I’ve put all of the fabric painting tutorials into one big photo post.
Includes silk painting with resist (Elven Banner), free-hand painting on stretch fabrics (Jareth from Labyrinth), fake embroidery with puffy paint (Peter of Narnia), graphite transfer paper with fabric paint pens (Tali from Mass Effect) and regular Tulip fabric paint (TARDIS lab coat).
Sweat was beading across Spike's brow. His eyes were screwed shut in a grimace of abject agony as he lay writhing on the couch.
Faye worried at her lower lip as she entered the room, arms crossed loosely so her hands each cupped the opposite elbow.
He hadn't seemed this hurt earlier when Jet and Doc were patching up his wounds, though that had also been an exercise in patience for Faye as she had listened to his howls and moans.
Hesitantly, she sat down on the table in front of the couch. She released her elbows so she could rest them on her thighs as she wringed her hands in an attempt to rid her body of the restless anxiety churning through her.
Spike's right arm was folded across his ribcage, splinted and bound to his midriff by a mummy's worth of bandages. His left arm slipped off the couch as his body continued to spasm.
Without thinking, Faye reached out to grab his left hand. She was sitting near enough to the couch that she could scooch her knees over just a smidge and would be able to give his dangling appendage a place to lie.
She didn't know why she was even bothering to do this for him. He was the fool for taking up this narrow space instead of recovering in his own room. Besides, he was completely out of it and probably not at all aware of her attempt to offer any sort of aid.
But, to her surprise, his panting mellowed into more regular - still strained - breathing. His body seemed to calm just a touch. And, most telling, his hand twitched to clutch onto hers.
A man drowning in pain, desperately grasping at human connection.

Note: I am a bit picky in what I’ll read since there are certain things I’m just not interested in reading (although getting less picky as I run low on stories on AO3 and have to broaden my horizons to find new Zutara works to read...). It’s also kind of rare that I follow a wip, unless the author has a good track record of updating fairly regularly and finishing multi-chapter fics (sorry, I know it’s terrible. In my defense, I can’t handle tv shows week to week either, I almost always wait for the full season to be done).

In the middle of her last year at the Fire Nation Royal University, Katara’s classes and part time job consume most of her time. Coming home late one night after the library closes, she takes a shortcut to her new apartment and passes a small tea shop in a back alley. Even when the sign on the door of his uncle’s tea shop is turned to say ‘closed’, Zuko still has to to clean up before he locks up. Alone in the small, old luxury tea house wedged in the back alley of Souzin Building One, he is confident no one sees him as he puts on some earbuds and sweeps as he unknowingly dances along to the music. As he innocently goes about his cleaning, singing along, he turns around and finds himself looking into the crinkled blue eyes of a giggling university student on the other side.

Aang watches his first love fall in love with someone else.
Highly recommend, even though it’s a different vibe than the others on this list. How Aang’s crush on an older girl would have more realistically played out in a modern setting. Everything feels really in character and age appropriate, and Aang has a nice growth arc.

Zuko and Katara are in bed and he's out like a light - he rises with the sun, she rises with the moon, right? It's Katara that keeps prodding him awake, asking him ridiculous questions about their future, and Zuko sleepily plays along - until one question catches him completely off guard.

Toph has founded a metalbending school in the Earth Kingdom. Sokka has taken the lead beside their father in the Southern Water Tribe’s rebuilding and modernization process.
It seems there’s no place left that needs Katara.

One of the rare wip that I follow. The first book in the series is done, but the second is in progress. I can't emphasize enough how addictive this story was. I stayed up way too late many nights as I read it.
