After popping a truckload of Eps, singles and music videos in the past couple of years, RODEO felt like it was time to go big or go home. Since she's not a wuss, she went big. Leonizer Records is proud to present her debut LP "All Things Must End", 11 tracks of not-willing-to-bow-down pop music.
As any artist realising a new project and watching it grow and change, the journey through self-doubt lead her to come up with an album strong with positive affirmations. Which then embraced many points of the musical spectrum ranging from clapping electro to summer pop & synth trap.
She took her experience in storytelling a step further, giving extra attention to lyrics and guiding us through different states of confusion, with stark confidence, like a friend who holds your hand tight and charges through a densely packed crowd when you are blinded by strobe lights. For this project, she collaborated with fellow Australians, Kate Cooper (COOPER/An Horse) whose singing appears on "Fade Away" and Gerwyn Davies for beautifully minimal artwork, designed by Berlin-based Zirkumflex collective.
Like drinking sparkling water when you are hungover. Like a pep talk from Ciara on a day you were feeling like the weight of the world was on your shoulders. Like your dog licking your face to let you know you fell asleep in the bathtub, this LP will be your best companion to get you through the shit of daily life.
Now who is Rodeo?
Rodeo, or Susie as most know her, is an award-winning songwriter, drummer and vocalist with a music career spanning almost a decade across three continents. She is a founding member of much-lauded Australian indie band I Heart Hiroshima that received much deserved attention from BBC, NME, Vice and all those big shots around the world. World that she extensively toured like a mad cat until, restless, she decided to leave Australia to set up in Berlin (via New York City). That's where, equipped with only a laptop, soon followed by drum pads and other toys, she pushed her musical abilities in a new, electronic direction. Together with producer/cowriter Darren Jensen, she combined the stripped-down indie aesthetic of her previous work with danceable electro beats on songs of a decidedly personal yet pop nature. RODEO was born.
