exist. Sometimes a conversation just isn't about you, and that's okay.
Maybe next time, listen to what someone's saying and actually think about the weight of those words, what they're actually talking about. Instead of immediately turning to "but men...."
Also fun fact, according to google, the only time anyone googles what day men's day is, is on international women's day. Pretty fitting ig
The context of your sentence makes it clear you have no idea what suffrage is, it's not an issue in the any developed nation.
In the US if you want women to have equal rights to men they have to lose:
All reproductive rights
The right to vote without signing up for the draft
People do talk about men's issues outside of feminist posts, but feminists frequently barge in and try to make it about themselves. For example:
This happened on an infographic detailing men's issues.
Often times the conversation is about an issue that just isn't gendered and has no reason to be discussed in such a manner. Domestic violence for example has been found to have near equal victimization rates. The majority of abusive relationships are bidirectional, in relationships with one abuser 2 to 1 it's the woman who is abusive.
Also, your little google quip is meaningless. There is a spike in searches for it because everyone makes a point of doing articles, videos, and posts about IWD, it's only natural to be curious if there is an equivalent. But it wasn't until recent years that IMD entered the public consciousness as anything more than a joke.
People are finally taking notice of it on the Nov 19th.
I want to press that my post was absolutely NOT saying anything about women OR men's suffrage in any way. I was bringing up the fact that in posts discussing women's issues, people have a tendency to bring up men as well. I can agree that this DOES happen way too much in posts about men as well, but my post was not about that. I apologize if my wording offended you, but the fact you believe women would have to give up reproductive rights to have equal rights to men is... kinda strange? I think everyone should be given reproductive rights, regardless of gender, because they should be human rights.
Also, I agree that abuse goes both ways, and thank you for providing more information. I also want to remind you that my post was not to say women are the only victims of domestic violence and other types of abuse.
If we want to do better, maybe we can come to the agreement that people should not bring up specifically gendered issues in posts that weren't about them.
Thanks for the read, though.
You still have no idea what suffrage is. Please look the word up, it's embarrassing.
My point is feminists treat issues that are not gendered, like domestic violence, as a gendered issue. It's less bringing men into the conversation and more including more than just half the victims.
The feminist message is making women's rights equal to men's. Men have no reproductive rights. To make women's reproductive rights equal to men's, yes, they have to lose theirs. I've never found a feminist that thought men should have any kind of reproductive rights because that would take control away from women.
Let me remind you, my post is not in any way discussing women or men's issues, I know what suffrage is, and I definitely did not bring up any of the things you're trying to argue with me about. Also, men do have reproductive rights, if you really cared to bring it up in any context other than to argue against my points. Thanks, bye

I DON’T CARE IF YOU HAVE ONLY ONE FOLLOWER PLEASE EVERYONE REBLOG THIS!!!
I hope no one ever asks, I don’t know if I could ever lie to someone right to their face. I also could never come up with a good enough excuse. Nobody can now, so if they ask, I will deflect, I will distract. I don’t know what to do if they don’t give it up. I really need to be careful, I can’t bring anything like that up. Nothing would excuse what I did and I cannot hide it. It’s killing me, I can’t do aanything else, my life revolves around the secrets I keep. Why can’t I just be normal? This wouldn’t be an issue if I’d just stayed home that night. A very extreme case of “wrong place, wrong time.” I can promise it isn’t something I’d usually do, but they wouldn’t care. It happened anyway, no one cares why or how. This is why no one can know, I can’t trust anyone to keep the secret, I don’t know if anyone else could even handle knowing this. I was the one who did this and it’s still debilitating, I couldn’t imagine someone not connected to it at all knowing. I can’t drag anyone else down with me in this way anyway. No one can know I killed that woman.
I enjoy the fact this app is becoming less edgy 14 year olds, and more of 14 year olds who just want to share their interests with others and get support. With that being said, here's a quote from my school library that was obviously not well thought out.
Opinion Rant-
Just because someone has a healthy homelife with supportive friends and/or a healthy relationship etc. doesn't mean they couldn't be depressed or mentally ill/their mental illnessed aren't "as bad" as somekne with issues in their life. Most mental illnesses don't discriminate between people's lives and can affect anyone. Similarly, just because someone has a bad homelife, toxic friends, and/or a toxic relationship etc. doesn't mean they can't be as happy or happier than someone who has a "brtter" life. People's life circumstances don't always affect their mental stability. Despite it having some impact, it isn't the only variable in mental health.
