Detail from David Pointing to His Mouth, Master of the Ingeborg Psalter, about 1205
I knew that I was dying. something in me said, go ahead, die, sleep, become as them, accept. then something else in me said, no, save the tiniest bit. it needn’t be much, just a spark. a spark can set a whole forest on fire. just a spark. save it.
Charles Bukowski (via fyp-philosophy) @itis-farah you're my spark ❤️

Old school GSG 9
Vintage photo of Germany’s famous and elite counter-terrorism unit GSG 9. Supposedly those Mercedes sedans in the picture are armored, though I’m sure they have different vehicles by now. Note the huge array of tools and firearms they use. Note the many different MP5 variants and several PSG-1 sniper rifles. If you look near the boots of the GSG 9 member farthest to the right, you’ll see a Mauser SP66 sniper rifle. It is a heavily modified and accurate bolt action rifle used by law enforcement and some military forces back in the day.
Axe
Syria, Mamluk period, 15th century.
The cup decoration on the socket of the axe indicates the owner was originally cupbearer to the sultan.
