All right. I am a little tipsy and I did not do this recipe correctly—however!!!! It would be fully evil to hide this kind of information from you, so:
This toast is fuck.
For notes, the official and proper process is: white bread, honey, toast; butter, toast; spicy; eat. Predictably, I got confused and added an extra layer of butter (unsalted) before the spicy. And also, for the spice, I used chili flakes—my favorite lovely Flatiron brand Dark and Smoky flavor, which in my experience goes beautifully with sweet dishes. Also, coarsely ground salt on top.! Yum.
Also. I’m done explaining Japanese kitchens so please don’t reblog if you’re just trying to ask why so much seasoning can be toasted (spoiler: it’s a broiler; the bread is always horizontal). It’s late; please respect how sleepy I am!
